Chapter Seven
The world felt like it came to a stand still when Peter revealed an Alpha pack would be entering Beacon Hills, and when he revealed the truth about my family.
But, for the longest time I've had this question. What did my ancestor do that was so bad... that made a witch turn him into a regular human again? It couldn't have been that bad. Maybe she was sensitive.
"You like like you have a lot on your mind." Erica had her feet propped up on my windowsill, nearly knocking over the candle that was almost gone already, arms crossed as she sat in my chair.
"I don't. Actually, lately it feels like I haven't had a thought run through my mind." I bent forward, elbows propping themselves on my knees, hands clasped together as I rested my chin on my knuckles. "I haven't seen Stiles in a few days because I—"
"Your nightmares." Erica interrupted, and I turned to her, frowning.
"How did— how did you know about those?" I asked as she clicked her tongue.
"Stiles told me. He didn't say what you've been dreaming about, but he wanted to make sure you were doing okay so..." she shrugged. "I offered to help."
"You offered?" I asked and Erica kicked her feet off the window, standing up.
"Yes, I offered. Because I want to be on your good side. You've show. Well enough you'd do anything to protect the people you care about, what with threatening to kill me because I hurt Stiles." Erica flipped her hair out of her face and I rolled my eyes slightly. "Look. Stiles has been worried about you ever since Jackson ran off. It's driving him crazy that you aren't talking to him about the nightmares."
"I can't tell him, Erica." I sat down, tears threatening to fall down my cheeks as she sat down next to me, confusion written on her face.
"Why not?" She whispered, going to place a comforting hand on my shoulder before pausing, resting it in her lap.
"Because they— my nightmares... Stiles is always in them."
"What's so bad about that? He doesn't get killed, does he?" She asked and I shook my head, wiping a tear away.
"No. He doesn't. Lately, my dreams have felt like they are becoming reality. I heard his voice in the radio a few nights back, and it scared the living shit out of me. And yesterday, I heard his voice again."
"What did he say yesterday?" I turned to look at Erica, her eyes showing that she would either help me through this, or never tell a surviving soul.
"It wasn't clear... but I think it said Derek."
"Derek? That's strange. What um... what happens in the nightmares?" She asked, turning to face me.
"It's always in the same place. Right next to this large tree stump... he called it the Nemeton."
"He as in Stiles?" She raised a brow when I shook my head.
"No. It's not Stiles. Well... it is but.. it's not him. The Stiles in my nightmares is always wearing this gray stripped jacket and dark pants. He's uh— he's pale and has dark pink circles under his eyes... and he basically looks dead. And his voice rings in my ears when he talks."
"So. It's like a nightmare version of your boyfriend." Erica suggested and I shrugged.
"Basically. And he's always threatening to kill me... and— and he said we'd meet soon... but I don't know what that means." My eyes widened as a horrified image appeared in my head. "Oh my god... do you think that Stiles is gonna turn evil or something?!"
"No! No. Stiles will be okay. He's not gonna turn evil. He won't die. We'll make sure he survives, okay?" Erica smiled softly as I nodded, still unsure of her words would be kept like a promise.
All in due time.
Sorry for the really short chapter! This was all I could think of.
I'm trying to give Erica, Isaac and Boyd more time with Dean in this book than the last one since... Y'know what happens to them this season, and don't you just love it when Authors give their OC's more trauma to deal with😍
Anyways, hope you enjoyed the short chapter. I don't have work until Friday so maybe you'll get more chapters this week !
