Chapter Fourteen
Thranduil sighed into his hands and looked up to the ceiling. He couldn't rest. Not after the battle. His mind has kept him painfully aware of the reality that was his life.
Legolas had left.
His elk had passed.
His new ally lay in the infirmary.
She doesn't look well, her injuries are severe to say the least. He could not deny the fear he felt as he saw the boulder crash into her side. He could only watch as her gigantic form fell out the sky. It shook the ground like an earthquake. Ash had swirled in the air darkening the sky.
He thought their only hope had perished along with so many others.

Lumina had managed to raise her torso from the bed without fire shooting up her spine.

The raised flesh reminded her of the pain and grief that still was strong in her mind.
Lumina felt the hot tears hit her cheeks before she knew they had begun to form. She didn't bother to wipe them away.

Her claws dug into her collar bone tearing at the flesh while she cried.
It hurt so much.
