Day of the Full Moon

I was mostly excited for today, but once I went downstairs for breakfast, the awkward glances that I was getting was making me nervous. Annoyed, I picked up my breakfast and walked outside to sit in the gazebo, alone. I ate in peace for about 10 minutes before Taehyung found me.

"Morning." He said and I could tell that he was nervous and awkward as well.

"God you all are acting like I'm going to die or something." Taehyung was quiet. "Ok, poor choice of words, but seriously! I really think I will be fine. You remember what James said and I trust Selene." Taehyung walked to the ledge of the Gazebo and leaned his back against it.

"That makes one of us." He muttered. I slowly stood up and went over to him.

"Babe." I quietly said and he slowly looked over at me with a smile.

"I'm just nervous."

"And I get that, but let's not ruin the entire day dreading tonight." I said as I stood right in front of him reaching out for his hands.

"You're right."

"Now, you still have yet to fully tell me what will happen tonight. Care to share?"

"Of course. So, we need to wait until the moon is highest in the sky which is about 6PM. We need to be in the light of the moon so that means outside. Typically, we do this just you and me, but Jin won't be far away just in case..." He stopped for a minute and I squeezed his hand, comforting him. "I've been told that you confess your love for each other and then mark your mate."

"So vows?" I asked.

"I mean I guess."

"Well shit, I need to start thinking then and write it down." I pulled away trying to think of everything I would want to say. He grabbed my hand and pulled me back.

"Don't write anything down. Just say whatever you want when we are together under the light ok?" He said as I smiled.

"So this mark?" I nervously asked.

"Ya. As James and Mika said, I will bring my fangs forward and basically bite you and typically you would do the same to me except you don't have fangs so I guess I will be markless." I giggled a little.

"Where will the mark be?"

"Honestly, wherever you want. I have seen mates marked on the neck, wrist, leg and I have heard of even weirder places." His eyes went wide and then we both laughed.

"What about the wrist?" I asked. "That way I can actually see it whenever I want." I gave him a small smile and he pulled me into him, kissing me.

"Sounds good."

Taehyung and I finally parted ways so we could train once again today. I tried to strengthen my energy so I could give more to the pack members as well as use their abilities for longer periods of time. In the afternoon, I sparred with Jungkook and managed to land a couple hits.

It was about 5PM and I was sitting in my room, very nervous for tonight, but not for the same reasons as my friends. It felt like my wedding day even though I wasn't technically getting married. There was a knock on my door and I looked up to see Willa and Dakota walk in holding a garment.

"Hey Alanna. Are you ready for tonight?" Willa asked.

"I think so?" I said smiling at them.

"We know it is custom for you humans to wear white when you bond or whatever you want to call it so we got you something." Dakota said and Willa held up a beautiful white sundress. I stood up and walked over to it. It had small straps and sheer flowing sleeves with cutouts in  the shoulder. It was cinched at the waist and looked like it would come just above my knees.

"This is beautiful. Thank you!"

"Well go put it on so we can help you do your hair and makeup!" Willa said, shoving the dress at me. I quickly changed in the bathroom and when I walked out Willa started jumping up and down.

"Oh my god it's perfect!!" She shouts and grabbed my arm, placing me on a chair that was kept by a desk in the corner of the room.

"Did you guys get all dolled up when you officially bonded too?" Willa started giggling and I saw Dakota lightly smack her. "What?"

"Jin is a real romantic so he cooked us dinner and found a place in the forest that was perfect. He laid out flower petals and we had wine." Dakota said and I swear I could see her cheeks turn a slight shade of red.

"What about you Willa?" I asked and Willa just started giggling.

"Remember when I told you Yoongi and I couldn't ignore the physical attraction to each other?" I slowly nodded, furrowing my brows. "Well, let's just say that our marks are on our inner thighs." We all started laughing at Willa's confession.

After about 10 minutes they stepped back and admired the work they had done. I could have sworn I saw a tear in Dakota's eye. There was a knock on the door as I turned around and saw Jungkook in the doorway.

