6 - Daylight

(Long chapter ಥ‿ಥ, mom sorry *insert dk's voice)

"I'm still saying, it's useless to meet them," Hoshi whined as the Serenity Stylth made its way to a venue where the meeting was organized by the Rose Quartz Stylth.

"Don't worry Hoshi, it will be fine." Joshua reassured.

"As if." Hoshi rolled his eyes.

"Will you guys shut up for a while?" Jeonghan let out an irritated sigh.

"What's wrong with him?" Mingyu whispered to Joshua in concern.

"I'm sorry." Jeonghan apologised for the abrupt outburst.

"It's fine hyung." Hoshi patted the older's back.

"Welcome to Rose Quartz." Seokmin greeted the four vampires with his signature smile.

"He's way too happy, isn't he?" Hoshi mumbled to Mingyu, "Have they planned something against us?"

"They better not." Mingyu replied.

Joshua avoided eye contact with Seokmin. He was standing right next to Jeonghan and even the slightest hint would be enough to turn the leader suspicious of their secret dating.

"Hyung." Seokmin called Jeonghan as if it was a long-awaited reunion. For a moment, he almost forgot that they were meant to be enemies.

Jeonghan wanted to adore him like he once used to do. After all, his hatred was exclusive to Seungcheol only. He craved to provide his entire affection to the other three, Wonwoo, Woozi and Seokmin.

But all of them were bound by unspoken rules. No one was there to check on them but the situations were far more messed up than one could think.

One mistake and everything would worsen. And those mistakes included letting out their warm and affectionate side.

Jeonghan didn't mind Seokmin addressing him informally. That was the most he could ask for at this point.

"Where are we headed?" Jeonghan asked, suppressing his overwhelming emotions.

"I'll show you the way." Seokmin led them to a huge hall where Wonwoo and Woozi were already seated.

Everyone in the room greeted each other. Jeonghan almost chuckled affectionately after meeting his younger ones.
--

"Jeonghan hyung! Jeonghan hyung! Where are you?"

"What happened, Seokmin?" Jeonghan turned towards Seokmin as he landed right beside him on the sofa.

"Woozi hyung is being mean again." Seokmin complained, "He yeeted me away."

Jeonghan cackled at the choice of words, "What are you saying?"

"What was I supposed to do?" Woozi defended himself while slamming his hand on his laptop, "He spilled MY coffee on MY laptop and now this dumb shit is not working. My project is stuck because of him. He should be grateful that I only yeeted him away."

"Calm down Woozi." Jeonghan snapped his fingers to which the laptop was back to normal.

"How did you do this?" Wonwoo was amazed, "None of our spells were working on it."

"You guys are still learning." Jeonghan ruffled Seokmin's hair who was clinging onto him, "Don't worry, you all will be prodigies very soon."

And somehow after a while, Woozi, who generally avoided skinship was resting his head on Jeonghan's lap. Seokmin was already clinging onto him and Wonwoo rested his head on his shoulders. And Jeonghan wouldn't ask for anything more than his non-blood-related family by his side.
--

'Good old days.' Jeonghan sighed as he recalled the cheerful past, 'I wish I would have never left. Was I too selfish to do so?'

But he wasn't the only desperate one. The other three members of the Rose Quartz Stylth were craving their hyung's affection as much as the older one was.

Seokmin's eyes were blurry due to the tears forming in them. Wonwoo silently consoled him while Woozi just fiddled with his pen trying to distract his mind.

No one in the room spoke a single word. Everyone was lost in their own dreamland where everything was in accordance with their demands.

It was when all of Jeonghan's regrets faded away as Seungcheol walked in. His softening expressions turned back to cold and uninteresting ones as the leader of Rose Quartz made his way into the hall. The way too formal greeting ceremony began again after which everyone took a seat.

Now it was Seungcheol's turn to adore the faces in front of him. Now, he was the one who felt giddy while sitting against the people who were supposed to be his enemies.
----

"You lost!!" Hoshi started to jump excitedly after defeating Seungcheol's score on the basketball machine.

