14 - I Don't Understand But I Love You

Mingyu was walking along the streets as he admired the cold breeze tickling his skin.

Soon enough, he heard some screams and he could clearly recognise the voice.

He rushed towards the source and found Wonwoo kneeling on the ground while blabbering complete nonsense.

It was when he envisioned the black clouds, the demons around him and the thunderbolt that was nearing him.

Mingyu immediately used his skills to shield Wonwoo as well as himself.

The demons kept strolling around the shield but Mingyu's first priority was to check on Wonwoo.

He walked and crouched down against the elder as he embraced him into a calming hug.

"Hyung! Calm down! What happened?"

Wonwoo slowly opened his eyes and stared at the younger in guilt, "I'm sorry Mingyu, I'm sorry for everything."

"What are you saying hyung, wake up!" Mingyu gently shook Wonwoo, "Calm yourself, the demons are here."

Wonwoo inhaled a deep breath but nothing seemed to help. It was when the filthy laughs of the demons were heard and Wonwoo shuddered again.

The uneven voice facade began to ring in his ears and it was unbearable to endure, "Yes you should hate me! I'm the worst. Kill me now Mingyu, I'm your culprit, please!" He mumbled making Mingyu's eyes furrow with rage.

He stood up and glared at his surroundings as the whole area outside the shield caught fire, "YOU FACELESS MOTHERFUCKERS, you've chosen death."

"Arghh! I know I don't deserve you. Let's end it here." Wonwoo's scream echoed again, gaining the younger's attention.

Mingyu immediately approached him, "Hyung, please calm down. They're playing with your mind."

But nothing worked. Wonwoo's condition was worsening every passing second.

Mingyu clenched his fists as the rage within him against the demons rose just like the fire outside the shield. But his gaze softened when he witnessed the older's vulnerable condition.

Mingyu didn't wait anymore. He cupped the older's cheeks and slammed his lips against the older's. He held Wonwoo's waist as his lips moved tenderly yet passionately.

The voices surrounding Wonwoo stopped when he felt the chills of the abrupt kiss. It seemed like Mingyu had taken control over his whole body, whole existence. He was melting into the proximity as he gradually came back to his senses.

You know me too, don't believe me
But you trusted me
I am only in you
Light up the blossoming flower, the flame

Different languages and different times
Even if you don't understand, you can understand everything
A password shared secretly between the two of us
open us both

All the words that exist in the world
It's enough for just the two of us to know each other, with all my greed
I don't understand but I love you

Mingyu placed his hand against the older's nape as he continued to engulf the older's lips into the fiery kiss. Wonwoo remained stunned as Mingyu parted and went on to place a gentle kiss on his forehead.

"I don't hate you hyung, you aren't the worst." Mingyu whispered the assuring words, "You're a really great person whom I'll always admire no matter what. Do you trust me?"

Wonwoo nodded without looking at the younger. Mingyu intertwined their hands as they both stood up, "Let's fight them, together."

"You're right." Wonwoo closed his eyes for a brief second as he inhaled a deep breath after which his orbs turned blazing red and so did Mingyu's.

Mingyu gradually removed the shield as well as the fire and now they were directly in front of the demons.

The duo's blazing eyes ignited another fire around them as they trapped the demons.

"Before they start playing with us again, kill them." Wonwoo suggested.

The fire created by them collided with the black clouds causing a ruckus between the two teams. They were using all their might to defeat each other.

Some sharp particles were hitting the duo left and right but they were getting healed by itself. It was when the demons began to back off and disappear.

"You really think I'll let you run away?" Mingyu yelled as he used his power vision to locate the demons and follow them.

"Mingyu, don't be reckless." Wonwoo warned as he followed the younger.

"No! How dare they hurt you?" Mingyu increased his speed to reach the demons and burn them down.

Meanwhile Wonwoo stood stunned with what the younger said. He was still as caring as he was in the past. Wonwoo used to think that the younger might have developed some aversion considering his behaviour but all of those degrading ideas disappeared in thin air today.

"FUCK YOU." Wonwoo heard Mingyu's outrageous words as he fought the demons. It was when he saw an attack being conspired behind the younger's back.

Wonwoo sprinted towards the battlefield and shielded Mingyu as he disrupted the anonymous souls. He summoned his sword and sliced those cloudy bodies apart as they faded into the air.

Mingyu was done with his part as well. Finally, there was silence within the place as all the demons were defeated.

And now, the duo stood in the middle of the forest, all alone. They were looking anywhere but at each other. The silence was a bit awkward but not in a negative sense.

They just didn't know what to say after they had literally gone through a make-out session just a while ago.

"Uh- I'm sorry for that." Mingyu scratched the back of his neck, "I couldn't think of anything else."

Wonwoo avoided looking at the younger, "Ye- umm- thank you for being here. I think I'll have to leave, good night." He turned around and began to leave as he tried to calm his racing heart.

"Good night~~" Mingyu intentionally spoke in an extra sweet manner. Although the elder had turned around, the sly smile on his face was evident and Mingyu loved it.

It was as if he won a mission. He chuckled to himself as he recalled the moment and the way Wonwoo reacted to it.

