"We don't really have any time for much of a plan so let's split the packs. Taehyung, you take the front of the house and we'll take the back." James said, coming over to Taehyung. "Let's show them what we're made of."

He reached his hand towards Taehyung as they both grabbed hold of the other's forearm. They both nodded and then flug their heads back, letting out a howl. Immediately the others joined in and I covered my ears from the piercing sound, but couldn't help to let a small smile creep along my lips.

James let go of Taehyung's arm and walked towards the back door. Taehyung turned to the rest of us and took a deep breath.

"Right, Yoongi and Hoseok, I need you two to stand as leads. We will spread out in the front lawn, covering as many angles as we can. Dakota, stay back with Jin. Sorry man, but we need you to stay staff just in case." Jin nodded understanding and Dakota put an arm around him. "Jimin, Willa, and Namjoon, I need you all behind Yoongi and Hoseok. Dakota, can you make it look like there are twice as many of us?"

"You got it boss." She said.

Taehyung then turned to me, not knowing what to say and I could tell he didn't want to give me orders.

"Just tell me what you need." I said, waiting for my own orders.

"I need you right in the middle, strengthening whomever needs it." I nodded in agreement. "Your shoulder." He motioned towards the wound on my shoulder. I motioned towards Jin and pulled his ability towards me. I felt the pain lessening and pulling my shirt back, not a single mark was left in my skin.

"Let's go get ready to stand our ground." Taehyung said as we left the main room and headed out the front door. We all spread out like he said and stood, waiting, and listening for any sound. I watched as Taehyung went over to Willa, whispering something to her and then standing in front of Yoongi and Hoseok.

Copies of the Fortis pack started to appear scattered within our own pack and I turned to see Dakota's fingers moving in the dark. I sent my energy towards her so she could keep the illusions up longer.

I usually loved the silence of the forest and how peaceful it was, but tonight, I hated it. All Jungkook had said was that they were coming, but we had no idea how many or far away they actually were and the unknown was terrifying.

It all began when a single dagger came flying from the left side of the forest, barely missing Jimin as he moved out of the way. We all turned towards that direction, but it was only a distraction and I heard Willa shift and attack the first Daeva that ran out of the right side of the forest. Men trickled out of the treeline, attacking the first thing they saw. Thankfully, a lot of them tried to attack the illusions Dakota had created and so were attacked from behind. Yoongi shifted and tore a Daeva apart while another jumped on his back. Hoseok reached over and ripped the man off of his friend, shifting and then tearing him apart as well. I was actually feeling a little optimistic about this when I saw how little Daeva were coming out of the forest and how easily the Invicta pack picked them off.

As sudden as they came, it all ended. We had defeated every figure that krept out of the shadows and now there was no one left.

"Everyone ok?" Taehyung asked and everyone responded with an ok.

"Jin, check on Fortis." He said.

I turned to see Jin walk back into the house and I instinctively followed just in case I would be needed. We walked through the house in silence and out the back door where we saw the other pack sitting down, resting. I was on edge knowing this was not the end.

"Jin, help." Someone called and we rushed to the voice. When we reached the grass clearing, Reed was on the ground with a cut across his stomach. It was bad and he was coughing up blood. "Can you fix this?" Kai had asked as he held Reed's head in his lap. Andrea was next to him holding his hand.

"I think so." Jin responded, turning towards me. I placed my hand on his shoulder and gave him as much as he needed. Thankfully, the wound started closing and the pain on Reed's face started to disappear.

"Thank you." Reed said, letting out a heavy sigh.

We all took a deep breath, resting for a bit, but we knew there was no way that this could over and just like that, it began again. Men started running in all different directions towards the house and it was frightening and overwhelming. I watched as all of Fortis shifted into werewolves and I quickly turned towards Jin.

"You cannot get hurt." I grabbed his hand and we ran inside the house, but just as we opened the door, we were met by a Daeva. I quickly pulled out the blade from my thigh holster and held it up in a defensive stance. I kept Jin behind me and waited for my enemy to make the first move. The words that Jungkook had told me repeated in my head.

"Be patient. Wait for them to make the first move and strike when you see an opening."

So, I waited and just as his hand went towards me, I stepped to the side as I grabbed his outstretched arm, bringing it behind back and forcing him to the ground. My balde hand reached down and glided across his throat. I had never killed a man before and couldn't register what I had actually done. There wasn't time.

"Come on." I yelled to Jin who was quick to follow.

Once we were in the house, I saw Invicta pack members everywhere trying to fight off as many as they could. My eyes searched the room for Taehyung, but instead they met Dakota's wolf eyes. She tore out the throat of the Deave in front of her and ran towards us, shifting in the process.

