---------
London's P.O.V.
I ran into my house through the back door, realizing that I had forgotten to lock my front door on the way out, and locked it quickly. As I turned around, I bumped into something and fell down to the floor, slightly screaming.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you Ay-"
I looked up at the towering figure above me, my body trembling in fear.
"London?!" It said slightly startled.
I suddenly recognized the voice and my eyes widened.
My voice trembled as I tried to spit out the name of the voices' owner "B-B-Blade?"
"Is it really you? London, is it really you?" The figure asked dropping to their knees.
Their face came into view and I saw the one thing I thought I would never see again.
"It's you,Blade...it's really you." My voice cracked as I threw my arms around his neck.
I felt my small figure being picked up off the ground and lifted into the air.
I was pulled into his arms and my feet dangled just a few inches off the ground.
"London, I thought I would never see you again." Blade sobbed.
I noticed another figure behind him and I was about to scream when he put his hand over my mouth.
"Don't worry, I'm friendly.", he chuckled, " I'm Blade's best friend. We gotta be quiet though."
I nodded and he released his hand from my mouth.
And as Blade placed me back on the ground, an angry voice appeared from the back doorway.
"What the hell, Blade?!"
Blade turned around and looked at a girl in ripped jeans and a red tank-top who had her gun out pointed straight at me.
"Aya! Calm down! You need to lower your voice. The walkers could hear!" Kai hissed.
"Butt out, Kai. I've got a bone to pick with Blade and whoever this girl is here. But I still have to talk with you two about curfew issues." Aya ordered, squinting her eyes in Kai's direction then looking back at Blade and me.
"Aya, there's more to the story here than you think.", Blade said, trying to convince the girl who was in the doorway.
"B-Blade? Who is this?" I managed to say.
My heart was racing a million miles per hour and was practically in my throat.
A hand was placed on my shoulder and I knew it wasn't Blade's and I jumped slightly.
"It's okay, I'm not gonna hurt ya. I'm Grey, and that's Aya. And I believe you've met Blade and Kai." A tall man said from behind me.
"I think we need to crash here for the night. Is that okay, London?" Kai asked.
"Um, yeah. If you guys need showers, I've got running water, but don't use all the hot water."
They all dropped their jaws and stared at me...all except Aya.
"Wait...you mean to tell me that you have running water here?" Grey asked dumbfounded.
I nodded nervously. Although I had just let complete strangers into my house, something was comforting about them. I already knew Blade, and I trusted Kai and Grey, but something about Aya was off.
After my little thought, Grey asked me several more questions before I lead them all up to the three showers that were in my house, of course, that was after I had locked up the house.
Blade let everyone else take showers before himself, (typical for being Blade), and decided to figure out sleeping situations and night shifts.
I rubbed my arms through my long-sleeved shirt. I didn't want him to know what I had done to myself. Not now, not ever.
"So, have you been takin' your meds?" He asked.
"Huh?" I asked looking up from my journal entry that I had wrote earlier today.
"Your meds? Have you taken them?"
"Oh, I kinda stopped taking them this week." I confessed sheepishly.
"London! You need to take them! If you don't, you knows what'll happen! Especially the one important pill your parents gave you! You know you need to take that one at least!" He scolded.
"Well, I haven't had anyone tell me otherwise!" I huffed.
"What do ya mean, London? What kind of excuse is that?!Just 'cuz nobody's around doesn't make it right to stop taking your meds! You need to take them! Even though everyone's gone..." He mumbled the last part so low that I couldn't hear.
I looked down at the ground, finding my feet interesting for some reason, trying to escape my own problems.
I could feel my feelings bubble up inside me, all of the things that have happened in the last few hours seemed almost impossible to me. I never thought I would see anyone ever again. Especially not Blade. He of all people I thought was gone. But now, I know that I was just delusional and I was convincing myself that I was all alone in this empty world.
"I thought you were gone though..." I muttered under my breath ; still staring off into space.
"What? London!! *snap* *snap*. Hey! Anyone home?!"
"Huh? Oh...yeah. Sorry.", I said softly, "I ran out of my depression pills a while ago and I'm kinda low on everything else. I know that I was given a years supply, but I think that it was a screw-up. I only have about a few days worth now."
Blade looked down at the ground with me and sighed.