Maybe, the situation wasn't that bad.

"

Shua hyung?" Hoshi knocked at the door and got the consent to step in.

"Ah Hoshi, is everything alright?" Joshua looked at the younger one, "It's too late, why didn't you sleep?"

"Do you have a minute to spare?" Hoshi pursed his lips as he tried to smile.

"Of course Hoshi." Joshua sensed the hesitance in the younger's demeanor, "What happened, are you alright?"

"What's between you and Seokmin?" Hoshi asked.

Joshua's brain stopped, he was stunned by Hoshi's words, "W-what? Nothing."

"I saw you and him today." Hoshi stepped forward, "In the blossom garden. Nothing, you say?"

"Oh now I can recall." Joshua tried to stay calm as he laughed, "I went for a walk and he happened to be there."

"And? That's why you kissed him?" Hoshi cocked a brow, "Stop lying hyung. Now I understand, you go to meet him every night in the name of a small walk."

Joshua gave up. He knew he was caught and there was no point in making up stories anymore, "That's true. Me and Seokmin are together, we never separated to be honest. But it's true as well that whenever we meet, we never spill each other's Stylth's secrets. We meet to spend some quality time, that's it."

"You aren't supposed to do this."

"Why? Why am I not supposed to do this? Is it wrong to love someone? Whatever beef we have has nothing to do with him." Joshua's voice was getting sharp, "Why would I stop meeting him because of his leader's fault?"

"Exactly." Hoshi remarked, "Not only the one who did wrong is considered at fault, the people who support his wrong doings are equally at fault."

"Stop it Hoshi, you know your words don't make sense right?" Joshua scrunched his brows, "Are you going to tell Jeonghan? Go on, do it. But I'm not going to leave Seokmin."

"Why would I tell Jeonghan hyung?" Hoshi felt hurt, "I'm as loyal to you as I'm to him. If you've decided not to tell him then I won't either. I just wanted to let you know that this can cause problems later on."

"It won't, don't worry about it." Joshua shrugged, "It's much better than hurting the one you love and in turn hurting yourself as well. Exactly what you do with Woozi."

"Hyung! Don't cross your limits." Hoshi subtly yelled, "I was here to talk to you but you're acting strange and rude."

"Why are you getting sensitive over his name?" Joshua turned to the younger, "Tell me Hoshi, why do you hate Woozi when you were the one who used to stick with him 24/7? What was his fault in whatever happened between Jeonghan and Seungcheol?"

"He was definitely at fault." Hoshi's orbs darkened, "He abandoned me to support a betrayer and even went on to hang out with some other new bastards while all of us were grieving. He didn't stay by my side, to console me. I don't hate him for taking his side, I hate him for NOT taking mine. So you better not bring up his name again. If you don't want to talk to me, say it directly, don't shit on my past."

"Uh- it's not like that!" Joshua felt guilty as he held the younger's shoulders, "I'm sorry Hoshi, I went overboard. But one thing is for sure, I can't leave him at any cost. Trust me, our relationship is harmless."

"I hope that his leader would think the same if he comes to know about you because it's harmless only until it's hidden." Hoshi approached the door to leave, "Or else, another war would surely begin. So, be careful, good luck."

Seungcheol finally got the gem in which Jeonghan's whole life was stored as a documentary. He knew he was misusing his rights but he had vowed to find out about his love and he could even turn the world upside down to do it.

As soon as he was going to use the gem, he was halted by a tight grip on his wrist. He looked at his side to lock eyes with none other than, Yoon Jeonghan.

"What do you think you're doing?" Jeonghan settled the gem back to its original place.

"Jeonghan please, just go. I know you won't spill a single word if I ask you so let me find it out by myself." Seungcheol stated, "Plus, I've the right to do so."

"You don't." Jeonghan intervened, "You can look through these gems of the ones who are at a lower post than you and that too after a discussion between both the Stylths. Neither I'm at a lower post than you nor you have my consent."

"Do you really think I don't know this?" Seungcheol kept his voice gentle, "I just want to know and I can't help it."

"Why are you so desperate about nothing Seungcheol? I'm no one to you and-"

"You're my everything Jeonghan." Seungcheol didn't let the younger complete, "You're in my mind all the time, whether I want it or not. I can't help it and so can't you. Why are you trying to hide your past from me?"

"Because you really don't need to know anything." Jeonghan looked at the floor, "Respect my decision Seungcheol."

'You'll hate yourself even more if you come to know about it.' He thought to himself.

"I've been doing it for years. Do you think it's the first time I thought of breaking into your gem?" Seungcheol sighed as he leaned back on the wall, "But I can't wait anymore. Please Jeonghan, do this one favour to me. I won't force you to speak all of those things which hurt you but let me dig into it myself."

Jeonghan's heart softened. He couldn't watch the older in a miserable state, it was heartbreaking for him as well. His inner self started a debate on how to react further as he just stared at the older.

Seungcheol reciprocated the younger's gaze. It was just them, melting into the silence of the room. The older gradually stepped forward as his hands slipped across the younger's waist.

Jeonghan rested his hands on Seungcheol's shoulders as they kept staring at each other's blazing red eyes. The older intertwined his hands with the younger as he leaned in slowly.