"In here" I said as I led them to the office, thinking it would be safe.The door was open and once we were inside, I saw the back of one of the Daeva and when he turned to greet whoever was behind him, a shiver went down my spine.

"We met again." Euric said with a disgusting grin on his face. I didn't break eye contact with him as I turned slightly to Jin and Dakota.

"Get out of here and find Taehyung." I said and thankfully they listened.

I stared back into Euric's now black eyes as my own wandered down to what was in his hand, the Cursed Blade. When my eyes met his again, his expression turned from a form of happiness to surprise.

"Your hair is once again different. You were blonde last I saw you." He furrowed his brow as I remained silent, clutching my own blade even tighter. He took a deep breath in, lifting his nose to the ceiling. "I can smell how sweet your blood is." He then started to laugh. "All this time I had it wrong. The prophecy was staring me right in the face and I let it go. Well, not this time my silver haired beauty." He lunged towards me and I brought my knife up to protect myself. He was fast and very strong as I tried to move out of the way, but he anticipated my move and quickly brought the Blade up as he passed by me, cutting my arm.

"AHHH." I let out a pained cry as I grabbed my arm and turned back towards him.

He faced once again, with his back to the door and lifted the Blade to his mouth. His tongue ran along the sharp edge.

"Mmmmm, tastes even better than I thought. I can feel the power that you hold." I watched as his eyes grew hungry for me and I became frightened, but I steadied myself for what I knew would be a long fight. As Euric started to move towards me, I saw a black wolf run into the room and jump onto his back, sinking his teeth into Euric's shoulder. Euric cried out, but reached up and pulled the wolf off of him, throwing him across the room. The wolf crashed into a couple of the chairs, but he was right back to his feet and was about to charge when I stepped in front of him.

"Not yet, Tae." I held my arm out and thankfully he listened as he shifted back and came right next to me, My mind ran a mile a minute over all the possibilities of how to defeat Euric. Taehyung had to trap him in his mind, that I knew, but there was no way he would be able to get close enough without getting hurt. How can I keep Euric from moving, keep him from hurting my Alpha.

"Mika!" I shouted, not even knowing if she could hear me and if this would even work, but I tried to feel her power as I sent out my energy like a wave in all directions trying to pull her ability towards me as I reached towards Euric. I stared at Euric and commanded the air pressure around him to increase and grow heavy. I noticed him try to take a step towards us, but his eyes grew wide as he realized he felt heavier than normal.

"AHHHH!!" He yelled at me as he used all his strength to move and I pushed my energy more towards him, forcing the air around him to grow thicker and heavier. I saw Taehyung out of the corner of my eye stepping forward.

"Not yet." I said and he stopped moving, placing a hand on my shoulder. My eyes briefly glanced towards the doorway as I saw Mika appear, breathing heavily and quickly analyzing what was happening. I took a couple steps towards Euric so Taehyung could get closer as well. Mika knew exactly what was happening and raised her hands as well, giving it her all. Euric's knees buckled and he fell to the ground as I took a couple more steps closer to him. I could feel the energy draining from my body, but I told myself that I was stronger and that I had more. I thought of Heather and all the people of Clarmore who died for these fuckers. I thought of Jungkook who died protecting me and all the members of my family who needed to stay safe.

Now Tae!

Taehyung ran forward and grabbed Euric's head as I put the rest of my energy towards Taehyung. He was standing in front of Euric so I couldn't see his expression, but I heard him scream out in anger and in pain as he quickly dropped to the floor, limp. I released the hold I had on him and dropped to the floor, trying to catch my breath. Taehyung's back was to me as he still stood over Euric's now still body. It was over. We did it. A smile grew on my face as I slowly started to stand up.

When I finally made it to my feet, Taehyung turned around towards me and my smile quickly faded. His hand was on his stomach, surrounding the blade that was now embedded into his flesh.

"Well, this isn't good." He said as he fell to the floor. I rushed over to him and lightly touched his stomach.

"No, no. This wasn't supposed to happen. I was supposed to protect you." The tears fell down my face instantly just as his blood began to soak his shirt. I lifted my head towards Mika. "Find Jin!" I yelled and she ran out of the room. I held tight to Taehyung's hand as my other hand caressed his face.,

"You did protect me Alanna. We needed to defeat him and we did." Taehyung said in a hushed voice as he squeezed my hand. "Don't cry my love." He slowly reached up and wiped the tears from my face. I quickly grabbed his hand and brought it to my lips, kissing it.

Jin rushed in with Mika quickly behind him and knelt down on the other side of Taehyung.

