Bus Songs

Sapphire stifled a yawn, once again daydreaming while staring through a glass panel (a nasty habit) when she really ought to be paying attention. She hugged her bag in the empty seat to her left, unaware of the boys practically screaming a bus song at the very back of the bus (the best seats, of course, she hasn't sat there since she played cricket - in year two) Sapphire had wondered if their lungs ever tired. Luna would have asked them herself, but Sapphire definitely didn't have the courage.
Luna.
That name pierced Sapphire's chest like the 'safe' craft knives students use in science. The story? Well, Luna had decided that Sapphire wasn't her friend anymore. She didn't exactly say 'I'm not your friend anymore' but Sapphire was sure that's what she meant. Why else would she want to sit with the 'silly popular kids'?  Sapphire heaved a deep breath, don't think about her, don't think about her,  The bus ride to camp was a long one.