When I saw you, the space has stopped
Sensitive senses
When I only see you
My heart and even my eyes are jealous
I don't understand but I love you

"Don't." Jeonghan whispered as their lips were just a centimetre apart from meeting, "Don't weaken me Seungcheol, I don't want to regret later."

Seungcheol gently caressed the younger's palm with his thumb, "Will you really regret it later on?"

"I don't know." Jeonghan gulped, "But-"

"But what Jeonghan?" Seungcheol pulled the younger closer as their foreheads rested against each other, "I know you want it too, then why not?"

"I'll tell you everything." Jeonghan blurted out, "If you're so desperate, I will. But, don't expect anything more than that."

Seungcheol backed away although he didn't want to, "I promise, I won't."

And that's how they ended being seated on the ground of the immense hall, beside each other.

Jeonghan let out a deep sigh, "You already know about the incident with the demons after I left. But as expected, my escape plan backfired. Everyone, all the creatures got to know that a royal blooded vampire is out all alone. And they were hungry. How much was I supposed to fight? They were endless."

"After I escaped the demons, I went through the werewolves. The first one almost tore my right leg." Jeonghan laughed slightly as the older decided to hold his hands.

"Don't mind." Seungcheol nodded, "We can get back to our rivalry after this."

"But I saved myself somehow. I had to find shade during daytime because they had actual sunlight there and I could have been anything but weak in those days." Jeonghan looked anxious as he continued the story, "The alpha of the pack came to know about me and he wanted to use me for increasing their powers."

Seungcheol wrapped his arm around the younger to comfort him as he was visibly not fine at all.

"I was captured, once again." Jeonghan closed his eyes, "Of course I couldn't give birth or something but he decided to-"

"Jeonghan, calm down." Seungcheol caressed his back as the younger couldn't bring himself to speak further, "It's okay, I'm here."

"I wish you were." Jeonghan mumbled, "Anyways, he said he would mark me or whatever culture they have and do some shit to turn me into an omega to get crossbreeds of vampires and werewolves. It was horrible. That night was terrible. Before he could succeed, I killed him. How dare he even try to do something filthy with me?"

Seungcheol's blood boiled. He just wished that the alpha would have been alive, he wanted to tear his body apart with his own hands. No matter how capable the younger was, Seungcheol would still burn down every single soul that would lay a hand on him.

"Turns out, it wasn't the only pack residing there. Now all of them were behind me so I had to run for my life." Jeonghan continued, "Fortunately, I met some elves. They were nice so I got a break from all the chaos. I finally got some peace and time to recollect myself and gain some powers. The elves taught me a variety of skills including water and thunder. In return, I taught them some basic skills of fire."

"Then, of course, I had to leave." Jeonghan scoffed, "And all this shit went on like that. Fighting, escaping, that's all. I just didn't want to die because of the promise I had made to Mrs. Kim but when I returned, she was no more."

"You talked to me and I was so upset and full of the past that I asked you to stay away from me." Jeonghan chuckled dryly, "I thought you'll try again but you accepted it. That made me angrier and then a series of events went on. Instead of healing, with time, everything just worsened."

"I'm sorry." Seungcheol muttered, "You had to suffer-"

"Whatever happened outside the Coast, wasn't your fault." Jeonghan intervened, "I chose that path for myself and no one is responsible for that."

"But I failed you Jeonghan." Seungcheol looked at the younger, "It's true that I won't accept that I changed the name or wanted my aunt to do anything to you. But still, I should have followed you or at least tried a bit harder when you returned. But again, I was also upset because you didn't trust me."

"I still don't." Jeonghan looked away, "Maybe I want to but it's not possible for me. Out of everything that happened, your actions were the most hurtful Seungcheol. Why? Because I love you. I won't deny this fact, I'm tired."

Jeonghan unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt and slided it a bit to display a deep scar on his shoulder, "This is the scar I got from your betrayal. I don't know why but it never heals, no matter how much I try. Then how am I supposed to heal the scar that you left in my heart? You're desperate, I can see it, you're trying your best. Trust me, I'm trying as well but I'm failing miserably. I hate myself more than I hate you."

Seungcheol sat silently. He didn't know what to say or how to react. Of course he understood what the younger was going through but his heart wouldn't let him stay away from his one and only love.

"Let it be Seungcheol, maybe we aren't meant to be together." Jeonghan buttoned his shirt back and stood up, "Let me go, it will hurt less."

"Go." Seungcheol nodded, "For now." He added, "You can give up on us but I would never. I know we can make it and I promise you Jeonghan, we definitely will."

(I couldn't find a short vdo so I added the complication itself lol)

-----

A/n : So from this incident and the previous one with Jeonghan and Seungcheol, you must have understood that the demons play with their minds. They trap them within their own minds and strike them with their darkest emotions to weaken them. What will happen when the leading demons would appear?

Plus for the Jeongcheol's scene, uhh- it's not the time yet. I want to make it as worth it as possible.

Also, I think this is the time to plan a proper schedule so I think I'll upload on friday mornings or noons? Is one update a week okay?
