the half moon meeting consisted of about an hour of socializing, and then each of the leaders for each of the species stood on a large pedestal lined with gold. the designs on the pedestal always made taehyung envy it's beauty. when he went to his first half moon meeting, it was the only thing he could focus on, the way the shimmering, shining gold blinded him. when his grandfather would stand there and preach words of kindness and love towards the species, he knew he wanted to be just like him. that was, until a gear shifted within him, baekhyun being the reason he shifted moods and intentions so rapidly.

baekhyun's teasing and awful treatment caused him to close himself off from a real, loving life. taehyung has never loved, he shares a deep connection with his father, sure. but could he say he really loved him? admired his strength, perhaps. his father never really cared, so why should he? taehyung knew who he loved, he loved his grandfather, dearly. his grandfather ruled with his head held high, his heart full of pride and wisdom. but he was gone, dead. no love lingered in him now.

taehyung watched as the fairy queen walked up the stairs, her lips parting as if she were to speak. a few guards followed her up, standing closely beside her, swords drawn. they more looked at the werewolves than any other group. taehyung didn't know the word could spread so quickly- but then again the werewolves had had a former attack on the fairies and elves, which killed the majority of them. they were still rebuilding. taehyung just wanted to know why this alpha had chosen violence over peace.

the fairy queen's recap was quick, her eyes frantic as she stepped down the stairwell. the warlocks- all who showed walked up the stairs and onto the pedestal. no leader really lead the warlocks, they were all really friendly with each other. taehyung watched as the warlocks spoke freely, about clients and the stuff they have been working on for the kingdoms. finally the vampires were allowed to speak on the pedestal, walking up the steps with a straight face.

taehyung stood beside his father, instantly feeling all eyes on him. he'd try and mask the nervousness as his father began to speak. "a few days ago, we announced the new prince of the vampire kingdom. kim taehyung." taehyung felt his feet move for him, taking a step forward in confidence. the air around him fell silent. "he has great potential and i hope that you all welcome him into royalty." taehyung could feel his eyes morph into the majestic yellow color.

a cloud of smoke, yellow in color surrounded him as he stared into the sea of colorful eyes, none housing the royal yellow he portrayed. he felt a shock wave course through his veins. this was it, he was a known prince, a known vampire prince.

the crowd cheered, well except for the werewolves. taehyung took a step back, the smoke fading into the air as his eyes took their original blood red color. his crown felt heavy against his head, but the nice kind of heavy. the kind of heavy that proves he was worth something. he let go of a nervous breath.

the king continued to talk, not once speaking of the attack against the vampires. he did not want to stir up anything on what was considered a sacred meeting of the kingdoms. the vampires finished their speech, descending down the steps and back onto the meeting grounds.

taehyung finally thought he could rest a bit, his royal performance draining him of energy. he'd sit by the edge of the vampire cluster, his fangs growing as a familiar werewolf scent crossed his airway. what now? he turned over his shoulder and in the distance, quite far from the grand center in the dark night, a pair of blue glowing eyes. the prince sighed, standing and walking straight from the grand center and into the cold night.

the werewolf emerged from the darkness and stared at the prince with admiration. he began to speak. "that was really impressive, that performance you had up there- kim taehyung."

taehyung scowled, feeling a very angered hiss grow in his throat. "is that all you have to say?" the werewolf looked saddened that the prince didn't appreciate the compliment, but it didn't alter his mood too badly. he knew the prince was a very reserved person, and he had to be trusted by him before he said risky things such as that.

"well, i thought you might be hungry." the werewolf mumbled, his confidence plummeted after the subtle rejection. yet he saw the vampire become skeptical. so much so, the vampire neared the werewolf with narrowed eyes. the prince rose a hand to the werewolf's neck.

"so warm." the vampire whispered, his instincts overtaking him as his fangs grew in size. he leaned forward and punctured the skin of the werewolf's neck. jeongguk groaned in discomfort as he felt the life being drained out of him, vampire venom coursing through his blood. vampire venom wasn't deadly, it just made the victim fall weary and in a trance, unable to feel strong or dominating.

the vampire took his share- which wasn't a lot. he pulled himself out of the amazing feeling of finally being full of warm, human blood. he dragged his fangs away from jeongguk's neck, feeling blood drip down his chin. jeongguk's eyes flashed a red color as he tried to stay upright.

"that's all? you won't take anymore? i expected to be drained." he laughed, swaying to the left. taehyung gripped onto the werewolf's shoulders, steadying him. "i didn't know vampire venom would feel like this."

taehyung sighed, wiping away the blood from his chin on his beautiful dress shirt. he'd help jeongguk sit down against a tree. the werewolf stared up into the night sky, it was getting lighter. the half moon meeting seemed to be coming to an end, the werewolves must have had a peaceful speech.

"royal venom feels nicer than just regular venom. it doesn't hurt as bad." taehyung lowered himself to the ground as well, right in front of the werewolf. he decided that it wouldn't matter if he was gone for just a few minutes. "it will be a few hours before it's out of your system. thank you. i feel a lot better, actually. this doesn't mean we can hang out- though. okay? i can't be seen with a werewolf. especially not when your kind attacked mine."

jeongguk frowned, "but the plan i mentioned, it could still happen right? taehyung-"

taehyung flinched, oh right, he knew his name now. thanks to his father preaching it out. he wasn't used to being called his actual name by jeongguk yet. he was so used to being referred to as "prince". taehyung looked down at the blue eyed beast. his hair was messy, but his clothing contrasted it. he had on a blue dress shirt, with black dress pants.

"i need your help, so please just consider it."

"that's what i'm trying to do! but every time i think about any possible negative outcomes, i panic. look, werewolf. i'm a new prince, anything big or flashy, any scheme that we can't actually pull off, but we try anyway- and we fail... i'm done for! i might as well be staked in front of everyone." taehyung watched the threatening blue eyes narrow in utmost determination.

"i'll make sure that won't happen. it's a priority." the werewolf concluded the topic there, taehyung feeling strange. he had never just sat and listening to the sounds of the woods around him. the sky was marvelous, but the air was cold. so much so that he even started shivering- and he was meant to endure the cold. "didn't know vampires could feel the cold."

"didn't know werewolves were this persistent- and, you don't know a lot of things." the vampire prince took off his crown, the flashing, color changing eyes very noticeable. jeongguk stared in amazement, his eyes following the prince's movement as he set it on the ground.

"come closer."

"was that a demand?" taehyung narrowed his naturally scarlet eyes and furrowed his dark eyebrows. the blue eyed beast cracked a sweet smile and patted the ground beside him, which happened to be decorated with big roots that sprouted from the bottom of the tree.

"it was an offer."

"can i decline?" the prince seemed to lighten up, the smallest curve appeared on his lips. he needed to let loose, all this royal responsibility was getting to his head.

"you can if you want to, but it would really hurt my feelings. i would never be the same again." jeongguk pouted, his lips puffing out as he sank against the tree trunk.

"oh dear, now we would never want that." the vampire prince scooted along the dirty ground and against the tree trunk. taehyung instantly felt warmer as he sat closer to jeongguk, not that he would admit that he liked the feeling.

jeongguk lifted his arm and placed it around the vampire's shoulder. "is this okay?"

"its fine." taehyung shamelessly admitted. he'd close his eyes and reminisce in the fuzzy, warm feeling within his chest- and entire body.

"my name is jeongguk, by the way." the werewolf snickered into the silent night, thinking it was appropriate that he shared his name with the prince.

"i know." taehyung said quietly, leaning more into the werewolf's chest, indulging in his natural body heat... but this was only a one time thing. never to happen again.

or so he thought.