"Yahh shut up now."Mingyu rolled his eyes.

"Why? Why?" Hoshi teased, "What's the score? You and Seungcheol hyung lost against me and Joshua hyung."

"We're the best team." Joshua shared a high-five with Hoshi.

"You cheated!" Mingyu whined, "When Cheol hyung was gone, Joshua hyung distracted me. How can your score boost up from 48 to 62 in just a few seconds without cheating?"

"Yahh don't be salty Mingyu." Hoshi continued to tease, "Just accept your defeat and go buy Seokmin the sneakers you promised him."

"And you return Cheol hyung's hat that you stole from his wardrobe." Mingyu clapped back.

"And you-"

"Okay guys, stop fighting." Seungcheol intervened, "Who is up for ice-cream?"

"Me!" All three of them yelled in unison.

"Of course." Seungcheol laughed while adoring the younger ones, "Let's go."
----

'Good old days.' Seungcheol scoffed internally, 'Where did it all go wrong?"

Jeonghan cleared his throat to break the silence, "Since you organised this meeting, you should start first."

Seungcheol nodded, "So we all already know the motto of this meeting. There are five humans right? I think we need more increment in our strength because we are in charge of the East Coast. It is a direct gateway for the demons while the West Coast is guarded by the forest and elves."

"You are aware that the elves are potentially not able to withstand the stronger demons right?" Jeonghan pointed out, "Instead we need more increment in our strength because we have the responsibility of the elves as well."

"We're collectively in charge of protecting the elves." Wonwoo stated.

"But the forest is comparatively closer to us." Mingyu reasoned, "It is very much possible that everything would be set on fire and the Rose Quartz wouldn't even get a hunch of it."

"Same goes with us?" Woozi cocked a brow, "You would still be at advantage since the elves can combine their powers with you until we receive the alert. What about us?"

"Yeah, we do have an advantage." Hoshi smirked, "We were the first one to escort those humans. Technically, we have full rights to them."

"Indeed." Joshua added, "We were the ones to lift their trust issues and arrange everything for them. You guys did literally nothing."

"We made them trust us as well." Seokmin intervened, "Yes you all prepared a place for them to live and all but still we spent our resources as well."

"Guys." Hoshi stood up and used a convincing tone, "Let's get their blood, measure it and divide it equally."

"You are not serious, are you?" Wonwoo fixed his glasses.

"Why? It won't work?" Seokmin mumbled, "I mean that's an easy solution."

Mingyu laughed, "No that won't work. We aren't filling our blood bank with them. We are sacrificing them to gain power."

"So like, I'm just saying-" Seokmin hesitated but Woozi cut him off, "No don't even try to, I know where you're going."

Seokmin made a dissatisfied expression to which Jeonghan grinned, "No Seokmin we won't be able to store all the powers somewhere and divide it equally. That's not something we can collect."

"How did you know I was going to say that?"

"All of us knew your thoughts Seokmin." Joshua nodded.

"After all we've been together for so long, of course-" Seungcheol halted after he realised that he was being swayed away. He cleared his throat and turned his expressions into serious ones, "Anyways, I still believe that we need more increment in our strength, we're more prone to invasions by the demons."

And for about 40-45 minutes, the meeting went on but the conclusion went nowhere. From the chaotic mess, they began to have a serious debate with each individual having a different opinion. They were practically arguing about how they 'deserved' the upper hand in this case.

"I'm exhausted." Jeonghan slammed his hand on the table to calm all the men in the room, "You called us for the meeting in order to sign a pact which would benefit us both. You very well know that Serenity has every right on those humans as we were the first to escort and settle them. Still, we're here, ready to compromise. But you, on the other hand, are trying to imply that you should have them all by yourself."

"And? Stop framing us as the bad one." Seungcheol retorted, "You don't have very good intentions either."

"Guys!" Wonwoo stood up amidst the dispute, "I think we should take a break. Let's discuss among our respective stylths and sit again for the meeting with cool minds."

Everyone agreed on the suggestion. They definitely needed to calm themselves or the meeting would end up in a war.

