Blood Trail.

TW: Graphic Violence, Torture, Blood

--

"Haha! Bye losers! I'm done for the day!" Jimin giggled as he ran around and poked at his members, teasing that he was done with all of his work and photoshoots before everyone else. The others jokingly shoved him around, telling him they didn't want to hear it. They were admittedly jealous that they were still trapped at work for a few more hours while Jimin finally got to go do whatever he wanted.

"Do you have any plans?" Jungkook asked.

Jimin thought for a moment. "Hmm...I was thinking of going for a hike or something."

Yoongi walked over, curious. "With who?" He was usually Jimin's hiking buddy so he felt a ping of jealousy knowing Jimin might have found someone else.

"Just on my own today, since you're all busy," Jimin replied. Yoongi tried to hide a small smirk, secretly glad that Jimin hadn't replaced him with a new hiking partner.

Taehyung overheard the conversation and came over to chime in. "Hiking alone? Should you be doing that?" He turned to Jin who was nearby. "Hyung, should he be doing that?"

"I mean..as long as he's careful.." Jin wasn't one to try and tell the members what to do, even though he did tend to worry about them quite a lot. "Make sure you bring your phone and everything."

"I will be careful hyung I promise!" Jimin thought their concern was cute. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm killing precious daylight standing here talking to you guys when there is a whole world out there to explore!"

Namjoon and Hobi playfully shoved him toward the door, teasing him and telling him to hurry up and get lost.

That's just what Jimin did. He caught a ride home, showered, changed into hiking boots, and made sure his phone was charged up. He figured he wouldn't be gone long so didn't bother to pack snacks or anything, just a water bottle. He wanted to explore places he hadn't been before. He googled hiking trails but all the ones that came up were ones he'd already hiked with his members, mostly Yoongi. He decided to try a new method and searched up old abandoned trails instead.

He wanted something new. He wanted adventure. He came across a list of somewhat local trails, but found a nice looking one about an hour away. There was a little description about why the trails were abandoned..

but he didn't care to read it.

He simply decided he wanted to go to that one because it was nicknamed "Blood Trail" and he thought that was cool. He called an Uber and had them drive him to the town the entrance to the trail was in. The town itself was a bit run down but he didn't mind. He figured if anything there would be nobody to bother him while he was out and about. He got dropped off at a drop off station on the side of the road and it was a quick 5 minute walk to the trail entrance.

Upon first entering, it seemed like any other trail in any other forest. He started to not see the reason it was even called Blood Trail. Maybe people trip a lot on this one and scrape their knees?

His mind was quickly changed when he entered into a large clearing and saw a bunch of old, rotted, run down carnival equipment. He ran towards them. "No way!" he shouted out loud. "There used to be a carnival here?!" He ran around continuing to explore the place. He immediately took his phone out and sent pictures to his members.

BTS GroupChat:

Jimin: guys guys guys!! look at this!! look what I found out here!

Hobi: where the hell is that?? but also don't touch any of that stuff!

Jimin: idk hyung some place called blood trail

He was immediately getting a call from Namjoon.

"Hello?" Jimin answered. It was staticky and he couldn't make out quite what his hyung was saying, but he got the part where Namjoon said "Get out of there" and "You shouldn't be there!"

The phone reception was way too shitty, so he hung up and texted back.

Jimin: what?

Namjoon: How the hell did you end up there?! That's not a safe trail Jimin! Don't you read anything like ever?!

Jimin: no not usually. what's wrong with the place?

Yoongi: YOU SHOULD LEAVE

Jungkook: Namjoon hyung is freaking out. i think yoongi hyung is too

Namjoon was freaking out back at their photoshoot. He told the others he had read all about Blood Trail, and there's a big legend that a serial killer lived out there. Tons of young people went missing in the 60's, which was why the carnival got shut down. The serial killer was known to take people from the carnival, bring them back to his house, and murder them in terrifying ways. The scariest part was he was never caught.

Taehyung couldn't help but giggle at Namjoon's concern. "If it was in the 60's the dude's probably already dead, or two old to kidnap people anymore anyway. Plus if they knew where he lived he obviously didn't stay there."

