"What the hell is wrong with him?" Jeonghan cursed beneath his breath as he woke up along with Seungcheol. They were alerted that the main control building of Scarlet Coast was in danger and of course it was none other than Yoon Jaebyeom.

"Let's go, hurry up." Seungcheol stood up as he wore his shirt and so did Jeonghan.

Both of them moved out of the room as they were met with the other vampires on their way in the hallway.

"Hoshi, go and check on the humans." Jeonghan ordered, "Make sure that they're shielded and put them in deep sleep. They shouldn't wake up when we're out."

The rest of the vampires made their way to the main balcony of Serenity HQ through which the army of vampires standing on the ground was visibly.

"The time has arrived." Seungcheol declared as Hoshi returned from his task as well, "ARE YOU READY TO WIN?"

"YES!" The army chanted in unison.

All of the warriors bent down to sit on one knee and bowed their heads, "Your highness!" They referred to the eight vampires, "We will fight for the well being of our beloved land, TODAY AND FOREVER!"

"Scarlet Coast!" Seokmin led the greeting.

"Always Wins!" The army followed.

"Great." Jeonghan remarked, "Now we will proceed to the battlefield."

And within a moment, the place which was earlier occupied with the demons, began to get flooded with the vampires. The shrilling noise of the weapons clashing echoed while the red and black sparks of magic spells fluttered in the air.

The eight vampires led their separate units, colliding with the demons to grasp their throats and tear their souls apart. They were reckless. This was the scene where you can actually see, that, they were indeed monsters. There was no say in that.

Without mercy, without empathy, just the terrifying fangs piercing every single soul that would interrupt their goal. Their swords slid through the demons smoothly as they were loving the blood bath.

They had gone crazy. They were loving the horrified screams of their enemies. It was the time for their sadistic side to shine brightly. They weren't the adorable and caring beings right now. Their eyes screamed hunger, hunger to kill more, hunger to dominate, hunger to gain power.

"I've been observing you all for long enough." Jaebyeom stepped into the battle but was still protected by his lead warriors, "How did you suddenly turn so vigorous?"

"Just because we treated a few humans with love, doesn't mean that our hearts have become soft." Mingyu smirked as he killed another demon, "Are you counting the score?"

"We're still those cruel creatures who can kill anyone and everyone." Hoshi growled as he tore a few souls with his bare hands.

"Of course." Jaebyeom chuckled, "Will your oh so lovely mortals love this side of yours?"

"You don't need to worry about that." Jeonghan showed up, "Dad."

"Oh look who's here, my scaredy cat." Jaebyeom laughed hysterically, "Didn't expect you to be on the battlefield when you couldn't even gather the courage to join a simple meeting, son."

"You're aware of the fact that YOUR life got spared because of it right?" Jeonghan mocked, "Or are you already done with fucking around?"

Jaebyeom's smile dropped, "Watch your mouth Jeonghan, I'm your fath-"

"You're just a motherfucking bastard." Jeonghan calmly stated, "My mom died because of YOU. Not once, not twice, I'll curse you a million times and you can't do shit about it."

"Really?" Jaebyeom cocked a brow.

"What the-" Joshua gasped as all the demons had disappeared. Only the eight vampires were left alone. The thing that was more amusing was that they were at a familiar place.

They had no idea how their location and surroundings changed so drastically.

"Our HQ?" Seokmin mumbled, "What's happening?"

"Did he play with time or something?" Woozi muttered.

"Damn we need to snatch that gem of time from him too." Wonwoo scoffed, "It's in the wrong hands."

"Oh hyung! You're back!" Seungkwan squealed as he showed up along with the other humans.

The vampires were still clueless. They were at the HQ, the humans were standing in front of them, everything looked really normal. But how?

"We were so scared when you were gone." Dino muttered.

"Uh right." Hoshi hesitantly chuckled, "You were sleeping, weren't you?"

"Yeah but we woke up." Minghao stated, "Do you expect us to sleep forever?"

"No, not at all." Jeonghan smiled as he walked towards the humans. After gesturing something to Seungcheol, he moved towards a drawer and pulled out a box of cookies, "We kinda had a win today, so let's celebrate."

"Celebrate? Of course!" Jun rejoiced.

"These are special choco-peanut cookies Joshua and I made yesterday." Jeonghan walked towards Vernon, "Let's start with you Vernon, have some?"

"Sure!" Vernon chuckled as he picked out a cookie and ate them without any hesitation.

But it was when Jeonghan pulled out a dagger from his coat and pierced it harshly into his stomach.

Yes, he did.

"HYUNG! WHAT-" Mingyu yelled but soon stopped when he saw Vernon's body fluttering into black ashes.

Everyone stood stunned as Seungcheol clenched his teeth, "They're demons disguised as humans. See? They have no shadows."

"And Vernon is allergic to peanuts, how come he himself doesn't know about it?" Jeonghan added.

Since their game was out, the other humans or more like the demons disguised as humans got ready to fight.

"Guys don't worry, we're not killing them, we're killing the demons." Joshua tightened his grip on the sword.

"Don't think before killing them just because they've the face of our beloved ones." Seokmin glared at them, "Let's go!"

"Are you going to kill us?" Seungkwan cried, "Hyung how could do this to Vernon?"

"It's a trap!" Seungcheol mumbled, "Don't get swayed, everyone."

"I told you already, we shouldn't have trusted them." Jun squinted his brows.

"They're monsters after all." Minghao added, "How can you expect them to spare us?"

