IV

"Gladly" I stormed out of the room and walked right to the front door opening it and then slamming it behind me. I didn't have any shoes on, but I had walked around the forest barefoot before so I wasn't bothered. I could feel my face heating up and I know it was red from how angry I was. My nails were digging into my palms as I clenched my fist tight, storming into the treeline, farther from my supposed home. The dried leaves softly crunched under my bare feet as the mud oozed between my toes. The forest floor was a little cold as my feet started to become numb. I finally stopped and leaned up against a tree and screamed as loud as I could, letting all the anger I had out. What followed were tears. I sobbed for the life I had and for the unknown life that I was forced into. My knees gave out as I fell to the ground. Taehyung was right; I wasn't going to go back to Clarmore. What was I supposed to do now? Be forced into a crazy relationship because some moon goddess intertwined our souls? He doesn't even like me or know me. I felt a hand on my shoulder as I looked to see Jungkook kneeling in front of me.

"Hey. I am really sorry that all this is happening, but please don't run off. You're making my job a lot harder." I could tell he was trying to make me feel better as I smiled at him and wiped the tears from my face and eyes.

"It's not your fault." Jungkook leaned against the tree next to me and looked out into the forest. We stayed silent for a while enjoying the sounds of the forest and company of a new friend. I heard him let out a heavy sigh before he broke the silence.

"There are two ways in which someone becomes a werewolf. One, you're born into it as in your parents are both werewolves. The other, is you are bitten by an Alpha on a New Moon night. The second one is forbidden by the Council...and how I became a werewolf." He kept looking out into the forest.

I turned my head towards him. "Really? Taehyung bit you?" I saw him shake his head.

"No it was someone else wanting to make their own pack. I was a first year in university and was excited to start the next part of my life. I had some good friends and my family was pretty supportive. I decided to take a late night jog and wanted to go off the trail a bit. I always ran at this park that was close to the school that was right next to these woods. I ran a little bit into the woods and out of nowhere, I felt something sharp on my calf." He turned his leg and showed me the bite mark that had now scarred on his calf. "I was sick for about a week until the full moon came. He found me curled up in my bed in my dorm and took me to the forest that was by the park. He explained very little about what I was and why it was happening but that I belonged to him and needed to listen to him. I didn't understand what was going on, but there was something in me that made me listen to him, plus I had just shifted into a damn animal so I knew I couldn't go back. I was part of his pack but he was ruthless and down right mean. After about 6 months, I couldn't do it anymore and I left, went rogue. I didn't know how to survive on my own and was about to just end everything when I came across another rogue wolf. She explained to me as best as she could what I was and helped me to survive. She was born a werewolf but left her pack to find another. We became close and she became family to me since I had to leave mine." He paused and looked at me. "Willa has one of kindest hearts." He gave me a small smile.

"Wait! The wolf was Willa? So you two knew each other before everyone else?" He nodded.

"We were hunting one day when we could smell other wolves in the area. We tried to move away so as not to cause a fight, but I ended up running right into Taehyung. We fought for a bit before Willa stepped in between us. Taehyung was about to do what Alphas do best and let us know that he was in charge when Yoongi actually got in front of him to stop him from hurting Willa. The mate bond between those two was extremely clear as soon as they were together. Seeing that, it was hard for Taehyung not to accept us into his pack. I worked my ass off showing Taehyung that I was trustworthy and could contribute to the pack. I'm glad he took a chance on me and made me his Zeta." He took a deep breath. "What I'm trying to say is I didn't have a choice in this life either, but this pack that I came to be with, this family, is honestly the best thing to happen to me!

"Do you not remember your life before this?"

"I know I had friends and a good family, but my bond I have with the guys and Willa and Dakota is so much more. I wouldn't change it!" I saw the sincerity and love in his eyes for his friends.

"It's just not the same with me Jungkook. I'm human! I don't have that pack mentality."

"When we first met, you told me that you hoped I had family or friends to go home to. Well, now you know that I do. This family is the best thing to ever happen to me and we may be pretty dysfunctional at times, but you will see just how much we all care for each other. That is, if you choose to stay." He looked over at me with sad eyes.

"I don't really have anywhere else to go, plus I really don't think I have a choice" I leaned my head back against the tree, looking up at the sky.

"I know you don't know any of us, but give us a chance and if you ever need to just take a walk into the woods, please let me know first and I would be happy to join you. I don't want to get in trouble for losing you."

