You raise your head and step forward.

(Y/n): Use the mountain path. Work together. You all know what’s at stake.

Solas: he's right. If anything we need to get him and that mark to the top of the mountain.

Cassandra nodded and turned to Leliana.

Cassandra: Leliana. Bring everyone left in the valley. Everyone.

As you and the group with a few dozen soldiers walk away, Rodrick looked at you all.

Roderick: On your head be the consequences, Seeker.

Timeskip~

The group climb up a snowy incline and reaches the bottom of a ladder. You head up first and wave everyone up.

Cassandra: The tunnel should be just ahead. The path to the temple lies just beyond it.

You walk in and look around.

Solas: What manner of tunnel is this? A mine?

Cassandra: Part of an old mining complex. These mountains are full of such paths.

Varric: And your missing soldiers are in there somewhere?

Solas: Along with whatever has detained them.

Cassandra: We shall see soon enough.

You take out Chikage and Evelyn. Slowly approaching the open to see soldiers fighting off demons.

Varric sighed.

Varric: Guess we found the soldiers.

Cassandra: That cannot be all of them.

Varric: So the others could be holed up ahead?

Solas: Our priority must be the Breach. Unless we seal it soon, no one is safe.

Varric: I’m leaving that to the man with the glowing hand.

You charge with Solas, Varric and Cassandra behind you. You slash at the demons doing heavy damage. You see a wraith shoot at you but you jump back dodging its attack. Solas casts a shield on you and the group.

Solas: Protection. It won't last long so lets end this quickly!

You nod and quickly dispatch of the demons and proceed. You see more soldiers fighting off more demons under a rift.

Soldier: Lady Cassandra!

Cassandra: You’re alive!

Soldier: Just barely.

You shoot a demon that was about to strike the soldier and jump down on a wraith and bring Chikage down on its head.

You look up at the rift and lifted your hand up to it. It exploded but didn't dissappear.

(Y/n): why didn't it work?!

Solas killed a wraith and looked at you.

Solas: you must dispatch the demons first! Think of them as guardians of the rift. Kill them it leaves it open.

You looked ag him then the demons to see them stunned.

(Y/n): When I try they get stunned!

You see a giant green creatire emerge from the ground and knock Cassandra away.

Varric: quick do it again!

You look at the rift and put your hand up to it and it explodes again stinning the beast.

Cassandra got up.

Cassandra: Now while its down!

The soldiers, Cassandra and yourself go to the green beast and start slashing and stabbing it until it finally gets sucked into the rift. You look at the rift to see it exposed. You raised your hand to it and finally closed it off.

Solas approaches you.

Solas: Sealed, as before. You are becoming quite proficient at this.

Varric: Let’s hope it works on the big one.

You look at the big one and ball your hand into a fist.

Cassandra helps a soldier to her feet.

Soldier: Thank the Maker you finally arrived, Lady Cassandra. I don’t think we could have held out much longer.

Cassandra: Thank our prisoner, Lieutenant. She insisted we come this way.

Soldier: The prisoner? Then you…?

You look at her.

(Y/n): I hold the key to closing that thing. However that doesn't mean I can't save a few innocent soldiers along the way.

Soldier: Then you have my sincere gratitude.

You smile and nod.

Cassandra: The way into the valley behind us is clear for the moment. Go, while you still can.

The female soldier looked at Cassandra and nodded.

Soldier: At once. Quickly, let’s move!

The soldier and a couple of other leave the area as Cassandra, Varric, Solas and yourself walk towards the temple.

Solas: The path ahead appears to be clear of demons as well.

Cassandra: Let’s hurry, before that changes.

You all approach a ladder and look down it.

Cassandra: Down the ladder. That’s the way to the temple.

You slide down the ladder and keep moving.

Varric: So…while we're nearly to the breach. I have a question. Holes in the fade don’t just accidentally happen right?

Solas: If enough magic is brought to bear, it is possible.

Varric: But there are easier ways to make things explode.

Solas: That is true.

Cassandra: We will consider how this happened once the immediate danger is past.

Varric and Solas nodded. He looked at you and ran up to you.

Varric: you seem like a natural at fighting even when facing possible death in the eye. What's your secret?

You chuckled.

(Y/n): You think these are the first ever monsters I've ever faced?

Varric stopped and looked at your questioningly and confused.

(Y/n): Oh and death. I'm not afraid of death. I however do find it a little....frustrating.

This comment made Cassandra and Solas stop too.

Cassandra: a man who does not fear death?

Solas: he would have faced death several times to say that.

Varric shook off the feeling and kept walking. As did the others.

You walk around the corner to see a wreckage of a burned down structure.

Solas: The Temple of Sacred Ashes.

Varric: What’s left of it.

Cassandra: That is where you walked out the Fade and our soldiers found you. They said a woman was in the rift behind you. No one knows who she was.

There are a bunch of burned (or still burning) corpses and scattered bones. You counted at least 30 burned corpses, 30 skulls among the scattered bones, plus one relatively intact Templar corpse.

Varric: The breach is a long way up.

(Y/n): Haven't got any flying spells Solas?

Leliana approaches from behind with some soldiers.

Leliana: You’re here! Thank the Maker.

Cassandra: Leliana, have your men take up positions around the temple.

Leliana nods and walks away to give directions.

Cassandra: This is your chance to end this. Are you ready?

You look at her.

(Y/n): I’ll try, but I don’t know if I can reach that, much less close it.

Solas: No.

He points at the rift in the middle of the temple.

Solas: This rift was the first and is the key. Seal it, and perhaps we seal the Breach.

