We went to Aesop's Masters residence and being a vampire...

SUCKS!

I cant go inside because of the stupid holy relics surrounding the place! I groaned sitting outside the house while they talk about some confidential stuff--Great, Just great! I will feel so left out. I need to distract myself from the irritation. I focus my gaze around the surroundings. This place is so peaceful. Might as well try that new trick that the priestess taught me and use this small ring of truth around my neck this can help me understand my past, she told me there are some places the ring of truth will react strongly especially if ever I have already been to that place

I wonder if Ever Rose are one of the places I travel with. Okay Norton, concentrate all your energy in the ring and the past will reveal itself to you and chant these words

With one last focus, the ring glowed in an immense light, absorbing my energy. Once again I felt woozy, I wait for a few moments until my vision cleared. Trying to clear my head and look around, analyzing everything in sight. I was surprised it's the same place but different atmosphere. Did the ring worked? I'm feeling another wave of nostalgia

All these memories, no matter how many times I try to remember I really can't it's like my memories are trapped inside a box or something but even if I can't remember my heart always beat the same way, my body really remembers the places I went to and my heart always remember--

"Norton!"

That familiar voice again. I am sure of it. It's him.

I turn to my side to see a beautiful blonde guy with a strikingly gorgeous pair of cerulean eyes wearing a white button up shirt and a white pants running towards me.

Another one of Aesop's reincarnations ...

The more I see of his different version the more painful I'm trying to endure. Why am I getting lonelier? I felt a warm tear trickle down my cheeks, for some reason I just want to cry my heart out

"Hey, what's wrong, you look kind of out of it?" The blonde guy tilted his head, placing his hand over my cheek,"Are you crying Norton?"

"N-no...I..." He's still the Aesop I know, his benevolence never changed but his appearance and personality changed. He's more upbeat this time compared to the Elegant brown haired version of him that I met last time and that one was aggressive too--I wonder if this one is too?

"You can tell me anything geez, what are friends for if you wont tell me what's worrying you!? Unfair!" The blonde Aesop pouted

Wait! What!? What does he mean we're friends? Aren't we lovers?

I grabbed both of his shoulders making him face me, He seemed quite confused about what I did and I did so too but I got curious, I thought all of his version are my lovers,"Aesop, aren't we lovers?"

"Lovers!?" His cerulean orbs widened, his cheeks glowed in bright red and his mouth wide agape,"N-N-NORTON! Wh-what the hell! Do you like me!?"

"Huh? No, YOU love me!" I retaliated.

"EXCUSE ME! Why would I lo-lo..." This blonde aesop keep stuttering, his eyes aren't even focused on me anymore. His face is glowing in bright crimson shade

"See!!! You love me! Were even gonna get married!" I shook him maybe that'll knock some sense out of him

"Married!? Are you insane, stop shaking me Norton! Dammit! If there's gonna be a marri--"

"Aesop?"

Our banters were interrupted when a beautiful chestnut haired girl approached us, we both turned to her and she smiled brightly at Aesop and I. we both look back at each other. I released my grip at Aesop. Who's this girl?

"Helena!" Aesop called, I saw his beautiful pink lips curved into a loving smile. Aesop ran to her side and held her hand tightly

"My oh my, Are you two fighting again" The small lady chuckled.

"Kind of~ were sworn brothers after all" Aesop stuck out his tongue playfully and looked at the small lady lovingly again

"Good morning Norton. Forgive my childish fiancée, he's quite hard to handle sometimes" The small lady remarked.

Fiancée!?

"Helena, whos hard to handle sometimes? You mean Norton and not me!"

"Well, Dear whos my fiancée anyway hm?"

My heart writhed in pain when I heard those words. I can't believe this version of his is already betrothed to someone already. My eyes welling up in tears. Aesop and Helena noticed my forlorn expression. Aesop immediately run to my side, looking at me worriedly

"Norton, what's wrong?" Aesop asked placing a hand over my shoulder

"I..." I couldn't find any words to say and just shook my head as a response

"Please, tell me. I can't help you if you don't tell me, please--"

"I love you Aesop Carl."

Aesop was taken aback, he gave me a perplexed look. I'm sure he won't get it since he's so in love with this Helena girl, for some odd reason the small lady gave my confession a blank expression, I wondered why?

I cant believe Im crying over something that happened a long time ago and something that I have a vague memories off. My mind forgets but my heart remembers you a lot. My eyes are getting moisted, I cant see him clearly anymore

Why did you trick me, trick us!?

UGH! Those voices again! Why am I not getting a clear view of what's going on? I'm so confused! Dammit! I can't believe something horrifying happened and I can't get a clear view, It's like an endless loop of misery, why wont it stop then?

