Y/n had been in the infirmary for almost  two weeks. Eren hardly left her side neither did Armin nor Mikasa they took turns sitting with the unconscious girl talking to her giving her comfort. The doctor had said the y/n had a 50/50 chance of ever waking up but Eren Mikasa and Armin never gave up home. While the three were looking after y/n Erwin and Levi and hanji began looking for clues and suspects. The day y/n was found in her room and after the grueling hours of her in the operating room they searched her room for evidence they found hairs they found what they believed to be possibly the weapon that was used to hurt her and the scary part about that was the knife is very similar to the one that Levi had when he had when he was in the  underground city this bothered him very much but he kept it to himself not letting anyone know that this might be someone that he could know. Erwin had noticed that Levi had been looking lost in thought a lot he also noticed that Levi seemed to be very distant he would not talk very much about the case and it seemed as he as though he might be hiding something Erwin did not want to point fingers at his very good friend he knew he was innocent but he still knew he needed to question him. Erwin looked to Levi and motioned to him to follow him as they began to walk to Erwins office Erwin studied Levi's face. He knew Levi very well so well in fact that just seeing his eyes told him an array of emotions that he was feeling. He knew when something was bothering him and right now it was so obvious to Erwin that he could not leave this alone. As they walked through the doors of Erwins office Erwin pointed to one of the chairs in front of his large oak desk. " you wanna tell me what's been bothering you about this case I know you ether know something or your hiding something and what ever it is I hope you know that as your friend I will do what I can to help you or listen to you and what is bothering you" Levi looked at Erwin Levi finally spoke. " that knife we found it looked exactly like the knife I had when I was Underground and the only person who had a knife similar to mine was someone in my past that I thought was dead and now this is really bothering me because I think they might actually be alive but I don't know why they're targeting y/n I barely know the girl we've only pretty much just nodded heads in the hallway I've never really spoken to her Eren's the one that is always with her so why he's targeting someone I barely know if they even are trying to just hurt me or maybe it was another reason why he's targeting her" Erwin looked at Levi a look of concern on his face something a lot of people did not know about y/n and Erwin was that they had a relationship like father and daughter he looked after her and he always wanted to protect her he's not one to show his emotions on his sleeve but on the inside he is a mess he wants to find out who did this to the girl he viewed as his own child not many people know this about y/n and Erwin and it would be safe for it to stay that way. So Levi's answer that he had possibly known who did this upset him greatly he stood up so fast he took large steps to Levi and grabbed his shoulders roughly. This shocked Levi greatly not only did this shock him it also deep down he was frightened. " you mean to tell me that you knew the person who is very possibly responsible for this and you didn't think it necessary to share this with me do you have any idea what this case has been doing to me you have no idea what this girl means to me she is the only thing I can consider my  family and it didn't even pass through that thick skull of yours to even mention that you possibly know who did this you have no idea how much this angers me and I really really want to punch you so bad right now you have no idea how bad I want to hurt you right now you're lucky I have good restraint for if I did not right now you'd be dead" Levi looked at Erwin with such shock and fear Erwin had tightened his grip I'm leaving shoulders to the point where he left two big bruises but Levi also began to feel lots of guilt for not saying anything to his dear friend especially now knowing how he feels about this girl even he who is very good friends with him I had no clue that he viewed one of the cadets as an only child it no make sense why whenever they were on expedition he would keep her by your side he wouldn't leave her alone for a second on an expedition and this all became clear Levi and the pain of guilt he felt in his heart actually started bringing tears to his eyes this begin to bother him very very much and because of this the tears that begin to fall from his eyes softened Erwin's heart he realized that he may have been very hard on Levi he always thought of Levi the strong independent man but he never really stopped to consider that Levi actually felt these very strong emotions he thought the day that Isabel and farlan that he had locked those kind of  emotions away Erwin felt very bad for yelling at Levi, yes Levi should of said something to Erwin about his knowledge of the attacker but he could have been more subtle about it he didn't need to yell in his face and hurt his feelings like that. He looked to Levi and said " I apologize I didn't mean to come off so rude this is just really bothering me I view this girl as my own flesh and blood she is like a child that I never got to have and the thought of losing her just breaks my heart into shredz I'm very worried that I'm going to lose the girl that I cherish so much but please if she does happen to survive do not tell anyone about how I feel about this girl for sure our enemies will use to get to me into the scouts and make a weakness so they can attack us" Levi wiped his eyes he now knew why Erwin was so upset about this he felt bad but now it was time to speak on what he knew as he was about to open his mouth hanji burst through the door and yelled " she's awake!"
