After Rosario's words, none of us said another word and just waited until anyone came up with a plan. But then, Rosario called me.

"Yes?" I replied back to him and he swiftly cast a rune that had my weapon in it. He threw the bow and arrows toward me gently and I held them tight in my hands.

"Thank you." I smiled at him slightly and he nodded before turning sideways.

I rolled my quiver to my back and firmly held the bow in my left hand. Zephyr held my other hand and looked at me before speaking.

"We can't just stay here, love. We need to go." He told me and I nodded with a sigh.

"I know," I replied and squeezed his hand back.

"Now," Rosario said which made all the attention turn towards him.

"The vampires have gone hunting into the forest. If we attack now with few of us, it'll be easier for us to get to the others." He explained his point and we all nodded in agreement.

"Let's get going then."

After a short while, Rosario, Zephy and I started climbing back the stairs to get to the main hall and soon, we reached Damien's throne room.

The others were asked to go with mother, back to our house in the farther woods.

When we got inside, there was a dead silence that urged us to be more cautious. We spread out in three directions and started looking for the others.

I clenched my bow tighter and walked straight into the grand room while Rosario and Zephyr took the left and right ways, respectively.

The halls were perfectly carved and engraved with ancient vampire runes as I made my way further inside. The floor was made of pure crystals and there were chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, shining bright and marking my way.

Soon, I heard the familiar sound of breathing which made me stop and listen more. As I was about to move, the faint sound was heard again.

"Jake? Dylan? Is that you?" I called out in a whisper.

"Irina?" A weak voice called back.

I quickly followed after the voice and gasped in utter shock as I saw Jake clinging onto a glass cell weakly.

"Jake." I covered my mouth with my palm and he finally looked at me with a weak smile.

"You're here." He said in a low voice and I nodded slowly as my eyes teared up. The guy who had the most cheerful face was then having the most painful expression which made my heart ache.

"Jake, I'm gonna get you out of here okay? I promise." I said in a shaking voice and he just hummed, nodding.

I moved a little bit away from him and let my eyes wander around the hall to see something I could use to get him out. When I realized there wasn't any, I traced my finger along the glass door to see how much strong it was. Then I tapped it lightly which made me realize it was not too strong and I smiled a little.

"Jake, I'm gonna try breaking the door so get back from it, okay?" I told him and he did as I asked.

I took a deep breath and moved away again before kicking the glass with all my might. And fair enough, the glass door gave away and I quickly helped Jake from it.

"Jake." I pulled him into a hug and I could feel him smiling slowly as he hugged me back lightly.

"The...others. Where are they?" He asked me and pulled away.

"They're all with my mother. Zephyr and Rosario will round them up soon and we'll get out from here for good."

"Your mother? The Queen? She's here?" He asked with wide eyes and I nodded with an assuring smile and he quietly replied with an 'oh.'

"Let's go," I said as I helped him wrap his arms around my waist for support. But as we turned, I felt something was off. 'If Jake is here, then why were the others put away?' I thought.

'The others were much harder to help. Rosario told me that the werewolves were put up with a spell. How come he is...' I asked myself, glancing at Jake.

'It's almost as if this was-' A shiver ran down my spine as I saw Jake's presence fading from my side.

"Leaving so soon?" A voice cut my thoughts off and I swiftly turned to face the source.

'Planned.' I completed my thoughts as Damien came into my view with an evil grin.

"Surprised to see me, Irina?" He asked.

I quickly came to a fighting stance, gripping my bow tight between my fingers and muttered coldly, "More like amused."

"Oh, I'm glad to hear that."

"What do you want from me, you bastard? It's about time you fight us like a true vampire and not hide in the shadows like the coward you are." I spoke firmly and a smirk came on my face as I saw his teeth clenching.

"You talk too much, Irina. I should've come to you sooner." He said and raised his right hand to strike me with a lightning bolt but at the last moment, it didn't hit me. I turned around and looked back to see Rosario. As I regained my stance, I was met by Damien's shocked face, taken aback due to the sudden arrival of the others.

After an awful moment of silence, he pulled himself together with an amused face and roamed his eyes around, watching everyone's moves and gestures.

"Look here. All of you have finally brought yourselves to stand up against me. Even you, Zephyr and the Queen?", He said as he glanced at Zephyr and mother with a crooked smile and continued, "Oh well, let it be. For I have my very own friends, you see?" He said and circled his right hand three times, calling for the vampires of his mansion.

Right after his call, we were met up with a scenario with all the vampires standing face to face with us from across the room behind Damien. They were all dressed up in fighting attires with swords gripped tight in their hands and having rageful, merciless eyes in them.

"This is it, love. Know that I love you." Zephyr silently spoke to me and held my hand tighter. I looked up to his face and then onto my mother's and Rosario's faces.

'Is this really the end?' I thought and considered killing myself for being so dark-minded. 'Come on, Irina. Pull yourself together, you will overcome this fight.' I told myself after a while.

"No. You don't get to say that now. Tell me that after we get back home, you hear me?" I told him firmly in a low tone and he just smiled to that which made me frown. When he noticed that, he nodded at me before letting go of my hand and leaning forward.

"Wait, no!" I shouted as I saw him dashing towards Damien with his sword. And before I knew it, the fight I never wished it would come, broke out in a swift movement of time.