"Did Taehyung put you on prisoner duty?" I rolled my eyes as my harsh words made Jungkook stand up and face me.

"Actually no. He told me to make sure that you are always protected and safe." I felt a little bad for what I said, but then remembered how Taehyung spoke to me earlier and then I didn't feel as bad. "I know that Taehyung can be a bit of a hardass, but he cares about everyone here and is a really sweet and fun guy when you really get to know him." He held out his hand to help me up and I accepted. We walked around the forest just a bit longer as I told him the stories the townspeople were telling of the strange creatures in the forest and he would tell me funny stories of his pack. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I had a true friend.

Taehyung's POV

"Gladly" I watched as she stormed out of my office and I heard the front door open and slam shut. I walked over to my desk and pounded my fist on top of all the papers that were scattered about. I hung my head and replayed everything that just happened. Why was I so stupid! I heard the door to my office close and turned to see Hosek and Namjoon.

"Care to share with us what the hell that was about?" Hosek asked.

"Not really." I continued to stare at my desk, not moving.

"Tae...come on" Namjoon spoke up. I stood up and faced them.

"I don't understand this! She is a human! A human who had a life and I ripped that away from her! But when I try to give her a home and people who will care for her, she calls me a monster!" In anger, I shove everything that was on my desk to the floor in one swipe of my hands. I felt my knees give out and fell to the floor, putting my face in my hands letting out an angry scream. I felt hands on my shoulders and looking up, I saw Hosek right by my side.

"We are trying to learn as much as we can about human mates and will let you know when we find something. We promise!"

"I just hate this feeling of always wanting to be around her and touch her, but I know that I can't. It hurts, it physically hurts." Hosek grabs my head and pulls me to his chest. He always knows how to comfort me and calm me down. "But I understand where she is coming from. She wants to choose to love someone and I can't say that I disagree."

"You will get all this figured out. Let her spend some time with the rest of the pack. Maybe do something nice for her?" I pulled my head away and looked at Hosek, furrowing my brows. "You were kind of a dick when you just told her to follow you."

"Ya, I guess you're right, but I have other shit to figure out right now." I stood up and started to pick up all the papers that were now scattered on the floor.

"That reminds me, Dakota and Jimin traveled North today and only went as far as you suggested. No sign of the Daeva." Namjoon stepped forward speaking.

"Nothing?" I was shocked as Namjon just shook his head. "They are close and in this forest somewhere." I grabbed the map of the forest and marked off the location Dakota and Jimin had traveled too. Both Hosek and Namjoon stood around the map as well.

"We can try here tomorrow." Hosek said, pointing to the Southern part of the forest. "How far do you want them to go this time?"

"Same distance. I don't want anyone traveling too far away from home."

"Got it." Hosek nodded and then looked over to Namjoon. I saw the glances between the two and became confused.

"What?" I asked them both.

"Well, it's a New Moon tomorrow and we were thinking it would be a perfect excuse to relax a bit around the fire." Namjoon said.

"Ya and to welcome Alanna." Hosek said excitedly.

"Oh ya, sounds like a great idea." I was a little hesitant in my words, but knew that my pack needed this. Namjoon and Hosek started smiling as soon as I approved it.

"Sweet! I'll go to town with a couple others in the morning." Hosek started jumping up and down.

"I'll chop some more wood." Namjoon shared in the excitement with Hosek and I couldn't help but to laugh and just shake my head.

"Will you crazy kids get out of here so I can finish my work?" I smiled back at them.

"Kids? We are both older than you!" Namjoon stated.

"Yes and I can see how mature you are acting." I gave them a wink and they just laughed at me and started to walk out.

"Don't stay up too late." Hosek shouted before closing my door.

I let out a heavy sigh as I made my way to my desk chair. As I sat down, I looked over the map and all the information I had gathered trying to piece everything together. I was left with more questions than answers as to why the Daeva wanted to hurt me so badly and where in the world they could be hiding. As I was trying to figure out where to search next, I felt Alanna's presence. She had come back into the house and passed by my door, assuming she made her way to the kitchen. A little while later, she passed by again and headed upstairs. It was late, so I decided to put away everything and head upstairs to bed as well. I had to pass by her bedroom in order to get to mine and I found my feet stopping in front of her door. I felt the need to open the door and press my body against hers, dominate her in every way. I have had this feeling ever since I saw her over a week ago and it frustrated me that I had this instinct in me and I wanted it to just go away! I clenched my fist and closed my eyes telling myself to calm down and that I couldn't do that to her. When I felt calm enough I turned and continued to walk towards my own bedroom to finally rest for the night

Alanna POV

Once Jungkook and I had walked for a bit, we headed back to the house. I felt a whole lot better as we entered the house. We both were a little hungry so went straight for the kitchen. We found Hosek, Dakota, and Jin in the kitchen as well.

