From the ground erupted a large fist made of rock and very slowly the monster came up. It was like nothing they had ever seen before it was a huge monster made if rock. It was like a man but it had sharp rocks sticking out if it's back. Ruby stepped closer to it catching it's attention.

"Ruby!" Called Sting worrying about her safety. 

"So your the ugly thing terrorising this people then. You don't look that scary to me." The monster roared so strongly that it nearly blew her away. "Was that supposed to prove something?" She said once he had gone silent again. "Let me show you what true power is." Ruby charged at the monster and jumped high into the air. The monster tried to catch her but he was too slow. Ruby landed on his arm and ran up it so that she was stood on his shoulder. "Alright we can do this the easy way where you just leave this village and never come back or we can do it the hard way where I kill you. Which will it be pea brain?" The monster roared again. "Scarlet phoenix's whip." She whipped it around the monster's other arm and landed in the ground where the others ran up to her. 

"I don't think he likes you Ruby." Said Lector.

"I got that message too. This thing is slow and seems weak in the stomach so aim your attacks there. If your helping that is, I'm quite happy for you to sit this one out."

"Are you kidding? No way we're doing that." Said Sting.

"You'll never find a Sabertooth that sits out in a fight." The monster swiped his hand to the side knocking all three of them out of the way. Ruby fell of the ground and when she opened her eyes she saw Sting on top of her. He was protecting her with his body, both his hands were either side of her head and his knees were on both sides on her hips.

"Sting what the hell?" She said pushing him off her.

"I was just protecting you."

"It's called taking advantage of the situation you jerk. Stay the hell away from me." Ruby jumped up and Sting and Rogue stood up too. A few feet away Ruby saw Lector and Frosch in the direct eye line of the monster. The monster slowly lifted up his fist and Ruby ran towards them without really thinking about it. She didn't have time to grab them and move out of the way so she had to take the hit full on.

"Scarlet phoenix's blood mist shield." In her hand appeared a hexagon shaped shield made of blood. Ruby put it out in front of her and prepared for the monsters blow. The rock fist came crashing down but Ruby and her shield held their ground. Ruby's face scrunched up in determination and she pushed the monster away. She pushed the minster back with such force that he stumbled backwards. "Are you guys alright?" She asked the two small cats.

"Thanks Ruby..." Said Lector sounding a little shocked.

"Ruby..." Said Frosch.

"Alright guys can you get back over there were it's safe?" The two nodded and went off like she asked them too. "Alright you bastard, don't think your getting away with that. Scarlet phoenix's binding." A familiar net flew towards the monster and bound him so that he couldn't move. Sting began to move towards Ruby but Rogue stopped him.

"Rogue?"

"Look at her face Sting, she will not let you interfere. She has got this we don't need to do anything. She's anger so just stay here."

"So you do want to sit this out?"

"Of course not but we will just get in her way. Look at the crowd too. They are all admiring her right now. Sabertooth's newest member is proving to the world that she belongs in this guild. Think about the head lines too. Sabertooth's newest member takes down huge monster by herself. Our lady would tell us to stay put if she were here."

"Scarlet phoenix's song." Ruby shouted as she swiped her hand to the right as a massive arc towards the monster. She aimed it at the monsters weak spot, the stomach and it cuts straight through it like it was butter. The monster howled and crumbled leaving nothing but a pile of rubble. There was silence and then the towns people began to cheer. Ruby stared at the pile of rubble, hate still present in her eyes. The guys walked over to her.

"Ruby are you okay?"

"They nearly...they nearly died...they were nearly taken away from me...yet more people I care about...gone just like that...funny how life is so fragile like that. Don't you think?" What was she talking about? Before either of them could answer Ruby turned and walked away from them. 

"Did you make any sense of that?" Asked Sting.

"I think 'they' were Lector and Frosch. She is scared about losing people she cares about. I think that in directly she just told us that she cares about us..."
