Next Morning

I managed to avoid Taehyung all day yesterday and was ready to talk to him, but I don't think I will get a chance today. It was training day and from what I understood, they were going to be busy all day. I put my hair up and grabbed a hat so no one would ask me about my weird hair color as I left my room. I had slept in a bit and noticed almost everyone was already outside. I grabbed something quick for breakfast and sat on the stairs to the porch waiting for everything to begin. Once everyone arrived, I saw Taehyung stand up and start talking. He had a headband on that pushed his hair back out of his face and it looked hot.

"It's that time of the week where we test our skills not just as wolves but as werewolves. I will pair you up and the sparing will start shortly. Jungkook will be walking around to make sure everyone's form is on point. Remember, give it your all, but let's try not to destroy our opponent." I heard laughs coming from everyone. "Willa and Jimin. Yoongi and Jin. Hosek and Namjoon. Dakota you're with me." Everyone paired off as Jungkook started walking around.

"Fight!" Jungkook shouted.

"I watched as everyone was fighting really well. I felt like I needed some popcorn watching this action movie. I was glancing over everyone, but my eyes kept going to Dakota and Taehyung. She said she was one of the strongest in the pack so I wasn't surprised that she was paired with the Alpha. However, when she made her way to him, she seemed annoyed, like she knew she was going to lose. This went on for about 10 minutes when the unthinkable happened. Dakota had Taehyung pinned to the ground and he was not strong enough to get up. Seeing that he was struggling, Dakota stood up and backed away, frightened. Jungkook's face was in shock and slowly everyone stopped and turned towards their Alpha on the ground.

"Why did you stop? I said to give it your all!" Taehyung shouted as he got up. He was rubbing his shoulder and he looked furious.

"I-I just umm I don't-" Taehyung got in her face and yelled back.

"The enemy is not going to go easy on you. You can't stop Dakota!" She put her head down.

"Yes sir."

Taehyung angrily walked off around the side of the house. I stood up and walked over to Jungkook who looked stunned.

"Why is he so mad?" I asked him.

"He's never lost a fight." He then turned to me looking right into my eyes. "Never!"

"He's weakened right now. Only temporary." I heard Willa say as her gaze met mine. Then it hit me. Werewolves who have met their mate but have not yet bonded are weak. I couldn't help but to feel guilty. I followed where Taehyung went and noticed him pacing. As soon as he saw me, he stopped and turned to me, but didn't say anything.

"Hey." I said.

"Hi." He looked down at the ground. There was an awkward silence between us as neither one knew what to say.

"I'm sorry." I finally spoke up. His eyes met mine. "I'm sorry for running out the last time we talked and I'm sorry for making you weak." I saw him shake his head as he took a deep breath.

"It's not your fault."

"But it is!" I took a step closer to him. "I have been distancing myself from you, making this so much harder."

"I'm not going to lie to you Alanna. This is really hard for me on so many levels."

"Tell me. Help me to understand...please." I could see in his eyes how hard all this was for him right now.

"What you saw, that night, was me, but it wasn't fully me. I can't deny that I want you in various ways, I mean, you're beautiful, funny, and easy to be around. But, with you being my mate, the connection is very physical, it's how we keep the line of werewolves going." My face turned a little red just thinking about Taehyung and I being intimate together. "I don't want to act on those physical urges because I know you're not ready and to be perfectly honest, I don't really know if I am either." I was surprised at his words, but felt more at ease knowing he was hesitant as well. "I meant what I said. I will never force you to do anything you don't want to do. I want you to choose whether or not you want to be with me."

"Thanks."

"Can I ask something of you though?"

"Of course!"

"Will you go on a date with me at least?" He looked nervous asking me and I couldn't help but to smile.

"Just tell me when and where." He smiled back at me and stepped a little closer. We were both hesitant to touch each other as the last time was a little much and very confusing.

"I want to try something with this." He reached out and touched my hand and the thoughts and emotions traveled between us both.

"Sure. Like what?" He grasped my hand and led me back out to the others. They must have continued sparring, because there were split lips and a couple bloody noses.

"Geez!" I was shocked to see everyone so hurt and when I looked over to Taehyung he didn't seem bothered at all, instead, he looked happy.

"Nice work guys." He walked over to Jin, still holding my hand. I could feel that our thoughts and emotions were still intertwined, but it didn't seem intense, just a calm movement of energy between us. However, when he got closer to Jin, he let go of my hand and the connection broke.

"Let's try." He told Jin who nodded his head.

"Yoongi, Jimin, come here please." Jin said. Yoongi got up from the ground and I saw that he had a split lip and a cut on his eye which was starting to bruise. Jimin walked over with his head in the air, trying to stop the blood dripping from his nose. Jin placed a hand on each of the boys and then looked in my direction.

"Jin what are you doing? You can't heal two people at once, it's too much for you." Dakota said, stepping closer to him, worry written all over her face. I was confused at what was going on when Taehyung looked at me.