"You ready?" He asked. I stood up and noticed that he was dressed nicer than he usually was. He was wearing black pants with a collared shirt that buttons and was tucked in. "You look beautiful." He smiled at me and I was a little confused as I thought Taehyung had said it was just going to be us. Thankfully, Jungkook could tell I was a little confused. "If it's ok with you, I'm going to take you to him. This is the closest I will ever get to a wedding." I had almost forgotten that Jungkook was human and so to him, that was what was happening tonight. I can only hope he finds his mate soon. He deserves to find his other half just as I have now found mine.

"I would love nothing more." I said as I finally approached him. He held out his arm and I took it. We walked down the stairs and both packs were waiting at the bottom and looked over to us as we walked down. I leaned to Jungkook.

"Well this doesn't make me feel awkward at all." I whispered, getting a laugh from him. We finally made it to the bottom and started to walk outside. We walked past the Gazebo to the edge of the garden and then I finally saw him. He was dressed in dark grey suit pants with a white button down shirt and a matching dark grey suit jacket . His top button was left undone making him look extremely sexy right now. He smiled once he saw us approaching. We stopped in front of the garden and Jungkook took my hand from his arm, kissed the top of it and handed it to Taehyung.

"Thank you." I said to Jungkook as he turned and headed back towards the house.

"You are absolutely stunning right now." Taehyung said. We walked a little farther away from the garden and into the clearing before the treeline.

"You're not too bad yourself." I said, giving him a smirk.

"So I'm not sure really how this works, but ummm I got you this." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small black box. He opened it and turned it towards me. My mouth dropped when I saw a beautiful ring inside. It had a silver band with a small stone in the middle that I was not familiar with. It looked white mixed with shades of blue and pink. "It's a moon stone." I looked up at Taehyung.

"This is...beautiful."

He took the ring out and put the box back in his pocket.

"I figured I would get one too." He took his hand out of his pocket and opened it revealing a simple black band. "Shall we get started then?" He asked while he reached for my hands and I nodded. "Alanna...I never wanted this. I thought that having a mate made me weak and when I found out you were human well...it just made things worse." We both laughed a little. "But I was so wrong. Getting to know who you really are, I made a choice to love you and once I did, I felt like my soul could finally be whole. When I am with you, I do not know where I end and you begin. You are my best friend, my life, my soul." I started to tear up a little. "I vow to always be by your side. To protect you. To make you smile and to love you till the day I die." He started to put the ring onto my right hand.

"Oh this one." I quickly switched hands, giving him my left.

"See, I have no idea what I am doing." He placed the ring on my ring finger and I then held out my hand, palm up, asking for his ring. He placed the black band into my palm and I grabbed his left hand.

"Ya I didn't want this either." He laughed. "I thought you were a complete jerk and that you tore me away from this amazing life I thought I had. After spending just two days with you, I started to realize that I had no life without you. I never thought anyone could care for me as much as you do. I never thought I would feel so deeply for someone as I do for you. You are a part of everything I do, everything I feel and think. I also vow to protect you and love you till the day that I die for you are the piece of me that I didn't realize I needed. You are my family." I sniffled back the tears that I could feel falling from my eyes and slide the ring onto his hand.

I looked into Taehyung's eyes and saw a couple tears fall before he came closer to me and crashed his lips onto mine. He grasped the back of my neck, deepening the kiss as I reached out and grasped onto his suit jacket. The deep love that we had for each other swirled around us. He pulled away, but left his forehead against mine.

"I don't know if I'm ready." I could feel how nervous he was for the next part. I tried my best to comfort him.

"I love you Taehyung. Forever." He kissed me again and I felt the familiar desperation that he would often have wondering if this was the last kiss. He reached for my left hand and pulled it to his chest which caused me to come closer to him. He wrapped his other hand around my waist as he brought my wrist to his mouth. I saw his eyes turn from a dark brown to a brown-gold color and his canines grew longer and sharper. I laid my head against his chest and wrapped my free arm around his waist as I closed my eyes and prepared for whatever was going to happen. I felt Taehyung's heart start to race as he reconsidered this whole thing. His grip on my wrist lessened just a little, but I held tight and told him to do it.

