"Are you ready?" Joshua confirmed as the five humans stood before him and Seokmin.
"Yeah of course!" Dino chuckled.
"They're so excited for nothing." Seokmin worriedly stated.
And that was the truth. The humans were pretty enthusiastic about the upcoming mission. They were going to be a part of magic and spells, of course it was special.
"No wonder they crossed the forest by themselves." Joshua scoffed as he pushed open the huge door.
"Woah!" Seungkwan gasped as they witnessed the huge room whose sole source of light was a golden yellow gem kept in the exact center of the room.
The rest of the things gave the vibes of vampires. The chandlers, the red aesthetics, everything screamed royalty.
"This place is very important for us." Seokmin explained, "You can call it the core essence of Scarlet Coast."
"Okay let's not waste more time." Joshua walked towards the gem, "You guys, take a seat around it."
The humans complied and sat in a circle which also made a star shape according to the lines being drawn over their heads as the two vampires read the spells.
The humans closed their eyes as the ritual began. They didn't feel anything at first but soon their hands began to go numb. They could feel the cold rush through their veins as the warmth of their body began to reduce.
"Only you two?" Jaebyeom laughed hysterically as he witnessed only Jeonghan and Seungcheol at the battlefield, "Where are your other so called warriors? Ran away? Cowards."
"You better worry about yourself Mr. Yoon." Jeonghan mocked as he and Seungcheol flew to land right in front of him.
"And you better call me dad and side with me." Jaebyeom chuckled.
"So now you need me by your side to win? Who's the coward now?" Jeonghan squinted his brows, "And about the dad thing, I'll better call you a bastard."
"Seungcheol? Does he treat you like this too?" Jaebyeom looked at him, "Is he ignorant towards your feelings too?"
"How many times do I have to tell you to mind your own fucking business?" Seungcheol growled, "You don't have to worry about how he treats me."
Jeonghan and Seungcheol surrounded Jaebyeom only to attack him through their swords one by one.
Jaebyeom defended himself while chuckling, "You both are going to fight against me together? 2 vs 1?"
"Does that scare you?" Jeonghan cocked a brow, "Do you know what kind of death I've planned for you? The most unjust one. You ain't dying in satisfaction. Let your soul burn in hatred, agony and what not."
"Is that so?" Jaebyeom swung his weapon, "Bring as many as you can. I'm not dying."
"Being overconfident is yet another thing that will bring you down." Seungcheol stated as the sword fight continued.
He jumped over the demon only to scratch his back while Jeonghan's sword cut his left leg.
But Jaebyeom was quick to get his scars healed almost instantly, not a big deal.
It was when he started to feel dizzy. When he looked around, many demons were fading away in thin air.
When he looked up, it clicked his mind that there was no fake sunlight anymore. It was real.
Jeonghan and Seungcheol felt weak too but their condition was much better than the demons.
"This is just a trailer of your downfall." Seungcheol gritted his teeth as his sword struck the demon's arm. And the scar didn't heal as usual.
Jeonghan made another strike at his shoulder. Both of the vampires were making sure that none of their attacks killed him. No, he had to suffer a lot of torture before actually dying.
They read a spell to create a cloud of glass pieces which were aimed at Jaebyeom. When that treacherous cloud hit him, he got a lot of deep scars on his body.
But all of a sudden, those scars began to heal. He wasn't feeling dizzy anymore as his grip on his sword tightened.
Jaebyeom smirked, "Plan A, failed." He rushed towards the vampires, scarring their arms at once.
"How-" Jeonghan looked up, "The real sunlight is gone."
"I think they couldn't endure it." Seungcheol stated.
"How sad." Jaebyeom laughed, "You really took help from humans to beat me? Humans? How pathetic."
"What the-" Minghao huffed as cold rushed through his veins.
"I don't think I can hold it anymore." Jun mumbled to himself as the ritual continued.
Seungkwan was the first to scream as the pain was unbearable for the humans.
