"Irina, Zephyr. You've been away for so long. What happened?" Lucas asked us as he came towards us along with Dylan and Rosario.

Zephyr slowly turned to me before speaking to me, "Go to your room, I'll talk to them."  He said before turning around to face Lucas again.

I slowly nodded as I saw them starting to converse and began to climb up the stairs. I walked down the hallway to my room but while I was on my way there, Zerav and Edgar stopped me.

"Irina, do you have a moment?" Edgar asked.

"Sure," I replied.

"I apologize, Irina for I know that you are busy. However, we've received information from a distant relative." Zerav said.

"Relative?"

"Yes, he'll come here sooner or later, so I'll introduce you to him then." He smiled at me slightly.

"He has an odd and awkward personality though," Edgar exclaimed with a frown.

"Well, as you can see Irina, Edgar is pretty incompatible with him. His name is Stefan but we can leave that aside..." Zerav told me to which I nodded.

"So what's your point, exactly?" I asked, trying not to sound rude.

"Hmm, well the thing is, we heard from him that the person who attacked you belongs to The Nightworth Coven." He remarked silently.

"Who are they?" I questioned, widening my eyes.

"They're the oldest of all the vampiric covens. The vampires at the centre of the coven are violent vampires, who, unlike us, think of Elves as prey." He stated with a sour expression.

"They started coming after us after we chose Harold's words over theirs, calling us traitors. You see, trusting each other is more important for us than anything right now with the vampire world wavering." Edgar further explained and I nodded again.

"What do you want me to do?" I asked again.

"Well, if you don't mind, can you tell us straight if you see something suspicious? We want as much information as we can get." Zerav said.

"All right. I'll tell Zephyr too, then." I said, nodding.

"I don't think he'll report everything honestly to us, but hmm... Tell him too." He told me and I bowed to them both before leaving to look for Zephyr.

After walking around for some time, I found him talking to a man in the courtyard which was near the main entrance. I walked towards him and I saw him with a man I'd never seen before.

"I was called here by Lucas. May I ask what business you have with me?" The man asked Zephyr.

"I asked you because I've never seen you before," Zephyr replied, firmly.

"Ah yes, it's my first time in the mansion." The man spoke and Zephyr observed the man critically.

"I don't know why you're so wary, but someone's come for you." The man said while pointing at me and Zephyr turned around to notice me as I walked up to them.

"Irina..." Zephyr began.

"You're a guest here?" I asked the man to which he nodded back.

"I'm Luther. Nice to meet you." The man named Luther bowed toward me.

"I am Irina. And I work with Zephyr in this mansion." I replied slowly.

"So I see." Luther smiled at me and nodded again.

"Irina, you should go back to your room. I'll come to you after I give him a tour around the mansion." Zephyr told me from my side, making me turn towards him.

"You're very protective, hmm? Okay, then. Please do show me around... Though it won't be as exciting, I suppose it can't be helped this time." Luther exclaimed with a sigh as they started walking further into the courtyard, leaving me alone. I slightly nodded to myself before walking back to my room.

When I got upstairs to the floor where my room was, I saw a man exiting the hallway and walking toward the Balcony. He was dressed in a long violet coat with shades of red and a white shirt underneath, which made him look like a prince.

He had a red cape on his shoulder and the shining coat made him look more graceful and the aura around him look more powerful. His hair was pure white and the only thought I had in mind was...' he's handsome' ... 'so ethereal '...

I was moved by his appearance and the intense aura that surrounded him, making me follow him. He stepped onto the railing of the balcony and looked up to the moonlight. His perfect features shone brightly under the light and I stared in awe from the shadow of a nearby pillar.

"I know you're there." The man spoke for the first time, still with his back turned against me. My face went blank as I came out of the shadows, slightly embarrassed.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to snoop on you." I said, with my head down and the man turned around.

When his face was finally clear to me, I stared at him, speechless because except for his hair and outfit, he looked a lot like Rosario.