"I think we should drop our plan hyung." Seokmin whispered to Seungcheol, "That wouldn't be a good move."

"Don't get carried away, Seokmin." Woozi sushed him, "They're still our rivals."

"But he's right." Wonwoo backed up Seokmin, "Let's be fair here. Because in any case, if our plan fails, the situation will worsen."

"The plan is still on." Seungcheol declared, "No ifs and buts. We'll definitely succeed."

The Serenity Stylth was provided with another room for privacy while Rose Quartz stayed in the meeting hall.

Jeonghan was too stressed out so he preferred to take a stroll outside to clear his mind. While walking, he casually turned around and within a millisecond, his eyes widened. His body fell numb as if he was about to faint.

The room where the Serenity Stylth was settled earlier, wasn't visible. It was gone. He was quick to understand that the room was bounded by spells and of course not for any better.

"What are you doing here?" Jeonghan snapped his head to witness Seungcheol standing with a stern look, resting against a pillar.

"What am I doing here?!" Jeonghan felt the overwhelming rage rushing through his veins, "What have you planned Choi Seungcheol? Where is the room? Where are my fellows?"

Seungcheol pursed his lips, "Don't worry they are safe, for now." He snapped his fingers and the room appeared on the plain site once again but this time, it was caught in a complicated net of the Flair Spell.

The Flair Spell was impossible to be countered by even the most impossible powers out there. Instead, if forced, it would increase the number of loops making the spell even stronger. The only way to break that trap was to destroy its parent stone which stayed with its creator.

The special thing about this spell was that it wasn't made to actually harm the ones trapped within it until and unless the controller himself tries to.

Jeonghan furrowed his brows. No matter how powerful his teammates were, it was impossible to break out of the spell. And even if they tried to, it would simply fuel the fire.

"Sign the agreement which says that Rose Quartz can keep all those humans for the sacrifice and safely take your members away." Seungcheol stood in front of the younger with his head held high.

Jeonghan's orbs turned blazing red. He knew that to keep the spell effective, the stone must stay with Seungcheol and all Jeonghan had to do was to find the stone and destroy it. He summoned his sword and aimed it against the older, "You think I'll give up?"

Seungcheol wasn't up for a fight. Instead he was busy admiring the younger's features, it wasn't that easy to see him often. He snaked his arms around the younger's waist, pulling him closer, and whispered, "That's the only option you have, Yoon Jeonghan."

Jeonghan pushed the older through his sword, "Overconfidence is yet another flaw you've mastered."

"I'm already the most imperfect person in your eyes." Seungcheol scoffed, "I don't think I mind if you add more."

Jeonghan slammed his sword thrice against Seungcheol who just defended the outrageous attacks, "You're in great trouble."

"Not me." Seungcheol chuckled, "Your Stylth is."

"He's taking so much time." Mingyu stood up, worried, "I'll look for him."

As soon as he tried to open the door, he felt a rush of electricity run through his body. He abruptly stumbled on the ground and stood up with a confused expression.

Joshua and Hoshi hurried towards the younger after which they miserable failed to open the door as well.

"That's a trap!!" Hoshi yelled, "I told you all, I fucking told you to not to accept their invitation."

Joshua held a long breath as he tried to break out from the cage through his spells. But instead of gaining freedom, the walls of the room seemed to shift closer and the room turned smaller than it earlier was.

"What the hell?!" Mingyu used his spell as well and the same procedure was repeated.

"Don't!" Joshua gulped, "Don't try to use the counter spells."

"It's that bullshit Flair Trap." Mingyu slammed his hand against the wall.

"What- What about Jeonghan hyung?!" Hoshi looked at the other two who were as restless as him.

"They're already trying to break through." Seungcheol laughed, "And the room is getting smaller."

Jeonghan tried to link the other three but it was of no use, "I swear if something happens to them, you're done for."

"That won't be my fault." Seungcheol walked towards the younger, "Hand me the humans and save them. Give up on your greed, simple as that."

"My greed?" Jeonghan let out a mocking grin, "It's pretty obvious who's being greedy here. Stop it Seungcheol, you look pathetic."