Taehyung had a point, so this did calm Namjoon down. But he still informed Jimin of the whole story, and then Jin added that he was ordering Jimin to get out of those woods.

Jimin said fine, he'd go. He was lying about that, but his members didn't need to know that small detail.

He continued to explore around all the old equipment, thinking this was the coolest thing he could have ever possibly found. As he looked around, he was oblivious to a man sneaking up behind him, lifting a shovel into the air, and bringing it down on the back of his head. He didn't have time to react as he immediately dropped unconscious face first into the dirt.

--

Jimin heard a ringing in his ears as he slowly started to wake back up. The first thing he was aware of was how badly the back of his head hurt. He winced in pain as he grabbed it. He couldn't remember what had happened. Did I trip and fall against something? As he slowly opened his eyes he looked around to see he was laying on a floor.

He didn't recognize the place at all, and the smell of it immediately made him want to throw up. He winced again at the agonizing pain shooting through his head and now his nostrils. He felt panic shoot through him as a tall man wearing a sheepskin mask made his way over. The man was holding a blood stained shovel. As he made his way closer, Jimin tried backing away but his body felt too sore.

"P-please...please don't hurt me.." He grabbed at the back of his head again and noticed there was blood on his hand. He realized he'd been hit with that shovel and it was his blood on it. He groaned when he realized Namjoon may have been right.

The man kept stepping closer, without word.

"No no no, look I'm sorry! I didn't mean to touch anything! I just got a little lost! I'm really sorry! I'll just get up and go!" Jimin mustered up his strength to get himself up onto his hands and knees in a desperate attempt at escaping, but the man took the shovel and slammed it into his ribs.

"Ahhh!" Jimin screamed as he dropped face first back onto the floor. He could now see spit and snot pooling together beneath him, mixing with the tears he was letting splash out. He lay there gasping for breath.

The killer grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and hoisted him to his feet. He started dragging him into another room. Jimin was a sobbing mess, screaming and crying to be let go. "Please! Please! I won't say anything to anyone! This is a mistake! I swear I didn't mean to be out here! I was just leaving!" His chest heaved up and down as his body was fighting between his fight or flight sense. He tried kicking and clawing at the man but his own strength proved useless. Soon he found himself being dragged into a basement.

"No! No!" Jimin screamed. He grabbed onto the door frame and tried to stop himself from being thrown down the basement stairs. "Stop! Stop it! Help! Someone help me! Please!" The man slowly unclenched Jimin's fingers one by one from the door frame, lifted him into the air, and tossed him right to the bottom of the concrete steps, where he felt his body crunch and crumple onto the concrete floor.

"Hmph.....mmm..ow..." Jimin cried. Every bone in his body was hurting. He felt as though he cracked multiple fingers and multiple ribs, and he'd hit his head again, sending him into a dizzying spiral of confusion. He felt a new sense of cold and looked to see his shirt had been torn almost half way off as he shivered.

He could hear footsteps coming down the stairs. He licked his lips and gulped. "No..." he whispered. He'd lost his breath after the fall and it hadn't come back to him yet. He was sure his heart was on the verge of exploding with how absolutely terrified he was. His mind was reeling with a million ways he could try to get out of there but nothing was making sense in his own head. Everything was spinning. He couldn't remember what time it was or how he had gotten here.

But he did remember that his members would most likely come looking for him so he tried to use that as a threat to his advantage. "My...my brothers..they're going to come...and kill you...you won't get away with this.."

Instant regret shot through him at the mention of the others because he thought about how if they really did show up, they'd be in danger too. He felt like an idiot for letting this monster know to be on the lookout for more of them. No...Jimin..why.

The killer picked Jimin up again, this time the singer had no strength to fight like he had a moment ago. Being thrown onto the concrete floor from a good 15 feet up had really hurt him. He felt his body be slammed down on a metal table. He tried to push the mans hands away but he was too dazed to use much strength. He felt his wrists and ankles being belted and strapped down to the table. They had been pulled so insanely tight he felt like his hands and feet were going to fall off. The killer then took a knife and sliced apart the rest of Jimin's shirt, throwing it aside. He felt another belt being pressed down across his waist. This strap was also insanely tight as it pinched his skin.

