LIX - Fall Of The SS Foundation Part 2
Polly couldn't believe it. Her own sister, a girl whom she loved very dearly, was murdered before her own eyes. She watched in horror as the life quickly drained out of Evelyn. Her legs trembled, and she tried to keep her own balance, but she failed.
Why?
That was the question she was asking herself. Over and over again until there was no point asking it because she knew that there wouldn't be an answer.
Why? Why Evelyn? Why not her?
Rosalie's cold laughter rung in Polly's ears. It was like a sharp blade slicing through her heart.
"Why did you do this?!" The White Queen exclaimed, tears beginning to run down her cheeks. "Why Evelyn?! Why not me?!"
Rosalie's answer was just more laughter.
That bitch! The thoughts swirled around in Polly's mind. And yet she is nothing but a fragment of evil! Why couldn't it have been me she had killed? Is she just making me suffer even more? ANSWER ME!
The thought suddenly struck Polly like an archer firing an arrow. No, of course not. It was too impossible to be true. "No..." She whispered, losing her balance and collapsing to the ground. "No. Evelyn... You sacrificed yourself for me?"
Polly turned her gaze over the Evelyn's lifeless body, the wound still present in her chest. Blood stained Evelyn's ball gown. She looked nothing like the sister Polly once knew.
"Was this your plan?" Polly questioned through her tears. "Are you doing this to make me suffer even more?"
Rosalie smirked at Polly's words, and only nodded.
"I knew it." Polly shook her head and looked down at her hand. "I-Is there a way you can bring her back?"
Rosalie once again nodded, the smirk still present upon her lips.
"If you kill me... You'll bring Evelyn back, won't you?"
"What's Rosalie's part in this?" Rosalie snarled, taking a step towards Polly, mallet at the ready.
"Y-You've always desired to be the White Queen, right? I-If you kill me, and bring back Evelyn, you can have the title of the White Queen. You can have all which you've ever desired. You can lead the SS Foundation. You can have this all if you bring back Evelyn. I'm pleading you Rosalie. What's your decision?"
Rosalie stopped for a moment in thought. "And Rosalie can have the SS Foundation?"
"Yes. You can have it all Rosalie. If you just bring back Evelyn and take me in her place!"
"It's a deal." Rosalie grinned, walking over to Polly. She raised the mallet, laughing at Polly's pleading form.
"Wait what are you-?!" Polly exclaimed.
A blast of fire hit Rosalie, sending her crashing against a pillar.
"POLLY!"
Polly turned her head, eyes widening. "Cinder?"
Cinder sighed in relief, and grabbed a hold of Polly's hand. "W-What were you doing?"
"She promised-!" Polly swallowed back her tears, not taking her eyes off Evelyn. "She promised she could bring Evelyn back if I died instead!"
"What?! Polly, you were making a deal with one of Salem's most trusted minions! We have to go! Now!"
"But Evelyn-!"
"Mercury!" Cinder turned her gaze over to Mercury, who was fighting off Grimm with Emerald.
"Yeah?!" Mercury voice yelled over the gunshots and cries of dying grimm.
"Get Evelyn!"
"What?! Listen Cinder, I trust you and all and I would do anything for you but carrying around corpses is just not happening! Get Mountain to do it!"
"MERCURY! "
"Oh for fucks sake! FINE!" Mercury groaned, and kicked away one last Beowolf. He ran over towards Cinder and Polly, and scooped Evelyn up into his arms, cringing at the sight of her wound. "And why exactly am I doing this?"
"Mercury! I'm warning you!" Cinder exclaimed.
"Cinder we have to get out of here now!" Emerald yelled.
"Right!" Cinder nodded. She kept a hold of Polly's hand and signalled for Mercury and Emerald to follow her. Seeing an opening amongst the flames which were now consuming the SS Foundation, she ran towards it, making sure that everybody was closely behind her.
They ran out of the SS Foundation, but as soon as they were out they didn't stop running. They just continued to run and run, hoping that eventually the night would consume them, and any details of them being there were forgotten...
-
"Loki, we have to go." Sebastian Byzzi kept a tight grip of his daughters hand, as he watched the chaos unfold.
"And let the innocent die a terrible death?!" Loki exclaimed. "No father! We have to help them!"
"And get ourselves killed?!"
Loki took a step back, her eyes widening in shock. "Is that all you care about? Yourself?"
"Of course I care about myself! I also care about you Loki! But we cannot care for others! We have a wonderful life ahead of us and so what?! We're going to have to let people suffer in order for our lives to reach it's peak of perfection but does that really matter?! Fame and fortune is one of the many keys to life Loki, you must learn that. It helps us survive!"
