"We've got to help him, somehow!" Alan confides in Rachel.

"But how do you propose we do that? You mentioned it yourself that conventional weapons won't be able to stop the creature"

"No, not stop it, but maybe...just maybe to stall its advance, to give Shingen all the help he can get."

Alan rallies his troops and directs them to open fire on the creature exhausting their artillery. The plan works as the creature is distracted by the incoming mortar shells, a hailstorm of bullets with occasional grenades tossed in, and its pace slows down. Shingen uses the opportunity to slice the creature inflicting deep gashes of wounds that ephemerally incapacitate it. As the behemoth comes to a standstill Shingen uses his last bit of strength to behead the creature, releasing a burst of scarlet energy pulse which eventually destroys the monster's rampage.

As the smoke starts to clear off, Alan and Rachel hurry off to rescue Shingen who is now lying amidst the miasmic war-torn battlefield.

"Well, I'll be damned for sure," Alan said. "Never in a million years have I thought I will be helping out a vampire to save humanity but here we are, I guess"

Rachel equally amused retorts "Yup, I still don't believe it but we have to carry him into the shade else he will die here out in the scorching sun."

As Alan and Rachel help out Shingen, he orders his personnel to search the entire district for the whereabouts of Gen. Ishii who had escaped from their clutches among the conundrum. Unbeknownst to all, Ishii had succeeded in eluding his captors' clutches.

As Haruto is nursed back to health and reunites with his family Rachel and Alan expose the horrific crimes perpetrated by the government with the help of the survivors' testimony and Rachel's documentation. Rachel's fame surmounts the international media bringing her to the attention of various interviews detailing her experiences and she vows to help the remaining survivors throughout other similar facilities set up by Ishii across the entire country.

"But we still need Ishii to confess his crimes or else it will all be in vain" Rachel had said.

"Don't worry, for what it's worth he's a branded war criminal and he will be hunted like a dog wherever he goes" Alan said.

"But how can you ensure that? replies Rachel.

"I have got it covered"

Alan brings out a small recorder from inside his jacket and replays the entire conversation he had with Ishii during his time at the interrogation at the facility to which Rachel smiles brightly, bidding farewell to him.