"Let me go. Please let me go." He really didn't know what else to do at this point except cry and beg for his life. "I promise you don't want me. I don't want to die." The tears stung the cuts on his face that he'd gotten from being thrown. "I'm sorry for whatever I've done. Please don't do this."

The killer hadn't spoken a word at all, and it was pissing Jimin off even more. He filled with so much rage that Jimin spit at him. "Cat got your fuckin tongue, huh?! You can do all this shit, but you're too big of a coward to speak?!"

The killer immediately took a knife and slowly started slicing it across Jimin's stomach. He screamed out in agony. "Ahh! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Stop! Please! Stop! Ah!" He squirmed in pain, which only made the blade dig into other parts of his stomach. He could feel warm blood trickling down the sides of him and pool around him on the metal table.

That was only the start of the torture.

The killer proceeded to carve into Jimin's stomach, ribs, arms, anywhere he could. He had taken pliers and ripped out one of Jimin's molars. Jimin started screaming and choking on his own blood. He coughed it up and gasped for air. He thought of his members again and prayed he'd get to see them at least one more time, but knew deep down that was next to impossible.

"Fuck you!" Jimin screamed, his voice muffled by the blood still pooling in his mouth. He tried kicking but his legs were strapped in place. He spit blood out and watched it splatter across the killers mask. He threw his head back against the table and stared at the ceiling. Very quickly he realized he'd changed his mind, he'd rather die already than continue living through this pain.

"Just kill me already you bastard! Just do it!" he cried. He didn't understand why the man wouldn't get the job done, but came to the conclusion the man was clearly doing this for fun.

"You're a sick bastard, you know that?!" Jimin wasn't provoking him on purpose. He knew it only resorted in more blood and pain but he was so scared he couldn't form any other words besides the ones of anger that kept spewing out of his mouth. He watched as the killer went over to a sink and filled a pot with water, used a torch to boil it, and then came over and splashed it onto his chest. The singers screams were deafening. He couldn't even form words to beg for mercy.

Continuing on with his torture, instead of slicing the knife across Jimin's skin like he had been, the killer took the knife and started stabbing into him now. As the blade slowly went further and further into his stomach, his screams were so ear piercing that he swore he was making the walls shake. He started gasping for breath and coughing. There was nothing he could do to stop the pain or make it go away, and it finally reached the point where his body couldn't handle it anymore. Between the pain, fear, and extreme blood loss, Jimin passed out.

--

It was not Jimin's screams that had made the walls shake. It was his members breaking into the house. It had been hours since they heard from him so they tracked his phone to see he was still in the woods. They found his phone and water bottle laying on the ground by the old carnival equipment and split up to search for the house. Hobi had found it and screamed for the others to come over. They had called the police when they had first found Jimin's stuff because at that point they knew something was wrong, but they weren't going to idly sit by and wait for them to show up. Especially when they swore they heard Jimin screaming.

They had busted into the house and immediately were slapped in the face with how badly it smelled. They saw blood splattered across the carpet and it looked fresh. They followed the trail to the basement door.

"Do we....go in..?" Jungkook asked with a nervous expression in his eyes. Jin told him to wait upstairs but as scared as he was, he refused. "If he's down there I want to help!" Jungkook cried. The members agreed to stick together no matter what, and protect each other no matter what.

They tiptoed their way down and could see pools of blood at the bottom of the concrete stairs. They hoped it wasn't Jimin's. They got to the bottom and turned the corner to immediately see him passed out, soaked in blood, strapped down to the table.

"Jimin!" Taehyung screamed. They all ran to him in a frenzy. Their hearts were completely shattered by the sight of him and they burst into tears as they frantically tried to undo the straps. Yoongi tried shaking him "Ji-Jimin...hey.....we're here..." he could barely speak through his tears seeing how hurt Jimin was. "We're going to get you out of here. I promise."

Without warning, Taehyung felt himself get grabbed from behind and slammed into a wall. He shrieked.

"Hyung!" Jungkook screamed as he ran for Taehyung. The others turned to see the monster that had taken Jimin hovering above them. The man was tall as hell which made him that much scarier. The mask he wore covered every inch of his skin.