Cassandra: Then let’s find a way down. And be careful.

Leliana accompanies you and your companions as they go up some steps and take the path that circles down to the rift.

As they get closer, they hear echos from the Fade.

Voice of Corypheus: Now is the hour of our victory. Bring forth the sacrifice.

Cassandra: What are we hearing?

Solas: At a guess: The person who created the Breach.

You pass two archers in position overlooking the rift.

There is some red lyrium growing out of the ground on the right side of the path.

Varric: You know this stuff is red lyrium, Seeker.

Cassandra: I see it, Varric.

Varric: “But what is it doing here?”

Solas: Magic could have drawn on lyrium beneath the temple, corrupted it…

Varric: It’s evil. Whatever you do don’t touch it.

(Y/n): Duly noted.

The party hears another echo from the Fade

Voice of Corypheus: Keep the sacrifice still.

Voice of Justinia: Someone help me!

Cassandra: That is Divine Justinia’s voice!

You reache the end of the path and goes down some stone stairs into the ruins, then jumps down some stones into the pit.

You all approaches the rift and the mark on the your hand flares.

The party hears another echo from the Fade

Voice of Justinia: Someone help me!

Voice of you: What’s going on here?

Cassandra: That was your voice. Most Holy called out to you. But…

There is a flash of white light, then ghostly images appear. You see Divine Justinia floating while being held in place by red energy wrapped around her arms. A large dark figure with glowing red eyes looms over her.

Ghostly image of you: What’s going on here?

Ghostly image of Justinia: Run while you can! Warn them!

Ghostly image of Corypheus: We have an intruder. Kill him. Now.

Cassandra: You were there! Who attacked? And the Divine, is she…? Was this vision true? What are we seeing?

(Y/n): Its all still a blurr!

Solas: Echoes of what happened here. The Fade bleeds into this place. This rift is not sealed, but it is closed… albeit temporarily. I believe with the mark, the rift can be opened and then sealed properly and safely. However, opening the rift will likely attract attention from the other side.

Cassandra: That means demons. Stand ready!

The soldiers and archers get ready.

You get ready taking out Evelyn and Chikage. You hold up your hand and open the rift. A pride demon forms and drops infront of you knet down.

Cassandra: a pride demon!

You grit your teeth and get back with the group and into a defensive position. Suddenly you hear a bell. You look around, you hear it again. So do the soldiers as they look around.

Cassandra: a bell?

The pride demon laughed.

You wondered why but then you realised why as you went wide eyed looking at the sky to see a full moon.

(Y/n): No...it can't be. Why here?!

Cassandra: what? (Y/n) what is it?! You hear a scream and look up at the top of the huge green crystal in the middle. The others followed your stare and went wide eyed af what they saw.

The Cleric Beast.

It jumped down next to the pride demon and screached at you causing everyone to block their ears.

You look at it and do a battle cry and charge at it.

Cassandra: (Y/n) wait!

Varric: eyes forward seeker!

The pride demon rose up and walked towards the soldiers and the rest of the group.

As Cassandra, Varric and Solas dealt with the pride demon. You were busy with the Celric beast. You see it try to grab you and you roll under its legs. You grabbed one of the hairs on its face and pulled it down to your height. You flipped Chikage around and stabbed deep into its eye. The beast cried out in pain. You took Chikage out of its eye it screamed in pain. You slashed at its legs which brought it to its knees. You walked to its face and looked at the pained expression on its face.

(Y/n): Never again...

You raise your sword to finish it off.

Solas: (Y/n)!

You look over to see Solas trying to fend off the demon but none of his spells seem to effect it.

Cassandra: It's armour is too strong! We need to weaken it!

You look at the Cleric beast then at the rift. You tap your sword on your shoulder while gritting your teeth.

(Y/n): Shite!

You run to the rift and hold your hand up to it. A beam of green energy shoots out of the rift into your hand. The rift explodes and the pride demon yells and gets on his knees.

(Y/n): Now!

Cassandra, Varric, Solas, Leliana and her soldiers and you attack the pride demon. You finish it off by slicing its gead off. You watched its body glow green and get sucked back into the rift. You breathed heavily and looked at the rift to see it open up. You stand up.

(Y/n): Now the rif-

A hand grabbed you catching you and the group off guard.  You looked at the Cleric beast as ir lifted you towards its face. It roared at you getting saliva on your face. Its roaring stopped when an arrow hit its eye causing it to let you go. You looked back to see Varric load another arrow onto Bianca, only this arrow had a cherry bomb attached to it.  He shot it at the beasts chest which stuck then exploded.

Solas shot beams of energy out of his staff at it. Leliana and her soldiers shot several arrows at it.

You looked at the beast to see in covered in arrows. It crouched down and lunged at you with its jaws open but Cassandra stepped infront of it and with brute strength, slammed her shield into its face which made it do a front flip over you and her and into a wall.

(Y/n): Holy shit.

The beast struggled to get up.

Cassandra: it won't stay down!

You stood up.

(Y/n): I'll fix that.

You put Evelyn away and take out your cannon.

The Cleric beast looks at you weakly as you took aim and fired, blowing its head off.

The beast fell dead and turned to smoke. You looked at the rift to see it still open and walk towards it.

Cassandra: such monsterous power...

You held your hand up to the rift. You felt the same pain you've been feeling for the last couple of minutes only it felt like it had spread throufh your entire body. You yelled at the top of your lungs and closed the breach. You heard the sound of thinder in the sky as you fell to the ground and looked at the sky. Well...the moon.

(Y/n): and so....the hunt begins again.

You say, closing your eyes and losing consciousness.