"You're wrong!" Loki shouted. "You're nothing but a cold hearted bastard!!"
"Loki, this is your final warning!" Sebastian yelled, pulling Loki close to him. His grip on Loki's hand was growing stronger and stronger.
"FATHER-!"
Sebastian growled and dragged Loki away with him, out of the SS Foundation. A large airship stood on the grounds of the Foundation, and Sebastian pushed Loki inside of it. He climbed in, and the door closed behind them.
"We're going to have a talk about this attitude of yours when we get back home, Lachlan Kelly Byzzi." Sebastian spat, as the airship slowly began to rise off the ground.
Loki could only watch in horror as the SS Foundation grew further and further away, knowing that she was doing nothing to help, and that she was leaving her own teammates behind.
-
Jess ran out of the SS Foundation, desperate to help those outside. She wanted to find Ollie as well, but she couldn't see the raven black haired boy anywhere amongst the crowds. She felt her heart beat faster and faster and she ran about the grounds, slashing grimm along the way with her katana.
"OLLIE!" She shouted, and yet no response came to her. Did he leave the SS Foundation? Did he run?
She felt herself panic as she shouted his name over and over again, only to get no response every single time.
She ran around the corner, hoping that he would be there, hoping that she could run into his arms and hear him whisper that everything would be alright.
But the redhead found a very different sight around the corner.
Draven stood with a platinum blonde haired girl, shooting away at the grimm. Maybe he was a good guy after all?
She ran towards them, the autumn leaves crunching beneath her shoes. She was in so much pain, but that didn't matter now.
"Draven!" She called his name, and continued to run over to him.
Draven turned and pointed the gun he was holding at Jess, narrowing his blood red eyes.
"Who's this, Drav?" Celenia asked, frowning at Jess.
"It's that Ciane kid, babe. Do I shoot her?"
"Don't. Zero gave you specific orders to kill her father."
Jess' eyes widened in shock. "I knew it!" She shouted. "You're working for Salem, aren't you?! You're the ones causing this hell!"
"Took you a while to find that out." Draven replied. "Honestly, I'm surprised you even trusted me with the information about your father."
"Why are you doing this?!" Jess questioned, her tone bitter.
"It would be a bit stupid of me to answer that one, kid."
Jess frowned. "I'm not a kid."
"On second thoughts, she's being a pest Drav. Shoot her already and then it's over and done with." Celenia snarled.
Draven nodded, and aimed his gun. He pulled the trigger, a smirk forming on his lips.
Jess stood, frozen. She couldn't run. She was just frozen in place, like a block of ice. She braced herself for the pain, turning her gaze away from Draven.
But the pain never arrived.
Jess raised one eyebrow, and turned her gaze back, only to find Anthony blocking Draven's attack with his sword. "Dad?!"
"Don't hurt my daughter!" Anthony roared.
"Ah, I had a feeling you'd show up Anthony." Celenia smirked. "Say, Drav, how about we take these two out? Two on two?"
Draven nodded, a little bit surprised at Anthony's sudden appearance.
Jess looked up at her father, simpering slightly.
Anthony smiled down at her. "We'll defeat them, won't we? Father and daughter?"
The redhead nodding, pressing a button on her katana in order for it to change forms. As she did so, she felt herself get pushed away.
She stumbled back in shock, only to find herself in an airship. "What the-!"
"Another time!" Anthony yelled.
"What?! Dad! No-!" Jess attempted to step out of the airship, but the door slammed shut. She felt the airship begin to take off, and panicked. "DAD! NO! DON'T DO THIS!" She banged against the door, watching her father begin to fight Draven and Celenia.
Tears began to roll down her cheeks, as she continued to bang on the door. "DAD!!!" She exclaimed. She felt herself collapse to the ground. "Don't do this..."
She stared down at her palm, before clenching her fist. The world around her began to grow smaller, and the SS Foundation began to grow out of fight.
"You're going home kid." The pilot's voice echoed from behind her. "Congratulations."
-
"So our plan is successful?" Salem questioned.
"Yes. The SS Foundation is being destroyed brick by brick. Many causalities have been taken." Watts stated.
"Perfect! Things are finally going my way! Now all we need to do is get the rest of the maiden's powers."
"Goddess, excuse me for disturbing you." Tyrian coughed. "But there is someone who wants to see you."
The doors suddenly opened with a bang, and Salem turned her gaze, a smirk forming upon her lips.
"Ah, Roman. It's been a long time..."