"Seungkwan, it's fine, we can do it!" Vernon tried to console him but he was himself weakening.
"I feel like I'll die." Dino sweared as he felt the body numbing pain.
"Stop." Joshua ordered and the spell broke.
The humans instantly fell on the ground while whimpering in pain.
Joshua and Seokmin rushed towards them in concern.
"Why- why did y-you sto-stop?" Jun managed to speak.
"Why did we stop?" Seokmin stared at him in disbelief, "Look at yourself and then speak."
"We could have endured it." Minghao wiped the tears that had unconsciously formed in his eyes.
"Shut up." Joshua squinted his brows, "You all are very stubborn. We already told you that it won't be easy."
"It's enough now, no need to do anything anymore." Seokmin massaged his forehead, "We'll take you back to the HQ and shield you to rest."
The humans barely nodded as they were falling unconscious. It was the effect of the ritual as well as the spell of the vampires to put them in deep sleep.
"Calling us and them pathetic but almost died because of them." Seungcheol smirked back, "Hypocrite."
Joshua and Seokmin arrived at the scenario.
"Are they fine?" Jeonghan worriedly asked.
"Yeah don't worry." Joshua assured, "Sorry we couldn't continue, they were suffering a lot."
"No you did the right thing." Seungcheol nodded
"Now what do we have to do with him?" Seokmin referred to the demon.
"What do you mean by that?" Jaebyeom asked, "Are you objectifying me?"
"Shut up, will you?" Seokmin scrunched his nose in disgust.
"Wow, you really don't respect me huh?"
"As if you deserve any." Joshua rolled his eyes.
As soon as they were going to resume the fight, the war between the demons and vampires around them stopped.
More accurately, the demonic army had stopped so the vampire warriors stood confused over what was happening.
Within a snap of a second, all the demons turned towards their leader and were ready to attack him.
"What the fuck is wrong with you bastards?" Jaebyeom yelled but the demons didn't seem to stop.
Jeonghan recited a spell which shielded Jaebyeom from the demons, saving him from them.
"What did I tell you earlier Mr. Yoon, the sunlight was just a trailer." Seungcheol grinned, "The actual plan begins now."
"Joshua, Seokmin, cage all the demons and demolish them into ashes." Jeonghan ordered, "They won't fight back now. Manage our army accordingly."
"Yeah fine."
"Let's go." Seungcheol gestured as both the vampires flew in the sky along with Jaebyeom who was trapped in their spell.
Within a moment, they landed in an empty ground as Jaebyeom was set free from the spell.
"What's happening?" Jaebyeom yelled in frustration as he recalled the horrifying eyes of the demons when they were approaching to kill him.
"You asked where our other warriors were, right?" Seungcheol began as Jeonghan continued, "Well, you deserve to know."
"We're here." Wonwoo declared as him, Mingyu, Hoshi and Woozi stood against the huge gate of the demonic world.
"He has drowned the hell into his spell." Woozi used his power vision, "Too bad. It will consume a lot of our time."
"We'll have to finish this task as soon as possible." Hoshi intervened, "The earlier we succeed, the better it would be for the hyungs to kill him."
"Right." Mingyu agreed, "Let's go, first demolish his spell and then we have to get the time gem too."
"Yeah but make sure not to kill the demons who are minding their own business." Wonwoo reminded.
"And make sure to tear the ones apart who try to get between our task." Hoshi added.
"We'll win, no matter what." Woozi stated as all the vampires turned their orbs into deep red as they stepped on the land of demons.
Their one snap opened the huge gate as they walked into hell. As expected, they were met with a large amount of black shadows.
"Pathetic." Mingyu muttered as his sword sliced multiple souls at once, "And weak."
"Do we really need to fight these weaklings?" Hoshi scoffed, "And then they want our land, how funny."
"The only thing they need, is a reality check." Woozi reciprocated.
"C'mon, let's show them the actual hell." Wonwoo walked with determination.