"Hurry!" Jin screamed as the rest of them tried freeing Jimin. Jungkook helped Taehyung up and Hobi screamed for those two to run, but they didn't listen. They were going to be there for their hyungs no matter what.

Namjoon ran at the man and punched him. "You bastard! What the hell did you do to him?! What the hell is wrong with you!?" he screamed.

The killer shoved Namjoon so hard he flew half way across the room. Jin, Yoongi, and Hobi finally got Jimin free of the straps, and this really set the killer off. The man started throwing anything he could at them as they tried to run. He got Yoongi by the throat but Hobi found a knife laying around and stabbed the man in the arm with it, making him release the rapper. Yoongi grabbed Hobi and started dragging him towards the stairs. Jin had tripped over tools laying on floor, clearly used as torture devices, and the killer got behind him and grabbed a metal pole, ready to bring it down on Jin's head. Jungkook ran forward and grabbed his hyung, pulling him out of the way just in time.

Everything was happening so quickly nobody knew what to do. The man was blocking the stair case so none of them could get by. They had been taking turns carrying Jimin as they all tried to fight off the killer on their own.

Hobi took another look at Jimin and couldn't control himself anymore. He was consumed with his own sense of murderous rage. He had already dropped the knife he was holding before, but  he saw the knife the killer was holding in his hand and made a split second decision. He ran at him.

Yoongi tried grabbing Hobi's shirt, "What?! No!" He screamed, but his dongsaeng slipped from his grip. All the members saw next was Hobi run at the killer, they both stopped moving when they were chest to chest, and then Hobi fell backward onto the floor, the killer landing on top of him.

"No!" Jungkook and Taehyung both screamed.

"Hobi!" Namjoon screamed in terror. They ran back for him, unwilling to leave anyone behind. They stood there as they watched Hobi lay there unmoving. But so was the killer.

Everyone's tears were creating pools on the floor. Things fell silent as they held their breath, fearing the worst. Fearing that Hobi had just been stabbed to death in an attempt to buy them time.

Then the rappers eyes opened, and he pushed the killer off of him. He flopped sideways onto the floor and everyone saw the knife sticking out of the killers chest.

"Hyung!" Jungkook screamed and knelt down beside him, pulling him into a hug. Jin kicked the killer. "Did you....did you kill him? Is he actually dead?!"

Taehyung spoke up. "I'm not trying to stick around and find out! Let's go!"

The members continued carrying Jimin up and out of the house just in time for the police and ambulances to get there.

"Oh! So now you show up?!" Jin screamed at them. The members ran Jimin towards them. "Help him! Please! He's hurt so badly! Please help him!"

Paramedics took Jimin away as the others went on and on about what happened inside and about how the man in charge of all of this was in the basement. The members all smothered Hobi with hugs and thank you's for what he'd done, but Taehyung screamed at him to never do that ever again.

Everything was a blur for the members as they were asked countless questions yet everything was drowned out by the sound of sirens. They watched as Jimin was being flown away in a helicopter and they started screaming that they needed to go be with him.

--

Finally, hours later, the members were gathered in the hospital waiting for news. The biggest concern going through their heads was that Jimin wasn't going to survive this. They didn't know what they'd do if they lost him. Their hearts also broke at the thought of how much trauma he'd have to deal with if he survived something like this. They knew there was a long road ahead either way.

The members were quickly informed that Jimin was placed in a medically induced coma while they stitched him up. He had a really bad concussion, multiple stab wounds, multiple broken bones, they were informed of his tooth being pulled out, he also had burns across his chest.

They all dropped to the floor and held each other crying. Nobody could make sense of how anyone in the world could hurt Jimin, serial killer or not. The only good news they'd received was that the killer was found dead. Hobi was being honored a national hero by the police department but he quickly informed them he really didn't care. He was glad he could bring justice to all the lives lost but all he was concerned about was making sure that Jimin wasn't part of that body count.

After a few days, the members anxiety eased up when they were told Jimin was in the clear, he'd made it through the toughest parts of this and he was going to survive. The first thing Namjoon did was talk to doctors about different counselors Jimin would need to talk to. It was obvious he was going to need trauma therapy.