"Tell me," Blade paused,"how long have you been in this house? You had to have left at least a few times...or have you been holed up in here this whole time?"
I hesitated but eventually said, "I left once...and that was today. I haven't left the house since the quote end quote 'infection' spread across the country."
Blade clenched his fists in anger and stood up.
"Why?! Why did I wait so long to try and find you? If I had tried earlier, you would've been safer with my group and I! And you were here the whole time!!!" He ranted on.
I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a hug and just held him.
"I don't care about that. Don't put the blame on yourself! I would've waited till the end of time in order to be with you again. And now I don't have to do that...because you found me instead. I don't care if you leave me again I-"
Before I could finish, I found myself in his arms with him kissing my lips. I never felt this feeling towards anyone before. I've never kissed anyone I wanted to. It's amazing...my body is burning, my heart is beating so fast in my chest it feels as if it will burst out, and I feel as if I will go limp in his arms.
He pulled away and looked me in the eyes before saying, "Don't say another word. I won't leave you. Not again. I already lost too many people. I can't believe I found someone I love and care for that I thought was long gone...and now I'm holding her in my arms. I will never leave you alone again."
I blushed a really dark shade of red and turned my head to try to hide it, but Blade chuckled and I knew he had seen it.
Damn, he saw me blushing. I've never done that before, so why now? I used to be so cold-hearted, I never gave an expression for any feelings...and when I met him, he changed me for the better. I guess deep down, I always knew someone would do something like this to me if I ever saw him again...but then again ; he was always like this towards me...
Blade's P.O.V.
I saw London blushing and I couldn't help but chuckle.
"What are you embarrassed that I kissed my girlfriend?"
"G-Girlfriend?" London stuttered.
"You're saying you don't remember? You were my girlfriend before everything happened..."
"Girlfriend?!" I heard a voice screech.
"Oh, are you already done with your shower?" London asked peeking over my shoulder.
"No sh*t! Of course I am! And what is with the whole girlfriend thing and why did you kiss her of all people?!
I suddenly knew who's voice it was.
Aya.
"Calm down, Aya. I just gave London a kiss. I haven't seen her since I left to go to the front-lines in the army about six months ago."
"Holy crap! It's been that long?!" London said astounded.
"B-but, Blade. I thought you loved me." Aya said weakly, clutching the towel wrapped around her body.
I turned away and thought before I said something unthinkable.
London's P.O.V.
"Where did you get that idea? You never asked me, and I sure as hell didn't ask you..." Blade said blankly.
"Blade, you don't have to be mean. Aya, I don't know what's going on with you guys, but you two should talk it out." I suggested giving Blade a slight push towards Aya.
By now, Aya was letting small tears roll down her face. I felt sorta bad for her in a way.
"No! I think it's over for us. But we should discuss your problem about pills." She said calmly.
"So you were eavesdropping on us. That's not very nice, Aya." I said furrowing my eyebrows.
"I know, but it got very interesting and I only take a two minute shower anyways, so when I was done I could hear you two talking about stuff so I decided to listen."
"It's okay, I forgive you! There's some pajamas in the third cabinet to the left in my dresser that should fit you. Now, I'm gonna go downstairs to grab my meds and I'll be right back!" I said cheerfully.
Right before I left the room I heard her whisper, "You stupid b*tch", in my ear.
~~~~~~~~~~
Warning!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~
Aya just scoffed and I headed out of the room, shutting the door behind me.
I put a hand over my mouth, silencing the sobs that were about to come out. I ran into my bathroom that Aya had taken a shower in, (luckily no one was in it), and shut the door locking it so nobody could come in.
I open my bathroom drawer that had a piece of glass in it and rolled up my sleeves. All of my scars and cuts were visible now.
I brought the piece of glass to my wrist and dragged it across my skin. I hissed in pain and continued to cry.
'Yes, continue to cut! Relieve all of your stress! It'll make it better.'
A voice could be heard in the back of my head saying things similar to the first one.
'No one will ever care about you! It's just as simple as that. Now continue to release all of that stress!'
I drag once more, letting the red liquid ooze out of my wrist. I continue to cry and I see a small collection of islands of blood on the tiles on the bathroom floor. I had opened up old wounds, along with new ones, leading to an even bloodier mess than the last time I did this.
I suddenly hear knocks on the door.
I slid against the bathroom counter and onto the floor.