The four vampires made their way through the pathway as they executed any and every demon that fell into their way. They had to burn away the spell created by Mr. Yoon to trap the demons in his filthy plan.
They couldn't demolish the hell anyways. It was also a part of the after-life doors and a crucial place. Destroying it had only one punishment, death.
They increased their pace when they saw the demonic army approaching. And within a moment, the four vampires crashed with the numerous demons.
"How the fuck did you enter our land?" A demon yelled.
Hoshi grabbed his throat, "Don't you know? We can enter anywhere and everywhere." He dug his nails into his neck as he tour the soul apart, "Easy."
A demon jumped over Woozi to take over him but the vampire shrugged him off himself, "The audacity huh?" He sliced his soul into half, "No one touches my precious skin."
"Sorry, please forgive me." A demon knelt down in front of Wonwoo when he was going to kill him. The vampire pulled him up by grabbing his throat, "No blood, no mercy." He snapped his neck to death.
"You look like a half human, let me get my meal." Mingyu pierced his fangs within the half demon's neck to suck his blood as the creature's body began to get paler. The vampire slammed his sword against his stomach marking the demon's end.
And the fight continued. The vampires kept killing the demons as if it was their playground.
"I think it's high time." Woozi nodded, "Let's get it."
The other vampires nodded as all of them together created a spell which began to surround the immense area of the demons. For a while, the black walls were engulfed within red sparks after which they started to burn.
There was fire around the vampires too but they didn't care. And why would they? Fire was their personal toy, they used to play with it.
They reached the control building where the white coloured time gem was kept. They confiscated it and walked out of the demonic world. Their task was complete, they had successfully treated fire with the spells of Jaebyeom marking the end of his reign.
They also got hold of the time gem which was going to be placed in the main HQ of Scarlet Coast. They weren't going to misuse it anyways, heck they weren't even allowed to use it. But they had the important responsibility to protect it from the creatures which were a threat to it and eventually the cycle of time.
"You bastards!!" Jaebyeom couldn't control his anger after getting to know everything.
"Stop screaming, you sound fucking pathetic." Jeonghan rolled his eyes.
"Why did you do this Jeonghan?" Jaebyeom looked down, "Why did you drop your own father's side once again? You had the chance to mend the mistakes you made in your past. Why didn't you think about your own family first?"
"Shut up, will you?" Jeonghan stared at the demon, "What family and what father? My whole childhood was you lashing out at me, beating me and blaming me for nothing. You were just a greedy man blinded by wealth. Never in my life I'm going to take your side."
"For whom?" Jaebyeom chuckled bitterly, "For him?" He pointed at Seungcheol, "He was just an outsider while I was your father."
"Yet he was always there for me and you were never." Jeonghan retorted the bitterness, "You, as my father, gave me trauma while he, an outsider, provided me with true, unconditional love. I hated him for so long just because of your filthy plan. Be happy, even if unknowingly, you influenced me for a major part of my life."
"What's wrong with you?" Jaebyeom scrunched his brows, "You're still supporting him? Wake up Jeonghan, I'm your DAD, your own blood."
"So what do I do of that?" Jeonghan summoned his sword, "Enough Mr. Yoon. You need to die now."
"No."
"Yes."
"Don't forget Jeonghan, I may have treated you wrongly but never have I ever turned my back against you as a father." Jaebyeom stated, "I provided you with all the things you needed. I had only one demand in return which was to stay away from him." He pointed at Seungcheol, "And you turned everything upside down and forgot everything I did for you. Why? For him."
"Stop it-"
"No you stop it." Jaebyeom cut him off, "What has he done for you Jeonghan? I've literally raised you and made sure that you wouldn't feel the slightest bit of discomfort. The only point where we clashed was him."
"But you always took his side? Why? Did he give you a life to live? Was he responsible for your education? Did he buy you clothes, food and luxuries? What did he do Jeonghan, what?"
"Because of him, his aunt almost killed you that day, didn't she? It's true that it wasn't his fault that the credits had changed but we all know why his aunt lashed at you. She would have done that someday even if I wouldn't have planned everything. Still, you chose to forgive him? Why?"