The day came they could finally see him. It was a much different sight than when they'd found him. He was stitched up, his bruises were healing, and someone had already come in and done dental work to replace his missing tooth, so he was able to speak normally.

The confusion and exhaustion were clear in his weak demeaner, so the members made sure to speak to him gently.

"Hey.." Namjoon said softly. Jimin's eyes were barely open, but he was awake. He saw his members and didn't quite know what was going on, but he couldn't ignore the sense of love and relief he felt when he saw them.

"You look great!" Taehyung smiled. Jimin honestly didn't look great, but he wanted to be positive for his brother, and he technically still did look a lot better than he did in that basement.

"Wh-what...happened?" Jimin whispered.

The members looked at each other, none of them really wanted to be the ones to say what happened. They also didn't know the extent of what Jimin had gone through. That was something Jimin would have to remember on his own, in his own time.

"Well...let's..let's not focus on all that right now. Let me just say you're completely safe and you're going to be okay." Jin turned his face and started crying. He didn't know where the tears suddenly came from, they just burst through his eyes like breaking open a flood gate. Jungkook grabbed Jin's hand and squeezed it.

"Okay," Jimin gulped. He was too tired to pry. Yoongi never felt like he was good at offering comforting and reassuring words, so he did the best he could. He decided to try and lighten the mood with a joke.

"Let's just say the new hiking partner you chose the other day really sucked."

Jimin smiled mainly because he didn't understand it at all, but the others didn't find it funny. Yoongi awkwardly looked at everyone who were all giving him a hostile glare. "Sorry," he frowned.

Jimin had quickly fallen back asleep. He was in and out of sleep for days, but as time passed he was able to stay awake for longer periods of time. Counselors were coming to visit him and eventually he was able to recall everything that happened.

He was absolutely mortified.

Now that he could remember, his anxiety got a lot worse. He never wanted to be alone in his room, and he couldn't imagine ever going hiking again for the rest of his life. The members did everything in their power to make him feel safe and comfortable. They constantly held him and offered reassuring words, telling him how much they loved him, how they would always be there to protect him. He broke down and cried a lot whenever they would do that because he knew without them he would have never woken up.

Namjoon was hugging Jimin tightly in his hospital bed one day as his dongsaeng was having a mental breakdown. He kept kissing the top of Jimin's head. "Nobody can hurt you now. I promise. He's gone."

Jimin had already been informed that Hobi had killed the guy, and at first he thought they were lying until the police actually confirmed it. He asked them if his hyung was going to be in trouble and the police said no, they were glad the killer was dead.

Jungkook couldn't keep his mouth shut. "Yeah, he's only dead now because my brother had to do the job you guys failed to do." Jin had immediately clamped his hand over Jungkook's mouth. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry about him." Jin apologized to the police but it was for show, mainly because he felt the same way Jungkook did.

Time started to tell how Jimin would recover. He was released from the hospital after getting all of his stitches out. He was on a heavy dose of pain killers and had to take a long time off work. He had countless therapy appointments and developed a lot of separation anxiety. He had to be with one of his members at all times. He was plagued by nightmares and slept with one of the others every night. He'd work through all of that in therapy eventually.

He was extremely glad to be home. Everyone was glad he was home. What the members thought would be a night where they'd have to start planning Jimin's funeral, had started to seem like a fever dream now as they all gathered in the kitchen making his favorite dinner instead. He was able to walk around a bit and offered to help cook but the others said absolutely not. Hobi pulled him into a hug and rocked him. "You need to keep resting."

"I'm feeling okay right now though," Jimin replied.

"And that's good, but the more you rest the more you'll feel okay. So go, shoo." Jin walked over and guided Jimin back to the couch where he sat and watched his members continue to cook his favorite meal for him.

Jimin still had a long road to recovery from all the trauma he endured, but he looked at his members in awe as he knew he had all the love and help he'd ever need to get to a truly healed point. He also realized he was going to try and be a much better listener when it came to them telling him not to do something. He knew they only ever wanted to protect him.

With the members by his side, he wasn't too worried about his own recovery anymore.

He could already feel himself slowly getting there.

[The End]