"Is it bad?" Taehyung asked, giggling a little after. Jin looked at him and smiled a little.

"Just a little." He said. He reached towards Taehyung stomach and started to rip his shirt so he could get a better view of the wound. With the shirt out of the way, I could see how much the Blade was affecting him. Black lines grew from the Blade in an outward formation, poisoning him. "I need you to pull it out, slowly." Jin said, looking up at me.

I placed one hand gently on Taehyung's stomach and the other on the hilt of the Blade, gently pulling it out. Taehyung winced at the pain and I felt him reach toward my leg and squeeze. Jin held his hands over his stomach and the light started to glow, however, it was dull. I took a deep breath and sent whatever energy I had left to Jin, but the light never grew.

"I can feel it. The Wolfsbane weakens me." Jin said as he looked at me concerned. I saw Dakota and Yoongi appear in the doorway along with more pack members behind them. They all stopped and stared as their Alpha laid on the floor, bleeding out.

"I can do it." I placed my hand right on the wound and pulled Jin's ability to me as I tried to heal the man I love. I closed my eyes trying to concentrate, but when I opened them, seeing if any progress was made, I saw how the wound was closing, but the poison had reached out further, covering his entire chest.

"Alanna, it's ok." Taehyung said. I looked over at him and saw how pale he was. I gently picked up his head and held him in my arms.

"I will not lose anyone else today. I can't live without you!" The tears continued as I pressed my forehead against his.

"This pack needs you now." He whispered. "You will make an amazing Alpha."

"I don't want to live in a world without you. I don't want to watch the sun rise through the trees if you're not there standing next to me. I don't want to have a pack without my Alpha." I was barely able to speak as my sobs grew louder and louder. A little over a month ago, I was living by myself in a small cabin and working at a library. I barely had any friends and no family. Here I was now, with the best family I could ask for and a someone I never thought I would come to love so much. Suddenly, the words that Selene had spoken to me rang throughout my head.

No one can take everything from you, but everything is what you can give.

I placed a hand on his stomach and my other arms held Taehyung close to me.

"I am meant to protect you and protect you is what I will do." I kissed his forehead. "I give you all that I have and all that I am for I am nothing without you." I whispered. For the first time, I called to Selene to take all my energy, everything that she had given me, and heal Taehyung. I kept my face close to him and closed my eyes, sending all my energy into my palm that was over his wound. I felt myself grow weaker and more tired, but I fought through it telling myself that I had more to give. I couldn't help Jungkook, but I'll be damned if I can't help Taehyung.

My arms grew heavier and my head became lightheaded and I felt the last bit of myself drain from my body and when I opened my eyes, I was no longer in the house.

I was in a forest, like the many I had been in when I met Selene. Taehyng wasn't there and when I looked down to my hands, his blood was nowhere to be seen. I looked around the forest, searching for the woman that would usually have said something by now, but the forest remained silent. My bare feet carried me about a fourth of a mile, when I finally saw her in the distance. I slowly walked towards her and stopped when I was right by her side. We were facing a clearing and could see the full moon high in the sky as the trees reflected the light.

"You have a choice to make Alanna." Selene said, keeping her gaze to the moon. I turned towards her, waiting for her to continue. She lowered her gaze and slowly turned towards me. "You can continue to live your life as a Luna, constantly fighting those who seek to hurt you and the humans you protect. Your life will be hard and full of pain. Or, you can live your life like you did before I met you. I can help you forget about all this pain and you can be happy in your cabin once again."

I turned away from her, taking in everything she told me.

"Is Taehyung ok? Is everybody ok?" I asked desperately?

"You need to make your choice with the knowledge you have now." She responded calmly. I scoffed at her answered.

"So, I could continue my life as a Luna with my love potentially dead along with my best friend as we continue to fight other things? Like the Daeva?" I looked at her hoping her expression would give me some kind of information, but she was stoic. "Or I could go back to my life as a normal human never knowing the love and family that I had?"

Selene slowly nodded.

"That's bullshit!" I yelled and sat down on a log that was nearby.

"I will give you until sunrise." Selene said as she sat down as well. I got up and started walking towards the clearing as I paced back and forth.

Taehyung could be alive and we could be happy together with the family I now have and while we would still have to fight, I would be ok because Taehyung was there next to me. But...he could also be dead and I would then have to live as a Luna without her Alpha. Could I do that? If I choose to be a normal human, I wouldn't remember anything about werewolves or the Daeva and maybe I could meet someone else. I laid down the grass, trying to think.

The same thoughts swirled around my mind for hours that I barely noticed the sun start to rise.

"Have you made your choice?" I looked up and saw Selene standing over me.

"I have."