"Ah, my secret is out, I suppose," He started slowly with a sigh.

"Huh?"

"Well, let me introduce myself to you again, now that you've seen me in my true form." He told me, while I stood frozen.

"I'm Rosario. The firstborn child of Harold and Lady Zahara. But you may know me as The Rose Prince of Mystic Falls Kingdom." He addressed himself to me, with a smile while I stared back at him in shock.

'Firstborn child?!!' I screamed in my head.

"I know it's hard to believe, Irina. And I'm sorry I didn't tell you before."He said in a sad tone after seeing my shocked expression.

I gathered up my strength and looked straight into his eyes only to see that there was not the slightest hint of lying in his eyes.

"The firstborn child of Zahara...She's my mother too..." I said in between pauses while maintaining eye contact with him.

"I know... I did hear from Zephyr that Rosapast already told you about our parents...But there's more to that, actually. Would you like to know?" He asked me with a warm smile and I slowly nodded my head before he gestured to me to follow, which I did.

He took me to the farther end of the hallway and I glanced back constantly to look for danger since I hadn't been on that side of the hallway before. He stopped near a room and after a few seconds, he opened the door which gave away to another courtyard like the one near the entrance but I soon realized it was bigger and much more beautiful.

An aisle went down all the way into a beautiful garden. Purple roses stood at both sides of the aisle, and the garden walls were carved with Elven runes.

"Like what you see?" Rosario asked me and I nodded my head as a yes.

"This is the place where my father confessed to our mother. Only we can come in here since we're their children." He said and I listened to every word, wide-eyed.

"But Rosapast told me that Harold killed the firstborn. Then, how come you're here?" I asked him.

"He didn't kill me. He loved me too much to let that happen, so he turned me into a rose and sent me to the Mystic Falls Kingdom. I stood in the garden of the King who ruled the kingdom and when he sensed a Half-Blood's presence in the rose, he and the other ancient vampires together broke the spell and I took on the form of a healer. The King raised me as his own and when he died, the throne was given to me, since I was his one and only son the people had known. I've tried to keep my true form hidden ever since then and nobody has ever found out," he smiled at me and continued, "Until now."

I stared at him without blinking, processing everything he just said. He moved closer to me and smiled warmly. I could see that his eyes were full of love and care.

"You've never been alone, Irina. I was there with you ever since you came here," He said and waited for my response. I found unexpected warmth in his words so I nodded back slowly at him with a small smile.

"Thank you, Rosario, for bringing me here."

"Of course." He replied before letting his eyes wander around the room.

"This place gives me peace, you see. I always come here whenever I feel the need to clear my head. And now that you know the way, you can come here too, Irina. Just call out 'Daroir Yenlui Lecai' in your mind when you reach the door" He told me.

I knew what those words meant. Those were High Elven Runes which were called out by our ancestors in the olden times. Daroir meant Remembrance, Yenlui meant Harmony and Lecai meant Nobility of the Soul. Perfect words to address mother and her lover.

"Thank you," I said.

"Hmm...turn around."

I did what he asked and turned around before I felt a necklace slipping onto my neck and I traced the purple heart locket with my fingertips.

"I trust you can keep it safe... And, promise me you won't say a word about me to the others," He said.

"I promise," I replied with a small nod.

"Thank you and farewell, sister," He smiled back and dashed back into the mansion in a quick flash, leaving me all alone in there.

I stood there for a minute thinking about my mother's past life here with the vampire named Harold.

"I forgive you, Mother. I understand now what Rosapast meant earlier." I softly spoke in the silent room.

Still dazed by everything I just heard from Rosario, I closed my eyes to feel the fresh cold breeze in the moonlight.

"You're right brother. This is indeed a place you can be at peace."

I spent a few minutes in the room, thinking about everything that I just heard, letting them sink into my head and soon, I left the garden and went back to my room, finally free from all the questions that lingered inside my head.