"Put your hand on his shoulder." Taehyung said. I was confused as I walked behind Jin and placed a hand on his shoulder. The glow from his palms was bright as I saw the cuts on Yoongi's face slowly disappear as well as the blood from Jimin's nose stop. Once they were healed, everyone looked shocked and stared at Jin and then me, but no one said anything.

"Will someone please tell me what just happened?" Taehyung had the biggest smile on his face and Jin grabbed my shoulders.

"Something amazing that's what!" Jin said, staring at me. He noticed my still confused expression as he continued. "I can heal people, but there are limits to my ability: only one person at a time and the more severe the injury, the more energy it takes from me."

"But you just healed two people at once." I said pointing to Yoongi and Jimin.

"Exactly, but I did it with your help. When I was healing Namjoon, you placed your hand on my shoulder and I felt stronger all of a sudden. You're like a human battery!" I started to walk around, taking everything in.

"Then how can I do what Taehyung does. Is that a mate thing?" Taehyung then stepped forward.

"We're not entirely sure, but we don't think it's related to being mates. In your cabin, Jin tried to heal you and I actually tried to calm you, but neither of us were able to do anything. You had somehow blocked us out."

"Ok, wait, so I can block out abilities, share your ability, and improve Jin's?" I was so confused. Jin and Taehyung looked at each other and shrugged.

"Something like that ya." Taehyung looked almost as confused as I was. "We don't understand what all is going on, but we will help you figure it out ok?"

"Well, should we see if it works with Dakota or Willa?" I said turning towards them. Dakota seemed excited and walked over to me while Willa was hesitant.

"I don't want to mess with teleporting until we know more about this." Willa spoke up.

"Yes! I want to see what all the fuss is about." Dakota stood right next to me and faced an open area. I had never seen her ability so I was excited to see what happens. I placed my hand on her shoulder and she reached out a hand. Her fingers started moving slightly as if she was trying to draw something in the air. I watched as another Jimin and Yoongi appeared in the clearing and they started fighting. I had to turn back to the real Yoongi and Jimin to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Then, the illusion grew as copies of Willa, Jin, and Jungkook appeared as well, cheering on the fight. It looked so real and I was amazed. As more copies started to slowly appear, I felt light headed and extremely tired. My knees started to wobble as I tightly grasped Dakota's shoulder to keep myself from falling. I felt another pair of arms wrap around my waist as I let go of Dakota's shoulder, being gently lowered to the ground.

"Alanna are you ok?" I looked up to see Taehyung holding me in his lap.

"Umm I think so. Just got really dizzy and tired." I put a hand on my head.

"I'm sorry! That's my fault. I got excited and just kept pulling all the energy I could feel." Dakota was kneeling beside me. I started to feel a lot better, but still tired.

"Don't worry about it. That was so cool." Dakota and I started laughing a little. I started to get up and Taehyung didn't let go, helping me to my feet. I felt how worried he was as well as amazed. I looked at him and gave him a little smile letting him know that I could feel what he felt.

"Let's be done for today ok everyone?" Taehyung told the pack. He wrapped an arm around my waist leading me inside.

"Taehyung, I can walk." I said giggling. He pulled his arm from my waist and just as I was about to start walking, I felt my feet lift off the ground as one arm was under my knees and another around my shoulder.

"Not if I can help it." He said, smirking at me. As he carried me inside, he stopped at the stairs and put me down. "I'll let you walk up the stairs on your own."

"I'm going upstairs am I?"

"Yes you are! I can tell that you're tired so off to bed." I leaned towards him and placed my hands on his shoulders then lightly kissed his cheek. I felt a very brief warm sensation all throughout my body. I could feel how nervous he was as well as happy. I smiled at him and then walked up the stairs so I could take a nap. Once I was comfortable under my blankets, I quickly fell asleep.

I woke up in a forest with the sunlight just barely peeking through the treetops. This was not a part of the forest that I was familiar with and when I looked down at my body I was wearing a white sun dress and barefoot. What is going on? I stood up and when I turned around, I saw her...the beautiful pale lady that I had met on the cliff.

"You again! I'm sorry, but I don't remember your name." I asked, stepping towards her. She smiled sweetly at me before she spoke.

"Selene." I paused trying to remember where I had heard that name from. My eyes went wide when it finally came to me.

"You're the goddess of the moon!" She nodded. "Why am I here? I was just sleeping in my bed."

"No fear." She shook her head and then gestured towards a cliff side that we were next to. It was covered in vines and overgrowth. I slowly walked towards it and started pulling some of the vines down. I stepped back and noticed that this seemed to be an archway that had collapsed. In getting closer to some of the rock, I saw a symbol. I traced my finger across what looked like the outline of a wolf and then a moon and then a knife. I was confused and turned back to Selene. She didn't look sad, but I could see tears on her cheek. "Protect." was the last thing she said before she slowly faded away. I turned back around to the cliffside and froze. What was once rubble was now a beautiful archway into a dark cave. I felt a strong wind pull me into the cave and I was enveloped in darkness.

I jolted awake trying to catch my breath. This was the second dream I had with Selene...now that I remembered who she was. I threw the blanket off of me and ran out of my room. I needed answers.

A/N: Another dream? What could this cave be? Why does Alanna need to protect it?