"And what did I say about that?" Seungcheol stared into the younger's eyes, "I. Don't. Care."

Jeonghan scoffed. He knew that small fights and negotiations were a waste of time. He had to make a quick move to snatch the stone from Seungcheol.

So he finally decided to use the powers he had been hiding for years. He cast a spell but this time, instead of a red storm, there was a blue one and within a second, Seungcheol froze in his place.

He could sense, feel, see, hear, listen and think about everything but his body refused to move even by an inch. And over that, the extreme cold sensation of ice wasn't helping at all.

He was taken aback about what just happened to him. Jeonghan was a vampire and they were never trained to play with water or ice. They were the masters of fire and were supposed to burn the world down when required. Then how? How was he stuck in the huge chunk of ice which was actually a spell cast by a vampire?

"You're probably confused right?" Jeonghan enjoyed the older's misery, "All thanks to you Seungcheol. When I had left this place after your betrayal, I wasn't wandering around like a beggar as you must have thought. A lot happened in those years, both fortunate and unfortunate. This, is one of the examples."

"You aren't supposed to carry both fire and water elements with you." Seungcheol struggled to let those words escape through his mouth.

"That's none of your damn business." Jeonghan approached the older. He started to wander his hand all over his frame to find the stone. From the head to the neck, to the shoulders, to the thighs to the toes, he thoroughly investigated the older.

The proximity was overwhelming for both of them but Jeonghan's priority was to find the stone rather than concerning himself with useless things.

Seungcheol smirked, "If you're going to continue this for a while, just kiss me instead."

Jeonghan reacted by piercing a small ice chunk into Seungcheol's shoulder and continued his job.

Seungcheol pretended to get hurt as the small scar was nothing in front of the ice numbing pain, "Ouch! Hurts!"

"You deserve it." Jeonghan mumbled as he stared back at the older, "You claimed yourself as my weakness yesterday, but seems like it's the other way round."

"It's mutual." Seungcheol retorted, "I'm still ready to forget everything that has been happening in the past few years and start fresh. But guess what, you would never agree on it."

"After you planned this shitty trap." Jeonghan pierced yet another ice block, "Of course I won't."

"Why do you keep hurting me when you cry over it later?" Seungcheol chuckled bitterly.

Jeonghan halted from whatever he was doing. Now the older's words were definitely affecting him. No matter how much he tried to ignore that feeling but he had to accept that his heart ached every time Seungcheol would get hurt and that too because of him.

"Let's stop it Jeonghan." Seungcheol insisted, "Why do we have to hurt each other like this? Why do we have to clash our swords when all we crave for is each other's warmth?"

Jeonghan was at a loss of words. His brain was getting numb and his senses were weakening. It was when a loud thud was heard which was from the room where the members of Serenity Stylth were trapped. The walls had shrunk even more and that's what brought the leader back to his senses.

"I'll surely believe you, the day your actions won't betray your fake concerns." Jeonghan pulled out the stone that he finally found from the older.

He immediately summoned a strong wave of thunder that disrupted the stone into an infinite number of small pieces. And with that, the other three were free from the spell.

The amount of thrilling noises brought the other members of Rose Quartz out of the meeting hall as well who were met with a hallway which seemed to be stricken by an earthquake.

"Since your plan failed." Jeonghan warned, "You've declared a war."

And with that, the Serenity Stylth walked away with extreme levels of rage and disappointment within them.

Wonwoo, Woozi and Seokmin used their spells to free their leader from the frozen rock.

"So we failed." Wonwoo sighed.

"Partially." Seungcheol retorted.

"Partially?"

The leader nodded, "I knew that Jeonghan had some skills which he had been hiding from us. Today I got a hunch of them. He has mastered the elements of water and thunder along with the element of fire which we all already own."

"That's a good thing for Scarlet Coast but not very good news for us." Woozi remarked.

"Let's go, we've to prepare ourselves too."

A/n : Why do I feel like I fucked up the plot lmao. Well, any theories about their past?