"No..." I cried. I squirming from my position, I'm breathing heavily, why are these memories suffocating me. It's like I'm falling in deep despair. Sh*t these memories!

"Norton..."

"Norton, Open your eyes"

Who's calling me? I gently opened my eyes and saw Aesop fluttering his eyes towards me, fondling my face, wiping my sweat and tears away. I couldn't process what's going on yet but I can't help but feel a strong pang inside my chest

"Aesop...don't go..." I held his hand tightly, Aesop tilted his head in confusion to my plea. Is he going to die over and over again? For me? Why is fate playing tricks on us?

"Were you trying to recall your past, Norton?" Fiona asked worriedly,"Be careful child. That power can be very dangerous if overused. Use it wisely, I did not teach you such or hand you a piece of my relic to kill yourself trying to figure out who you are in the past."

I bowed apologetically,"I'm sorry--"

"Why were you telling me I love you Aesop a while ago?" Aesop asked

"Wow, he's so straightforward! I like your boyfriend Norton!" Eli teased

"Eli..." I reprimanded Eli and he rolled his eyes at me, I shifted my gaze to Aesop,"I...I was recalling your past life"

"Oh? What am I like?" Aesop gave me a curious smile. He's so cute

"Well, you have blonde hair and blue eyes... Still the same but you have more of an upbeat personality if I must say"

"Is that so..." Aesop looked away for a second and then turn to me with a wide eye,"Did you say blonde?"

"Yes? why? Do you remember your past life like that?" I asked curiously

"Hm? N-no..." Aesop looked away and took a step back holding his arm

That's so weird. Aesop must be hiding something, he looks confused? He did want to meet the Vampire witch after all, I wonder what he wants with her? Maybe he remembers that past self of his, He just don't want to share, Who knows

My trail of thoughts were stopped when Master Kevin laid out an old map in front of us. He told us that we can find the Lady of the mirror at Iselia, land of the dragon worshipper. At first we were curious why would she reside there and Fiona explained that the mirror Lady Mary used as her weapon and to activate her gift is one of the dragon scales from her homeland. That was quite a promising relic, the lady must be a dragon herself? The dragons were extinct decades ago maybe some are hiding to keep their bloodline safe from invaders

Master Kevin informed us that the Lady do not accept visitors in her residence anymore and he cannot explain further but me being with them gave us all hope, Master kevin thought perhaps if the Lady sees someone like me, she will pardon our intrusion to which I happily obliged, Lady Mary might know of my past.

We set off to Iselia.

Is there a festival here?

I was quite surprised how vigorous the place is and it's even at night time. There are lots of decorations, banderitas, colorful flowers, mascots and parole everywhere, the land was lit up by these tiny christmas lights, spiraling across every corner

"How pretty..."

I shift my gaze to the person next to me. I was enchanted, Aesop looks so captivating while staring at the scenery before him.

"Do you like festivals, Aesop?"
"Hm?" Aesop tilted his head towards,"Yes. We rarely celebrate in ever rose since it's a small town and we have no gods or goddess to worship there or lords and ladies to respect either, just a small independent and humble town but there's this one festival we celebrate each year. The Eternal Rose."

"Oh, I see. What's it about"

"I'll tell you some other time." Aesop smiled and handed me a beautiful rose,"Take this and keep it with you always Norton" I nodded in response. I looked at the flower, It's a beautiful yellow flower. I wonder why he gave me one.

While strolling around town looking for a shelter to stay. A strange cat suddenly appeared before us, we instinctively ignore it but it kept following us, strange enough the cat was looking at me with its sharp eyes.

Follow me, Norton.

I was shock. Did that cat just talked?!

"Hey, I think I heard the cat talked and told me to follow it...?" I advised everyone

"Is it a messenger perhaps?" Fiona asked

"Probably. Let's check it out maybe?" Eli added

We followed the cat. It's so weird, I think I'm the only one who heard the cat nonetheless I wonder where does it want to take us.

The Cat lead us into a deadend wall, we're all confused not until the cat jumps into the wall and disappeared. A magic wall. We look at each other before following the cat's lead. We ended up inside an empty and peculiar closed space room and at the far corner, a beautiful lady sat across a majestic golden throne. I have my eyes fixed on that familiar lady.

