𝙍𝙤𝙡𝙚!

The Seer ― Gifted from birth with the ability to glimpse the future and share it through words. Her visions come in the form of a verbal prophecy, and if no one else hears it then it is lost, for she cannot remember anything she sees once her vision ends. Sponsored by the palace. One of the middle class, given just enough water to survive.

Kimera is quiet and observant. She doesn't talk much and prefers to listen, mostly because she's a bit insecure and always thinks that she'll say the wrong thing, but also just because she is shy. She's slightly clumsy and when she gets nervous (which is often) she talks too fast to be understood. She can keep a secret unless she's put under pressure to reveal it. She may be clumsy most of the time, but she has a kind of healer's touch switch: she can steady her hands and calm her mind instantly if the need should arise. She is hard to anger and has a serene, collected exterior. She is easy to scare, and gets spooked at the littlest of things. She's an organization freak and needs everything to be in its place or she'll flip out. She'll be up all night if she senses that something wasn't put back in its place. Ever since it was discovered that she was a seer, she's felt a lot of pressure to have visions and protect the kingdom's future, but since she can't do it on command she always has the feeling that she's letting someone down.

𝙇𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙨!

Rain, singing (though she's not great at it), reading (she's one of the few women who was privileged enough to be taught), potion making (though some magic is learned through books, some is made through potions), order, the smell of burning incense, the night sky, the stars, the color gold, dancing, kind people, water, privacy (which she gets little of)

𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚𝙨!

Big crowds, olives, disorder, when strangers talk to her, violence, liars, wind and sandstorms

𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝𝙨!

Calm ― she never panics for more than a second after a jump scare, and isn't squeamish. She remains collected no matter what.

Observant ― since she's quiet, it's easy for her to listen to other people's conversations and she also notices small details others might not.

Steady ― she has a steady hand and delicate fingers. She can use them expertly when handling small objects or other fragile things.

Orderly ― she's organized and can always remember where she left something.

𝙒𝙚𝙖𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙨!

Clumsy ― when there's no high stakes, she is a real butterfingers and can never seem to stand up straight.

Shy ― she's a bit of a pushover and very, very quiet, especially around strangers.

Jumpy ― though she never stays scared for long, she's easy to spook.

𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙨!

That she'll let the whole kingdom down, that no one appreciates her, that she's truly alone in the world

𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮!

Kimera grew up as a normal peasant in the kingdom, before the drought started. She spent most of her time with her uncle since her parents only saw her as a burden, or an extra mouth to feed. Her uncle was there when she delivered her first prophecy, predicting the arrival of a terrible drought in the near future. Abrion told her parents, and they immediately tried to ship her off to the palace, since giving the royal family a born magic-user could incite reward. Abrion thought that no amount of money was worth giving up a child, and though her parents claimed that she would lead a better life in the palace Abrion tried to run away with her. He was killed by royal guards who had been alerted by Raymus to Abrion's attempts. Kimera was given to the king, and he decreed that she would live in the palace and never be alone again, since if she were to deliver a prophecy on her own she would not remember it and it would be lost. She was put under constant watch, whether by guards or servants or simply another person in the palace, but the only prophecies she delivered during her stay were of minor things like the gender of a new baby or whether the rains would come soon. When the drought she had predicted came about, people turned to her to give them a solution or a way to end it, but she could give them nothing.

𝙊𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙤𝙣 𝙒𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧!

She gets enough water to stay alive, and so is grateful. She makes no effort to give water to others since she is always being watched and cannot help others without being caught herself.

❝Please don't touch that.❞

❝I may be clumsy, but I'm not that clumsy.❞

She is a seer, but she also functions as one of the palace physicians, treating injuries and, more rarely, diseases.
