It was finally the day and everyone in the mansion was busy preparing for the attack, including me. I was practising my so-called magical powers with Rosario but he wasn't going easy on me at all.

"Stop!" I shouted at Rosario to which he rejected my request immediately.

"We'll stop once you are able to fight back against my spells." He said and cast a thorn spell on me. Long vines swirled around my body and pulled me up in the air. My hands clenched into fists as the thorns brushed against my skin roughly.

"AGH!"

"Calm your mind, Irina." He advised and I tried to close my eyes and concentrate as he said.

"Focus on your inner voice and do what it asks you to do."

"AGH, I can't!" I hissed in pain as the thorns dug deeper into my skin.

"Think of the thorns as rain. Think of them like the ones you love, think of this moment in a different scenario." He said and I thought of the first thing I could think of. The wild vines were covering my whole body and the thorns were jeopardizing me. I focused more and tried to distract myself as I heard Rosario's voice fading away and a new one taking over.

"Irina..." A voice called, to which I picked up in an instant.

"Zephyr, is that you?"

"Irina, I'm right here..." He said and the next thing I knew, I was in my room with him.

"What? How did I end up here? I was with Rosario." My eyes widen to see him taking my face in his hands and covering my lips with his.

"It's alright, I understand." He said and smiled at me with a painful expression.

"Zephyr?" I stared at him in worry and suddenly, he collapsed to the ground, clenching his waist. That was when I looked at him, shocked.

"Zephyr! What happened?!" I screamed out when I saw a deep wound over his waist. I quickly knelt down and took my handkerchief out to dress his wounds.

"Irina..." He said as tears formed in my eyes. I held his hand in my left hand and was about to wipe the blood with my other when I saw my arm dripping in his blood and a knife in my right hand.

"What...did I do this..." I asked and threw away the knife to the far corner of the room. All that time, he just kept looking at me with my favourite crooked smile of his.

"Irina, you're strong...," He said as he caressed my cheek and continued, "My love is strong..." He slightly brushed his bony fingers along my neckline and face. My face just stood there blankly while my tears came flowing down rapidly.

"Zephyr...I'm sorry...Please don't leave me..." I cried out and wrapped my arms around his neck while he did the same with my waist. 

"I love you, Irina..." He whispered and I hugged him tighter.

We stayed a few minutes like that until I felt him twitching a little and falling to the ground completely. My eyes went wide and I stumbled back to the sidewall as I watched his eyelids closing.

"Zephyr!" I shouted at his body, but no response came out of it. He still had the smile on him as his face rolled to the sides and my hands started trembling.

"Zephyr...Zephyr..." I kept saying his name as the whole room started shaking violently and the wind blew away the curtains.

My hands clenched into fists and I could feel an unknown energy rushing into my whole body. I slowly stood up as my adrenaline reached its extreme.

"AGH!"

The feeling was too much that I couldn't focus on what was around me. My whole body was heating up and I could feel myself floating in thin air. I had to close my eyes for my powers were growing exponentially.

"Irina!"

"Rosario?!" I tried to open my eyes but I couldn't do so, which made my anger a lot worse and forced me to expand my powers.

"Irina, conceal it!" He shouted again but I couldn't conceal it no matter how hard I tried.

"I can't!" I screamed back and this time, my whole body was aching in pain.

"AGH! Rosario!!"

"Irina!" Zephyr's voice.

"Zephyr?" A tear escaped from my left eye as I heard his voice and in a sudden flash, I was back at the courtyard where I was practising with Rosario.

"Irina, I'm right here, I know you can do it..." Zephyr called again but this time, it was a soothing tone that made me calm down a little bit.

"Zephyr...you..." I tried to focus more on his voice and tried to open my eyes slowly but my body was still aching badly.

"Irina..." He called in a sad voice as my eyes opened.

"Zephyr I-!"

"AGH!!" I screamed in pain as I felt my body breaking bit by bit from within and I cursed myself under my breath.

"Is there nothing we can do?!" Zephyr asked Rosario but Rosario was standing still, leaning on one of the pillars and staring blankly.

"Rosario! What the hell are you thinking? Help her!" Zephyr said angrily and grabbed Rosario by his neck collar.

"No...Don't fight!" I said and looked at them again with tears in my eyes. They stared at me back but said nothing. They both understood that there was no turning back and so, our eyes communicated but not our mouths.

"AGH, I can't do this!" I said and shut my eyes tight as my powers were about to explode.

"We have to get out of here!" Rosario shouted after an awful moment with nothing but me in pain.

"I'm not leaving her here!" Zephyr said still in an angry voice and I could hear him running towards me, but my powers were too strong that they hit his face which made him fall to the ground.

"Zephyr!!" I shouted out loud but I couldn't concentrate anymore. My eyes flowed with tears at the thought of losing everyone. I stood there, helpless and desperate.

'If this is the end, please protect my loved ones.' I prayed in my thoughts with my eyes still shut tight, and waited for my unexpected fate.

I don't know how many minutes had passed as my body was getting eaten by the huge force inside of my body. Red flames were surrounding my whole body and I was in extreme agony.

"AGH!" The whole mansion was shaking due to my powers and I could hear the others rushing into the courtyard.

"NO, leave!" I screamed at them while my body was getting devoured by my energy.

"What's happening here?!" I recognized Edgar's husky voice.

'Rosario...please take them away...Or they'll die...' I thought in my head in tears, hoping that he'll get the message.

'I'm trying to put up a shield, Irina. You'll be fine, I'm with you.' Rosario thought back immediately and I smiled sadly.

'Thank you, brother.'

Then all of a sudden, another external force rushed through my body and I crumbled to my knees.

"Irina!" Zephyr yelled with absolute pain in his voice.

"AGHHH LEAVE ME ALONE!!!" I screamed out loud and before I knew it, my anger reached its extreme and havoc awakened.

"Wait, Irina!!!" Rosario's voice was the last thing I heard before the whole mansion disintegrated and fell to the ground in pieces. A huge force pushed me to the floor and kept me there while the mansion fragments fell on top of me.

"Zephyr...I'm..." And my eyes fell unconscious.

'Sorry.' I wanted to say.
