Chapter 29 - LESSONS

Anastasia Creed

I've always been jealous of people who have a perfect life. I hate to see people smiling and laughing with their loved ones. I'm not fond of Christmas, Thanksgiving, Valentine's and Birthdays. I hate them all. All I ever wanted was a family to come home to and be happy.

I want to be with someone. I want to have a family with that someone.

But all the men I've been with always wanted something from me. Asher is indeed one of them. He confused me, but I've already decided not to play along with his game. I know I'll only get hurt in the end.

"Do you realize that you have never done this before?" Owen said as I leaned my body to him.

"Yeah."

"Do you like that much?"

"No."

"You're lying."

"No."

"You like him..."

"No!"

"You love him then..."

"I'm going to kill you." I turned to him, and he looked away instantly.

"Ana, you realize you're making me act with you to make him jealous." I let out a sigh.

"I'm teaching him a lesson."

"Ana..."

"What?"

"You really like him, huh?" Owen asked in a very concerning tone. I shook my head and looked down at my intertwined hands.

"We've known each other for years, and this is my first time seeing you like this."

"Like what?" I asked as I closed my eyes.

"Alive."

"Alive?"

"You know that you've been living a zombie life for years. You became an assassin young and barely lived your life." I shook my head.

"I'm still the old Ana, Owen."

"That's what you think..."

"Besides, once you reunite with your brother, you'll be—"

"He's dead." Owen stepped on the brake so hard that if I didn't wear my seatbelt, I would have died.

"What the fuck!" I turned to him, and he looked at me like his eyes would pop out of its socket.

"He's dead? How did you know?"

"I went to Miami, and he's not there. You knew I tried hard to find him, but there's no trace. Asher found out that he's dead already."

"And you believe him?" That hit me.

"I did."

"You know that your brother is not the type that can die easily." Owen knew Andreas because he was one of Morganna's lapdogs. Owen got out of her radar at the same time as I ran away from the camp. We're not close, but I know I can trust him.

"Andreas never reached out to me after he dropped me off. It was odd, but he's not the type to leave."

"There's a group called The Ravens in New York, and they've been operating at the same time as The Bloodhounds. I'm going to do a transaction next week in Texas. I bet they're willing to take you in, knowing you're one of Morganna's assassins."

"And you trust them? You hate the idea of me joining the Bloodhounds." I told him recently, and he almost died when I told him that I screw Asher sometimes. I told him while he was riding his bike on the streets.

"I don't trust the Bloodhounds because Asher has a reputation. People hate him since he's slowly holding hands with the government, but the Ravens are more into the underground shit." I looked out the window and sighed.

"Are you planning to go back into the streets?" I asked, and Owen chuckled.

"I always wanted to go back. Living an ordinary life is boring, and I miss the thrill of delivering dark web shit." Owen used to be Morganna's favorite courier boy. Owen is brilliant and can scan the room, so he rarely makes mistakes.

"Can I come to New York with you?" I asked.

"Yeah."

"What are you dropping there?"

"Contracts. Illegal ones, of course." He smirked.

"You're going to see the members? Or?"

"Yeah. I'm going to be working directly with Vincent Parker, and you're going to be my assassin that day."

"Okay."

Asher Serano

"It's a vibrator, sir," Lory said as he double-checked it. I grabbed the tablet and zoomed into the box Ana put on the table. I zoomed out to see Owen holding the remote in his left hand and wrapping his right arm around Ana's waist.

She's biting her bottom lip and closing her eyes, arching her body because she's fucking high on orgasm.

"I want him dead tonight," I said as I gave the tablet back. I got out of the car and made my way into the cafe. They ordered some drinks and cakes, but they were too busy to eat or drink them.

I walked up to them, and Owen raised his eyebrows when he saw me pulling the chair across her. Ana opened her eyes and gasped when she saw me. She sat up straight and pushed Owen's hand away from her waist.

I put my hand on the table, gesturing for Owen to give me the remote. Owen turned to Ana, asking for approval, but Ana shook her head.

"What are you doing here?"

"You lured me here."

"Lured you? Oh! You want to watch us?" She clapped her hands and smiled excitedly. "I never thought you have a voyeurism kink, Serano." She smirked.

"We booked a hotel already, ready to join us?" She's testing me, huh?

I stared at her, and she stared me back with the same tension. We're both trying to see who's going to look away first. It's always about dominance, and she will never back down.

"Here's what I'm going to do..." I said as I pointed my finger at Owen. "I'm going to skin him alive and hang his corpse in front of your house as a reminder to not fuck with me." I could see Owen looked like he was going to faint.

"Do you have feelings for me?" Fuck. She asked me the same question that I asked her. "You don't. Then why are you throwing me all of these questions?" She added as she leaned her body back.

"Everything about us screams business, Asher. We're having fun by using each other. You're also using me for my skill, and I'm using you to find Morganna." She mocked me by imitating me.

"Just because we had sex, it doesn't mean we have something special between us. It's pure lust, and we both get off from it." She let out a sarcastic chuckle and leaned her body forward.

"You're not special, Asher. You're just one of my fuck buddies."

I could feel my chest slowly burning in anger; my heart raced, and my body temperature went up instantly. My hands turned into fists, and I calmed myself down so Ana wouldn't feel like she was on top.

"I'm going to say this once to you, Ana. You better listen to me carefully..." I said, and she rolled her eyes.

"Starting from this second and going on forward, I'm going to kill every man that touches you. I'm going to skin them alive and collect all of their skin that has your DNA on it. Then I'm going to hang their corpse on the fountain in front of your house. I take back all the words that said we're only business. We're more than that. It's just hard for me to admit it."

"Too bad. For me, we're only business."

"I guess it's time for me to teach you some lessons, my little chaos."