I honestly had expected the initial bite to hurt a lot more. The sharp pain of his fangs piercing my skin made me wince just a little, but it was over in a flash. I pulled away and looked at the bite mark now on my wrist. There were a couple drops of blood and stung just a little, but not anything more than a typically wound would. He reached in his pocket and took out a piece of cloth, pressing it to my wrist.

"Are you ok?" He asked frantically.

"I'm fine. It barely even hurts." I said. He wrapped his arms around and I could feel him start to finally relax a little. As I was in his embrace, I looked up to the beautiful night sky and saw the silver light of the full moon just thinking about how we got here. As I gazed at the moon in Taehyung's embrace, I noticed the shift in color. I pulled away from him slightly.

"It's just a normal full moon night right?" I asked, still looking at the sky.

"Ya why?" He asked and I pointed to the sky. We both watched as the silver color of the moon started to turn yellow...then orange...then red. I felt my wrist start to sting just a little bit more, but ignored it as it still was not bad, but it grew more and more painful. I winced in pain.

"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked.

"It hurts...a lot!" I said looking at my wrist, but finding nothing that would indicate why it hurt this much. The pain then shot up my entire arm. It felt as though someone took a chisel to my bone. It felt so deep and the pain didn't stop. It radiated from my arm to my other arm and I fell to my knees, screaming.

As soon as Taehyung saw Alanna fall to the ground and scream out in pain, He picked her up and carried her back to the house.

"JIN!" He shouted over Alanna's screams. They didn't even bother going all the way into the house as the pain that Alanna was experiencing was actually starting to weaken Taehyung just from touching her. All of Taehyung's pack came running out to the garden, meeting him and Alanna on a paved clearing in the garden.

"What happened?" Jin asked as he touched the screaming Alanna.

"Everything was fine and then we looked up and saw the moon and all of a sudden she started screaming. She said her wrist was starting to hurt." Taehyung said as he laid her down.

Jin's hand began to glow as he touched the mark on her wrist. He then moved his hands to her head and then all over her body. Taehyung noticed the confused look on his face.

"What is it?" He asked.

"I don't see anything wrong with her." Jin said.

"That's impossible. We can see that she is in pain! Something is g-" Taehyung stopped talking as he felt a sharp pain in his left wrist. He turned his arm over and saw a bite mark. An exact copy of the mark he gave Alanna. It started to sting and then intensified to his entire arm. "Jin?" Taehyung's eyes went wide as he pleaded with the elder. Jungkook and Hosek had knelt down next to Taehyung as he began to squirm in pain.

"It hurts. Please make it stop, please!" Alanna screamed as she rolled back and forth on the pavement. Willa tried to hold her face and calm her down as best she could.

The other pack was not far away as James started running towards them.

"It's not time for a blood moon yet is it?" Namjoon asked James as he approached.

"No. Not until next year." James stared at the two laying on the ground, writhing in pain.

"Why aren't you doing anything?" Jungkook yelled to Jin.

"Because there is nothing to do! From what I can see, both are perfectly fine!" Jin yelled back. He sat back on his heels and ran his fingers through his hair. "I don't know what to do." He quietly said.

The pack watched as both Alanna and Taehyung stopped moving and became silent. Jin reached over and touched Alanna, his hands glowing slightly.

"No, no no, no, no." He muttered and then reached over to his Alpha. "NO NO NO!"

"What?" Dakota asked as she came next to her mate.

"They're hearts stopped." He quietly said, but everyone had heard it. Jin was about to reach over to start compressions on Alanna.

"Wait, look." Willa said as she ran her fingers through Alanna's hair. The entire pack watched as Alanna's light blonde hair shifted to silver.

"The moon!" James shouted. Everyone looked up as the moon faded from its red color, back to a beautiful grey.

The sound of two people gasping for air made the pack turn their heads once again to their Alpha and Luna. Both were sitting up trying to catch their breath. Willa wrapped her arms around Alanna as Hosek patted Taehyung's pack. Taehyung and Alanna looked over at each other and smiled.

"I like your hair." Taehyung said.

Now that they're bonded will things be different them what? What about Alanna?