"Oh perfect! Hey, tomorrow we are having a bonfire." Hosek said as soon as he saw Jungkook and I walk in.

"Awesome!" Jungkook reached into a cabinet and pulled out a couple bags of chips, placing them on the counter. I immediately started grabbing handfuls as everyone gathered around the counter to snack. "Can I go into town this time?" Jungkook said pleading with Hosek.

"I can stay here so Jungkook can go." Dakota said as she grabbed a handful of chips. I saw Jin wrap his arm around her waist, pulling her close.

"What if I want you to go though." Jin's voice was deep as I saw him bite his lip. Dakota laid her head on his chest and didn't even look up at him.

"Down boy, you will be fine." They both giggled and I couldn't help but to smile at how cute they were being.

"How can I help?" I asked. I knew they would all have their part in preparing and I didn't want to just sit around.

"Well, we have to get everything first and when we get back, Jin will be in the kitchen making everything..." Hosek was trying to think of what else needed to be done.

"I can help Jin, if you don't mind another cook in the kitchen." I turned to Jin.

"I would gladly welcome it, but I'm not sure what to make. What do you guys think?" Everyone was trying to think of what they wanted when I decided to suggest something.

"I make a mean stew if you guys like soup." I didn't realize how excited they would all get when I suggested it so I jumped a little when Jungkook shouted.

"Oh my goodness yes!! That sounds great!" Jungkook tried to say through the mouthful of cookies he currently had.

"Ya! Make a list of things for me to get when I'm in town." Hosek got up and went to a drawer, grabbing a pad of paper and a pen then setting it down in front of me.

"Do you guys go into Clarmore for the things you need?" I asked, while writing down the list the things that I would need.

"Nah, don't want to be seen by people we know." I quickly glanced up at Dakota who had answered my question. "We travel to the surrounding towns taking turns between each. Sometimes we will travel an hour. Don't want people to start to recognize us ya know?" I nodded in agreement towards Dakota and then handed my list to Hosek. He looked it over and nodded.

"This is easy enough." He folded up the paper and put it in his pocket.

"I don't mean to kick you out of the kitchen and could still use your help." I looked over asking Jin.

"Oh of course! Plus I was going to make something for dessert anyway. Not sure what yet."

"Oh before I forget, Alanna do you drink?" Hosek asked.

"Do I drink?" I was confused by his question as I furrowed my brows

"Well we're not going to sit around the fire sippin' on ice tea." He rolled his eyes. "Just wondering if you drink beer, or wine, or not at all?"

"Oh ya I'll pretty much drink whatever. I'm not picky" I shrugged as I then felt an arm come around and grab my shoulder as I was pulled into Jungkook.

"Oh thank god! I was worried we would have a square for a Luna!" I pulled away from him and slapped his arm while laughing. He put his hands up in defense "kidding! I promise!" The word Luna stuck in my head as I then felt a yawn coming on.

"You have had a long day. Why don't you head to bed." Jin said.

"Ya good idea. Good night everyone." Everyone said good night as I walked out of the kitchen and to my room. I had just walked into my room when Dakota quickly showed up behind me.

"I forgot to tell you that Willa and I stocked your closet. If you need anything else just let us know and we can get it for you ok?"

"Thank you so much!"

"Of course, good night!" She closed the door and I heard her walk down the stairs. I started to get ready for bed and finished changing when I heard someone walking up the stairs. All of a sudden I got this feeling that someone was on the other side of my door. I walked closer to my down, quietly to see if I could hear anything. There was a part of me that was telling me that Taehyung was on the other side of the door and that I should let him in so I could wrap my arms around him. I got closer to the door, feeling my heart start to beat just a little faster. I reached out to grab the door knob, but then stopped and turned around going straight for my bed letting my body collapse into the mattress. I pulled the blankets over me trying to shake Taehyung's face from my mind as I finally fell asleep.