"L-lady mary!?" I know her right away, I ran towards her and she raised her hand to stop me

"What do you wish this time, My dear?" She asked

Wish? What is she talking about? I was taken aback, her lips curved into mysterious smile and she shifted her view towards my companion

"Quite intriguing. The spell isn't broken now but...you're already with your love, fate must have loved you two to let you meet over and over again, I wonder why"

I'm sure she meant Aesop and I

"With all due respect." Fiona interrupted and bowed,"Are you not the goddess who protected the embalmers centuries ago? That brooch you are wearing on your left shoulder and the staff you hold, they are symbols of the goddess who watched over mankind, the priestess worshipped the goddess just as the embalmers did, yet we are given different gifts, the embalmers the gift of blood and the priestess the eye that sees the past"

"Indeed, I am the goddess whom you seek. I was expecting all of you."

"WAIT! I'm confused did I wish from the goddess and not a vampire witch???"

"I am called by different name my child, Lady of the mirror, Vampire witch and a lot more but I am them all. I disguised myself to live with the human's I watched over. To experience what they feel, what they fought for and what they love. Unfortunately, some are greedy for power that they seek assistance from me or whenever they knew of my identity they immediately tried to imprison me to gain control of my celestial poweress, I am saddened by such."

"We are honored that you have grace us with your presence, M'lady" Master Kevin bowed politely

"SWEET! Hitting three birds with one stone! I knew she was a beauty!" Eli grinned

"I see." I kept my gaze at this goddess, this woman possessed all three beings. Everything I know was fabricated by lies and deceit. I'm such a fool

"I presumed you are here to break the seal you wished for a long time ago?" The goddess spoke.

"Yes! If you can please--" I forgot all formalities and quickly replied

"Forgive me child I cannot abide by such request" The goddess hung her head low

"Why ever not! Do you require another sacrifice in exchange???" I retaliated

"Not at all, giving up half of your life span is already a great sacrifice and you also have wished no matter what happened I must not break the spell"

"That doesnt make any fucking sense! Im fucking stupid for wishing that!"

"Calm down Norton..." Aesop placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled. As soon as the goddess saw Aesop she gave him a relieved smile

"I am truly glad I get to see you well my child. They have done awful things to you, your past lives have suffered countless times"

"I...I've heard..."

"Yet, Here you are alive and well." The goddess stood up her throne,"I admire you both, no matter what happens you always find a way to see each other. Your bond must be quite strong and genuine."

"Then why won't you help us?" I spoke bluntly

"I have...when I saw you in deep pain my dear child, I was engulfed in pure sadness, you prayed every single time when your lover died, wished that it is you who should have died instead but your prayers were unanswered. I was heartbroken, your last resort is to visit my shrine and wished for you to forget the pain...seeing your lover die over and over again caused a great trauma in you. You might have forgotten but your eyes shows deep sadness."

I sighed,"I still want to remember how I used to love Aesop."

"Why are you fixated in that Norton?" Aesop released my shoulder looking at me with concern

"Because I love you dammit!"

"No you dont you love the other me..."

"They're all you! I love all of you!"

"You're just confused."

"Don't you love me?"

"I...no..."

"I don't buy it!"

"Well start buying it, I don...I dont..."

"You don't, what!?"

"Lo...love you..."

"You even stammered! You must be hurt saying that crap! Admit it, you mig--"

"Stop you two okaaay! I'm sure you two love each other and you're both scared and that's a NORMAL thing! You two experienced something tragic in the past but come on! You can't stay in the past forever! We can all change that!" Eli gave an enthusiastic comment. Everyone looked quite perplexed what will do in this situation

The goddess let out a sharp breath and extended her hand

"I will give you an option."

We all stared at each other and back at her. She gave us condescending smile and speak once again

"I will invite you to join in a survival game." With a snap of the goddess fingers, each of us gain a letter in hand,"Each and everyone of you will receive your own title. The rules are simple and will be explained when you enter the game but this will cause all of you to lose your memory and will only be regained once you have abided by the rules and win."

"What the hell this is bullsh*t! Why would we join something like that!?" I retorted and give the letter back. The goddess only shook her head to me

"The reward will be something greater, something that your hearts desire and it is eternal. I assure you it will be something to look forward to. Each letter is sealed, once you open it, you must pierce yourself and let your blood drop on it for you to be able to enter the game. And if you are confused about your wish, the letter knows your heart's desire"

"So, It's a magical letter" Eli flipped the letter back and front. The goddess only nodded.

"This is quite interesting if you ask me. Count me in." Fiona immediately opened her letter, unravelling the contents inside. We watched as her eyes widened in shock and her lips curled up in a smile

"Wow. Me next!" Eli followed fiona and the same features were written on his face,"I... see... I didn't know the letter have this kind... of information and even things I don't know and was bound to know... ?"

"Then perhaps it is time that I turned a new leaf." Master Kevin opened his and with an empty expression but one can tell by the glow of his eyes, It is really something he desire in the content

"I wanted to know what I want for myself too..." Aesop turned his, I watched him as he did. His eyes fluttered profusely,"How extraordinary..." The silver haired chuckled and turned to me, "Aren't you going to open yours?"

