Sting, Rogue, Lector and Frosch walked through the woods on the path when Sting stopped suddenly and turned to Rogue.

"Do you smell that?" He asked. Rogue sniffed the air and caught a scent of a girl and a massive amount of blood.

"It smells like someone is hurt. We should find her, it comes from this way." The four walked in the direction of the scent until they found a girl. She was collapsed on the floor, fast asleep and covered in blood. Her breathing was heavy and her white hair was up in two pigtails either side of her head.

"She looks bad." Said Lector.

"Fro thinks so too."

"What would a girl be doing here?" Asked Sting bending down to look at her closer.

"We can ask her that when she wakes up for now we need to get her someplace safe." Said Rogue

"Where exactly are we going to take her? We're in the middle of a forest. The best thing to do is to just stay with her until she wakes, keep her safe. You know the strange thing is I can see all this blood but she hasn't got a single scratch on her."

"It might not be her blood but from the way things are I would think that unlikely." The girl's eyes twitched and she frowned in her sleep.

"I think she is waking up." Said Sting. Lector and Frosch backed away from the girl and stood close to Rogue for protection. The girl moaned and slowly sat up, rubbing her eyes with one hand. When she opened then she looked at the four with bright red eyes.

"Who the hell are you? Where am I?" She asked then looking around.

"Your in the middle of a forest. We were the ones that found you all asleep like that and covered in blood." Said Sting. The girl looked down at herself. Her blue shirt and black vest top that was over the top were soaked in blood. As well as her black trousers, black boots and her black gloves.

"Oh crap maybe I went a little over board. I have got to learn to hold back." She said standing up. "So how long have you guys been stood there just watching me sleep?" Sting and Rogue's cheeks turned pink at her comment.

"We were simply making such you were okay. It's not every day you find a girl collapsed in the middle of a forest covered in blood." Rogue explained. The girl shrugged.

"Guess that makes sense. I didn't need you guys to watch over me like I was a little kid but thanks anyway I guess. You know I thought I would be safe to sleep here, it's pretty far of the path. How did you guys find me?"

"We could smell the blood. We're dragon slayers so we have a good sense of smell."

"Dragon slayers huh?" The girl stuck out her hand. "I'm Ruby Carter." Sting took the girl small and delicate hand.

"I'm Sting Eucliffe a white dragon slayer. This is Rogue a shadow dragon slayer and this is Lector and Frosch."

"Sting and Rogue are third generation dragon slayers. The twin dragon slayers of Sabertooth." Said Lector.

"Yeah their the bestest ever." Frosh added.

"Talking cats...that's something you don't see everyday."

"But Fro is a frog." Said the green cat in the frog costume.

"Oh yes of course, how stupid of me. It was pleasant meeting you all but I have to go now." Ruby said turning around to leave.

"Will you not explain to us why you are covered in so much blood?" Rogue asked as Ruby turned around and gave him a death glare. Her gaze was terrifying and Froch and Lector clung to their masters for comfort.

"That is really none of your business but if you lot want to live then you have to leave now. There is a very powerful creature roaming these woods currently and if it finds you it will kill you."

"We can fight you know? It can't be that strong." Said Sting getting angry that this girl thought he was weak.

"I don't doubt the fact that you can fight but the magic you wield will have no effect on this thing."

"And yours does?"

"Yes of course it does. The monster is a phoenix after all. It take a phoenix slayer to kill one of these things. If you try to kill it it will simply reincarnate itself."

"What's a phoenix slayer?" Sting asked.

"I would have thought that was obvious. It's a type of slayer very similar to dragon slayer magic but it is much more ancient. I am a scarlet phoenix slayer, the blood you see on me is a downside to my magic. I use blood to fight, blood is my element."

"Blood? That's scary." Said Lector shaking slightly.

"Fro thinks so too."

"The phoenix running around these woods is a water phoenix and a powerful one at that. So go now before he recovers from my last attack."

"But your injured right? We can't just leave you to fight that thing in the state your in." Rogue said getting him another glare from Ruby.

"Geez, dragon slayers you really don't understand when someone is trying to save your life. Always stubborn and big headed. I know first hand that a dragon slayer is no match against a phoenix, you will be no help to me so just leave before he finds us." The five heard a loud roar close by. Ruby sighed and rolled her eyes. "Great it's already found us. Looks like you guys lost your chance to run. What ever you do don't engage it, don't die and stay the hell out of my way..."