"Go...away." I say between sobs.
"London? Are you okay? Open up!"
Kai...
"I'm...fine, Kai. You...*sniff* can just...* cough* go to bed." I choke.
"I can tell you're not fine. Open up. I have the key, so either way, I'm coming in." I heard him fumbling with the lock.
'How the hell did he get the key?!' I thought to myself.
I bring my knees to my chest, still holding the bloody piece of glass in my fingers.
The door swings open and I hear footsteps walk towards me.
"*gasp*, London! What the HELL?! What did you do to yourself?! Blade! Grey! Get in here! NOW!" Kai said crouching down to my side, holding one of my arms.
I heard footsteps running down the hallway, several in fact.
Grey walked in first and grabbed the piece of glass out of my hand and threw it across the floor. My arm was still in Kai's grasp but I just put my head on my knees trying to distract myself from everyone.
"London? Look at me." I heard a stern voice say.
I looked up for a second and saw Grey with a concerned look on his face.
"Tell me why."
"Huh?" I asked confused.
"I said tell me why. As in why you did this. You have several different ones. Some are older than others, and then there are newer ones. So, tell me why you did it." He ordered while examining my arms.
I sighed in defeat and looked up at him with my puffy, swollen eyes.
"I did it because of stress. And I've been doing it for other reasons as well. I just don't know how to explain it." I confessed, a tear dripping down my face.
'Anxiety, stress, insanity, medicine, loneliness, all of these things, and because of what Aya said : " You Stupid B*tch...". I wish I was never born....' I thought to myself. I wish I could say all of this stuff, but I just can't...
Grey swept away the tear with his thumb and held my face with his hand. I could tell he knew I was lying. It was all over his face.
"This isn't the right choice and you know it. You can do so much better than cutting. You need to know you're not alone now. You could've died alone, but you won't. Don't throw away a perfectly good beginning. And I promise that we won't leave you." Grey comforted me as he pulled me into a hug.
I sobbed into Grey's shoulder, unaware that my blood was still dripping down my arms and onto the floor.
"London...."
I wasn't going to face him. Not after all of this. I just couldn't. I'd be a complete and utter disappointment to him.
"Come over here..."
I was gently pushed back into someone's arms, and I still didn't dare to open my eyes. My head was in the center of his chest...but I still didn't look up to face him.
Those same arms that lead back to the voice snaked their way around my waist and pulled me into a hug.
Surprisingly enough, a kiss was planted on my forehead. I had no choice but to open my eyes and look at the person holding me.
I was starting to feel dizzy, and my vision wasn't all that great either. But I could make out the simple face structure , and I could tell who it was by his messy, dark brown hair.
"Blade... I-" I was silenced by a hand going over my mouth and another hand pulling my small frame closer to his chest than I was before. His scent was almost intoxicating. He had a faint smell of blood on him, but that just made it more intoxicating.
"Don't say anything. Just look and listen to me.", Blade said softly," I don't understand why you would do this, but obviously you did it on purpose. Being alone and staying holed up in a moldy, dingy house has done more damage to you than I thought. Tomorrow, you're coming with us to our base camp down by the edge of Atlanta. Just know this...no matter what happens, I will love you no matter what choices you make. I will probably be disappointed, happy, sad, or even mad, but I will still love you...no matter what."
He stood me up and grabbed both of my wrists and examined them. Both of them had pretty deep cuts and needed to be cleaned.
"Where's the first-aid kit? I know how to clean and stitch wounds." Kai blurted out.
"Second cabinet to the right of the sink" I replied, slightly slurring the last few words.
He nodded and found it easily. I sat on the bathroom counter and waited. The next part I hated the most. He dampened a cotton ball with hydrogen peroxide and dabbed it on all of the cuts.
"Sh*t!" I hissed.
"Calm down, it'll only make it worse." Kai said calmly.
"Since when have you been so good at medical stuff, Kai?" Blade asked Kai suspiciously.
"Oh! Well, you know our friend back at base camp, Carla, right? And how she's a doctor? Well, I've been taking up on lessons from her about how to do this kind of stuff." Kai said, finishing wrapping a bandage around my arm.
I looked around the bathroom from where I was sitting, ( the bathroom counter), and I started to feel dizzy.
And before I knew it, I had blacked out from blood loss.