"I... don't know... I'm kind of scared what will happen and what it's in it... there are still so many questions I want to ask and want to know... and to forget it again!?" Aesop placed a hand on my face and stared at me with his beautiful silver eyes

"Trust me. Once you opened it. All your questions will be answered."

A sharp breath escaped my mouth. I hold onto my letter tightly and opened it slowly.

"Hey Norty!"

"Mhm...?"

I feel groggy.

I slowly stood up lying on the grass and stare at this blonde boy, with palish skin and have freckles on his face as he smiled at me with his big dopey smile. This is Mike Morton, the acrobat and my friend. He always finds a way to disturb me in my sleep, I was about to yawn when he yanked my arm forcefully and dragged me inside the manor.

"Seriously, Mike. please stop bothering when I'm resting... I've been playing non-stop this month." I complained giving myself a heavy weight but Mike was persistent snagging my arm

"No complains! It's a special day todayyyyy~ we're getting new costume for the next season! New hunter too, I heard she's really scary!"

He's not listening. Well, whatever. I'll let Mike do whatever he wants. We we're almost at the dining area when we passed by the embalmer. My eyes fixated on him and he immediately ran away and hide. What was that about? That guy is really weird. He never liked interacting with others and what's weirder is that he always have this look that's piercing to my soul but he never talked to me.

"Everyone please take a seat. It's time to discuss the new season."

I stretched my back and waited at this endless boring discussion. I was staring off the distance when all of a sudden, Aesop sat beside me and whispered

"Better keep your promise to me, Norton."

"Huh?"

"A promise of a lifetime"

AESOP THE EXORCIST

Everyone pricked their fingers to seal the contract that the goddess have inquired us about as for me, I didn't and kept my eyes on her. She seemed quite perplexed with my actions. She walked up to me with a smile.

"Is there something else that is bothering you, My child?"

"Not at all. In fact, all of my questions have been answered and I don't wish for anything and to my surprise I desire nothing. My letter is blank." I showed the goddess what I have in my hand.

"Intriguing. I wondered why. Perhaps, you are the one to shape your own destiny?"

"If that is correct then my memories will not be erased?"

"Who knows."

"Another sacrifice for Norton, huh? I will remember and yet he will forget. Such as my fate"

"Is that true? I have a strong gut feeling, you remember everything all along."

My eyes were wide agape, I glance at the goddess who have this mischievous smile on her face. She summoned a large mirror and flashed multiple memories of mine. I gave her a smirk in return

"What a sharp goddess you are."

"I watched over mankind for centuries my child, One cannot fool me easily. I believed you recalled all your past selves when you reached the age of 19. It often happens with the past versions of you. Plus, want me to enlighten you why did I noticed your memories have returned as of late?"

"I wish to know."

"First of all, the fact that you were the last surviving Embalmer, the night your whole clan were brutally murdered is quite a shock. You sleep walked and rest outside your manor that night, your body must have sensed the danger and when you returned everyone was gone and you ran to the woods... and so the story goes."

I nodded while I listen to her. That time I'm not yet 19 so my memories of avenging and all of that were still muddled by the new life I'm leading but when I agreed to be sacrificed I remembered and then I saw Norton.

"Second, when you saw Norton being attacked by a group of exorcist, the reason you didn't shoot him is because you knew he was the Vampire you loved in your past life and the fact that you trusted him as soon as you meet him is a sure-fire your memories of him have never vanished."

I chuckled,"You're quite observant, My lady goddess. I was testing if he will remember me once he drank my blood. Unfortunately, he did not. So, I still tried to mingle with him."

"You kept a poker face up until the end, My child. Do you not wish for him to love you like he did again?"

"Not that I do not want to. I've seen him sacrificed himself for my sake and my strong desire to be with him... keep my soul intact in this world... I wish to break the cycle, Norton deserved better..."
"Is that a wish?"

"Huh?"

"If that is your wish, I can grant your next life. The peace and love you two have always wanted."

"I thought you cannot break the curse?"

"Did I say that?" The goddess giggled,"I'll make an exception then. Only if, you survived and win the game, on your next life as the Embalmer and the Prospector and I promised your next life as the Trickster and him, being the Patchwork, you two shall be united. I cannot promise how or what kind but believe me, your fate shall cross once again."

"I..."

"Do we have a deal, Aesop Carl?" The goddess extended her hand

I looked at the goddess deep in the eyes and grinned, I shook her hand,"The deal is on. I'll win this game together with Norton."

The Contract is sealed.
