Shingen calls out for Alan's assistance which Alan begrudgingly agrees to and frees him as Shingen nearly collapses in his arms. He looked deathly pale from the harrowing ordeal and gasped for breath, his skin shrinking like a dried carcass. Rachel returns to aid Alan and is shell-shocked to see Shinjen's condition.

"I have to stop it or else it will destroy the lives of innocent people. Not again! not while I still breathe. These villagers are my descendants, my blood running through their veins." Shingen replied.

"There's no other way, I guess. Conventional weapons won't make a dent in that thing. I hate to agree on this but he is correct Rachel. We have seen what that creature is capable of and it's fuelled by occult energy. There's only one way to end this waking nightmare. Fight fire with fire" Alan said.

"But how do you intend to? You're on death's bed and can barely move" Rachel retorted.

"I'll have to try at least. I'll need some blood to regain my strength and get me my sword while you are at it"

But Alan notices that the morning sun was shining brightly when he recalled that Shingen will be burnt alive like their previous encounter in the jungle when the UV lights scorched his skin and share the same concern with Rachel who is equally flabbergasted to hear the current predicament. Alan concocts up an ingenuous plan which he shares with his remaining team in presence of Rachel.

"Are you out of your goddamn mind? Blocking out the Sun? As in how? That's just the most ludicrous thing that I have heard in my entire life. You surely must be joking"

"I'm dead serious! We have some smoke missiles in our HQ kept for providing tactile cover. We can launch them from here to block out the Sun temporarily to help Shingen fight with the thing else he will be toast."

As Alan hurries to prepare for the launch of the missiles, Rachel devises a nifty little idea for Shingen to gain strength. Meanwhile, Haruto returns to the vicinity of the facility with Shinjen's sword and accompanies Rachel to the now quasi-dilapidated ruins where Shingen was once held. They douse Shingen in the central pool of blood but the as the structure begins to fail further Haruto volunteers to stay back till the end of Shinjen's rejuvenation instructing Rachel to wait outside much to her stern objections.

"You have helped me enough Rachel-San, now it's my turn to return the favor," Haruto said.
