-Lucy's POV-

I awoke next to my friends in the hallway. My head was on Gray's lap and I was covered with his jacket.

"Hey, you're finally awake," he said.

Surrounding me was Levy, Cana, Erza, Wendy, Romeo, Charle, Pantherlily, Mirajane, Gajeel, and Happy. Happy flew over to me and began to cry on my lap. I rubbed his head. He was probably worried about Natsu. Speaking of Natsu, I took Happy off my lap and asked a nearby nurse, "Can you please tell me where Natsu Dragneel's room is?"

"Mr. Dragneel's room is in room twelve," she said.

"Thank you," I said.

Everyone followed me to Natsu's room. When I opened the door, there was Natsu sleeping peacefully on his bed.

"Let's give them some space," Erza said. She and the others made their way back out into the hallway and I was left here alone with Natsu. I grabbed a chair that was in the corner, set it next to his bed and I sat down.

I saw how Natsu looked now. Luckily, it wasn't as gruesome as earlier. The color of his skin was back to its tan self, his pink hair looked much pinker now, and the bite marks, the bruises and even the large gash that was on his chest had cleared up. All the blood that was on him had also been cleaned up. I ruffled my fingers through his pink locks and without warning, I began to cry again. I clutched his left hand and held it tightly as I laid on his chest.

"Happy birthday, Lucy." a voice said.

I looked up to see a conscious Natsu with a smile on his face and his onyx eyes shining. I teared up and Natsu pulled me in for a hug.

"Thank you, Luce," he said.

"For what?" I asked.

"For giving me your blood and saving me. I owe you one."

"Your welcome, Natsu."

"Also, I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"For scaring the wits out of you like that. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."

"I know but, right now, you need to rest so that you can go back to the guild faster."

"Ok."

-TIME SKIP TO THE NEXT DAY-

That next morning, Natsu was discharged from the hospital and he could return to Fairy Tail. Because of his mild issue of major motion sickness, he and I walked the whole way to the guild. Once we got there, we could even tell from the outside that something was causing some noise in the guild. I opened the door to see everyone circling around a table.

I took Natsu's hand and walked toward our guildmates.

"Oi, I'm back everybody!" Natsu yelled.

"Natsu!" shouted a girl's voice.

"L-Lisanna?" he stuttered.

The girl bear hugged him and made him fall over. I took a good look at Lisanna. She had Mirajane's pretty looks, the same white hair, and blue eyes. The only difference was that her hair was cut into a pixie bob.

"And you must be the famous Lucy that I kept hearing about from Mira and the others! Thanks for taking care of him and Happy while I was gone!" she smiled.

To not be rude, I smiled back saying, "It was no trouble! I'm lucky to finally meet the girl that everyone keeps talking about! You're just as pretty as Mirajane!"

"Thanks!" she said.

In reality, I was pretty jealous that she could get so close to Natsu. But, I put all that aside and just smiled.

Over the next few weeks, the guy who had been causing all the murders (and had tried to kill Natsu that night) had never been found by Erza's search group and was murdering more and more of Magnolia's citizens. Natsu and the rest of the guild had been ignoring me lately since Lisanna returned. Natsu had been distant though.

I just sat in my apartment as the rain kept hitting my window. Then, there was a knock.

I came to unlock the door and standing there was Natsu. He held on a serious expression. He also was completely soaked due to the rain. "Can I come in?" he asked.

"Sure. Come on in, Natsu." I said.

He came in and I got him some towels for him to dry off.

"Why'd you come, Natsu?" I asked.

"Lucy, I can tell you anything and you'd still be my nakama, right?" he asked.

I nodded.

"Something happened to me when I got attacked. Something that I can't back out of. Lucy, I need your help." he begged.

He then began to scream in pain. He fell to his knees and he clutched his head.

I began to slowly walk towards him but, he only shouted, "STAY AWAY, LUCY! I DON'T WANT TO HURT YOU TOO!"

I slowly backed to a wall seeing a transformation from my nakama to a monster.

Natsu stood up but, his magic aura now looked of evil. His shining onyx eyes were a crimson red and his smile was menacing. He showed his fangs at me.

"N-Natsu?" I stuttered. Whatever was front of me, wasn't Natsu.

He came running at me and I ran to grab one of my kitchen knives. He tackled me down though. He held both of my wrists down and I couldn't move. This was the end, I knew it. I'm going to die as my best friend devours me. For once, he isn't going to save me this time.

He was at least three inches from my neck when he suddenly stopped and his red eyes turned back into his dark onyx eyes and he put on a face of absolute terror. He let go of me and backed up to a wall and covered his face with his hands.

Even if I was in total shock, I rushed to his side but, he pushed me away.

"This happened at the guild too. I ALMOST KILLED SOMEONE..." he muttered.

"When did this start happening?" I asked.

"Three days ago. I was just at home and then, my throat was dry so, I went to get a glass of water. While I was filling it up, I was thinking about how the guy tried to murder me and I must have dozed off. I dropped the glass and it shattered to pieces. I tried to pick up the shards but, I cut myself. The next thing I know, I felt intense pain and I blacked out. When I came to, I was outside covered in blood. Luckily, I didn't attack a person but, I killed a deer. So, it came to me that the guy that attacked me bit me on the neck after beating me up. I don't think I'm human anymore, Luce." he explained.

"What happened at the guild?" I asked, concerned for Natsu and my family.

"I was eating animal's blood for the next few days and I was feeling fine. I was talking with Erza and Happy and Lisanna but, I noticed that you weren't around so, I thought I would come here to see if you were home. But, before I left, Mirajane dropped a beer bottle and she tried to pick up the shards but, she pricked herself. I felt the intense pain again and I feel to my knees. Wendy and Lisanna rushed to my aid and so did most of the guild but, I told them to get away. Then, I blacked out like the first time. When I came to, I was about three inches from killing Mira. I ran out in the rain to find you. I didn't expect that I'd turn here though." he explained again.

I stared at my nakama. Was he turned into a vampire? Or maybe like in books I read since he didn't drink human blood yet, could he be a half-vampire? Wait, but vampires aren't real! I need to do research or something on this.

"I'm sorry, Lucy. I almost killed you...I COULD'VE KILLED YOU!" he screamed.

He had grabbed of the knives for my kitchen and he came to cut himself but, I grabbed his hand before he could do anything dangerous. He blankly stared at me as he dropped the knife.

He hugged me and whispered in my ear, "Thank you, Lucy. Now, I owe you two."

I hugged back and I replied, "You're welcome, once again, Natsu."