"Hyung I want to run away." Dino yelled, "I don't want to see the murderer of Vernon hyung."

The vampires shut their ears through their hands. It was hard for them of course. They knew it was a facade. They knew they were being manipulated. But still they couldn't fight back.

"Guys." Hoshi yelled on the top of his lungs, "Kill them all. Because we have to save the actual humans. Please gather some courage."

It was when Woozi formed a huge metal sheet through his spell and Seokmin's spell struck it, to which the loud sound of metal striking echoed.

Everything was inaudible except for the unbearable loud noise of the metal.

The vampires wasted no time in piercing their swords through the doppelganger.

And with their end, the vampires were back on the battlefield. But it was empty, pin drop silence.

"Where did they all disappear?" Mingyu furrowed his brows.

"I think they went to the mortals." Wonwoo suggested.

"They're safely shielded right?" Woozi turned to Hoshi who was in charge of protecting them.

"Yes they are." Hoshi answered.

"Let's go, we still can't take a chance." Jeonghan nodded as all of them flew and landed on the top of Serenity HQ.

"What the fuck-" Joshua muttered in awe, "We were right."

The Serenity HQ was surrounded by numerous demons. They were trying to break the spells while the army of vampires was fighting back.

But they were lacking. It was obvious that not only the lead vampires were tricked into an illusion but also their army.

"Fuck them." Hoshi sweared as the vampires gathered in a circle. They put the edges of their swords together to generate a red spark which soon turned into a treacherous thunderbolt.

It exploded with a loud noise as all the demons around the HQ got cleared up and the vampires who were still trapped in the illusion were back as well.

Although fake, the glowing sunlight played a major role in departing the demons. It couldn't weaken them but the demons didn't prefer to fight under light. They were meant to lurk in the darkness.

Without wasting any time, the vampires rushed to check on the humans. When they saw them sleeping peacefully, they were relieved. The scars that the vampires had got, had begun to heal gradually.

"We can't underestimate him." Joshua scoffed, "I almost believed the illusion."

"It looked so real." Woozi mumbled, "And they were even acting up to mess with our minds."

"Hyungs?" Dino was the first to wake up followed by everyone, "Good morning."

"Oh no, please sleep." Mingyu intervened, "We didn't mean to wake you up. We were just checking if you were safe."

"Why do you all have these wounds?" Minghao pointed out, "And you look so disoriented, what happened?"

"Nothing Minghao, these will heal soon." Wonwoo hesitantly chuckled.

"No, were you fighting the demons when we were asleep?" Jun decoded.

"Uh yes." Seokmin revealed, "But don't worry, we'll be okay."

"Your state says otherwise." Vernon scoffed.

"We told you that we could help you with the sunlight thing." Seungkwan whined.

"No Seungkwan." Jeonghan rebuked, "Don't bring it up again."

"Why?" Minghao raised his eyebrows, "If it doesn't have a death threat, why are you not accepting this plan?"

"Because it may cause you harm." Seungcheol explained, "Death is not the only threat. We can't let you guys get even a small scar, got it?"

"Hyung please, we're not kids." Vernon rolled his eyes, "We know you care for us but please stop babysitting us."

"Exactly." Dino added, "We can endure some pain, it's nothing."

"And you all are here right?" Seungkwan tried to convince, "If we wouldn't be able to endure it, you can stop it."

The vampires fell silent as Wonwoo decided to say, "Well, we can give it a try."

"Yeah, I mean we can withdraw them if we sense danger." Mingyu agreed as everyone looked at the leaders.

"What say?" Seungcheol looked at Jeonghan who nodded, "I don't know."

"Hyung please? One chance!" Seungkwan persuaded.

"Why are you so eager to do this?" Hoshi asked, "We've already hurt your feelings previously."

"But you apologised and we're sure you are not going to harm us." Vernon explained, "Plus you've always taken care of us."

"Yes hyung, we can try it, just trust us." Jun made the final statement.

"Okay." Seungcheol patted Jeonghan's shoulder, "Let's do it. We just have to make sure that they don't get hurt. I think Joshua and Seokmin can manage this task tomorrow."

"Yes, we will." Both the said males agreed.

"Joshua, Seokmin." Jeonghan turned towards them, "Make sure to end the procedure even if a lightest whimper leaves their mouth, okay?"

"Don't worry, Jeonghan." Joshua assured, "We'll take care of them."

"But how are we going to do it?" Minghao asked.

"There's a place at the main HQ where a yellow gem is situated." Wonwoo explained, "You'll have to sit around it and both of them will read some spells. The gem will clasp you within its hold and use your warmth to produce actual sunlight."

"Woah amazing." Dino gasped.

"It's amazing to hear only." Seokmin intervened, "It might feel nothing in the beginning but as time will pass, you'll start feeling the pain."

"We're strong enough." Seungkwan shrugged.

"Okay guys, go back to your room." Seungcheol ordered the mortals, "We've to discuss a few things and you may sleep as it's still early."

The humans complied with what was told to them as they made their way into the room and locked it.

After making sure that the humans went to their rooms, Seungcheol and Jeonghan looked at the fellow vampires, "Let's got to the meeting room guys, we've got a plan."

A/n : I had a really evil plot twist in my mind but I dropped it lmaoo it would have been too much. Also I don't want to stretch the plot anymore, it has to end now because the sequel is in the line.

Don't worry, the plot which is going on here will satisfactorily end in this book. The sequel is like a spin-off. It will have a different plot with the same setup and back story!