"Because he gave me which you never could." Jeonghan yelled, "Love! Care! Affection."
"Greedy much?" Jaebyeom chuckled bitterly, "I gave you a comfortable life to live. I too loved you. Tell me, apart from his case, did I ever scold or beat you? No, never. You wanted me to be very gentle with you when in return you couldn't even grant one wish of mine. When was a single day when you talked nicely to me? How was I supposed to be nice to you when all you did was to act like a fucking brat?"
"You never watched your own action and came here to blame me for this and that. You never loved your father either Jeonghan, don't preach about pathetic things now."
"I must appreciate you dad." Jeonghan laughed, "You're really good at twisting things. You're calling me greedy but yourself killed his parents to rule the Coast. You didn't want me to see him only because you were jealous."
"Sure you never lashed out at me if it wasn't for him. Do you know why? Because you managed to drag him into even the smallest mistakes of mine. I cried when you left us but felt even more guilty when I got to know that you had already killed uncle and aunt Choi."
"And you said you loved me? No dad, you didn't. You only kept me because you thought I would burn the whole world down for you to rule over it. But I didn't. And that's why you started to hate me. Stop justifying your actions because you bought me a few things because you would have never done that if it wasn't for your own selfishness."
"Enough." Jaebyeom mumbled, "You're fighting with me because of him right? What are you going to do if he dies?"
Before both the vampires could react, Jaebyeom aimed his sword at Seungcheol.
But before his sword could reach him, Jeonghan's sword pierced Jaebyeom's chest.
Jaebyeom's step halted as he felt the sharp metal through his soul.
And to his misfortune, Seungcheol was quick to pierce his sword through him as well.
Through the effect of the supreme swords of the two most powerful vampires, he dropped to the ground as he faded in thin air after a loud scream.
After Jaebyeom's end, Jeonghan collapsed on the ground as tears began to flow through his eyes.
Seungcheol sat beside him as he embraced the younger while caressing his back.
"What did I do Cheol?" Jeonghan sniffled, "I killed my own dad? H-how?"
"No Jeonghan, you killed a sinner." Seungcheol consoled him, "It wasn't your fault that he wasn't worth living."
It was when all other vampires gathered around the leaders. Seungcheol spread his hands out gesturing them to join the group hug.
"I'm so happy, finally we can breath in peace." Seokmin rested his head over Jeonghan's.
"Hyung don't worry, we're with you, we're your family." Mingyu chuckled as he patted Jeonghan's head.
"I love you all the most." Jeonghan muttered as he stopped crying.
"Seungcheol hyung would get jealous." Hoshi teased.
"Shut up, will you?" Seungcheol playfully smacked his head.
"Ayo why are you hitting him?" Woozi pretended to caress Hoshi's head.
"Because he's indeed jealous." Joshua laughed.
"Let's go, the humans might be waiting for us." Wonwoo suggested as everyone left to reach the Serenity HQ while laughing and joking around.
They wouldn't deny, it was the best moment of their life.
"HYUNGS!" Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino jumped as soon as they saw the vampires back into the mansion.
The vampires smiled. Take them a few months ago, would they even believe that they were whipped for humans?
And same goes with the mortals. Did they ever think that they would be rooting for vampires? No. A few months ago they weren't even sure of their existence.
But here they were. Two completely different species from entirely different worlds, clinging onto each other.
"Don't worry guys." Seungcheol chuckled, "We won!"
"That's great!" Jun remarked.
"Now you owe us an extravagant party." Minghao joked.
"That's not even a question." Jeonghan nodded.
"You all are fine right?" Mingyu asked.
"Yes hyung." Seungkwan mumbled, "And sorry for giving up so early."
"It's okay Kwan!" Hoshi assured, "Y'all did your best."
"And we're grateful to you for that." Woozi added.
All thirteen of them shared a group hug as their friendship rings shone with glory.
"Together, forever."
