- Gothic Prime - 4:30 PM -

Arlene Luca peered into the door of (Y/N)'s apartment, through the hole she made when she flew into it earlier. Since the sun's rays were still somewhat peering through the cloudy skies of the city, she had time to kill before the sun fully hides itself. Opening the door, she let herself in. Gazing at the various trinkets and objects that (Y/N) had in his apartment, she allowed herself to inspect them. Curiously rummaging through his living space, she heard something using her vampiric senses. She had stepped onto a hollow part of the floor.

She knelt down to check it out, prying open the floorboards and seeing (Y/N)'s multitudes of money. His stacks of one hundred dollar bills given to him for his jobs. She picked some out and inspected them, they were all fresh with the exception of a few select ones. She looked at the green paper with a look of disdain, much more for the ugly looking old man in at the centre of it all.

Arlene: "He kills to survive... And he said he wasn't like us..."

She carelessly tossed the stack of bills aside as she continued her way through his apartment. Inspecting various furniture and items all over the place, it was almost as if she was making herself at home.

Arlene sat down on (Y/N)'s bed, retrieving a few books from his nightstand. Some were detective novels which he would spend his spare weekends reading, but there were others that caught her eye. Weaknesses of the Human Body, Vampirism: All you need to know, The Science Behind Bloody Murder.

She opened the covers of the second one to scroll through, it talked about the supposed origins of Vampires. The way that they spread their 'disease' and most importantly, how to kill them. She had no way of knowing how long he's had this, but nevertheless (Y/N) had been reading up on her kind.

Arlene placed the books down and made sure to draw the curtains closed. Checking the nearby digital alarm, it read 4:32 PM. It was just then that her father's voice boomed from within her head with an aura of authority. He was telepathically communicating with her.

Vlad: "You were supposed to kill him, not get him to turn..."

She sighed. Sitting back down on (Y/N)'s bed.

Arlene: "I know potential when I see it, father. (L/N) is a great opportunity for the House of Luca."

Vlad: "In your drive for your own ambitions, you let him get away. Why couldn't you just done what I have specifically ordered you to do?"

Arlene: "I will not fail you ever again, but I also object to killing him. (Y/N) isn't just another disposable human-"

Vlad: "You overstep your boundaries, daughter!"

She recoiled as he yelled. Rarely did he ever yell, even less so towards her.

Arlene: "I-I apologize... The next time I see him, he will not escape me. And he will not survive me."

She quickly and almost mechanically proclaimed. She could hear her father's disbelieving tone seep through his words.

Vlad: "I already have dwindling patience and confidence in you as is... Once night falls, the people I've tasked will not hesitate to kill him. And I mean kill him, not turn him... I regret my harsh tone back there already, but I cannot allow this family to be compromised. For now, stay where you are until the sun sets. Then, you can join the vampires I have already sent out, I trust you will hold true to your words."

Arlene: "Of course... As you wish, father."

She said, which then left herself in complete silence. Her father had brought his foot down and dug in. Nevertheless, she still felt herself contrary to his goals. Preferring to turn the skilled hitman instead of wasting his potential, and deep down she wanted to know what his blood tasted like. But for now, she was content with the blood of (Y/N)'s neighbours as substitute for his. For now.

- Moonlight Casino - 5:27 PM -

After finding his car and heading into a few stores along the way, (Y/N) made sure to nab a few items of interest for his coming confrontation. Along with his anti-Vampiric ammunition, he retrieved UV lamps and various types of scented candles. The latter of which he would use to mask his scent from Vlad's vampiric soldiers.

Exiting his car, pistol in hand. He confidently strode towards the entrance to the casino, the very casino he had wasted a good portion of his life in that he would never get back. The casino that he had been in when Luca's daughter called out to him like a siren to a foolhardy sailor. Those stories never ended well for the humans, but this time... the sailor was well-equipped and ready. Ready to fight to the death for his very life, and kill off the siren if need be.

He entered through the doors, gunning down the two vampire guards flanking the building. The UV-infused ammunition burned their insides with a searing purple-ish hue. The undead monsters writhed in pain as they roared out in agony, before eventually their bodies disintegrated into ashes. (Y/N) smirked, these rounds didn't even have to hit a vital area of the body for a solid kill. The sudden burst of noise surprised the casino goers, who all looked up from their tables. Cards in hand and chips ready for betting, (Y/N) looked around at all of the patrons, most were confused as to what was going on.

(Y/N): "Chip time's over you addicts."

He said, threateningly pointing his pistol towards everyone in the casino. Most of the patrons cut their losses, immediately got up and left. Most except one, a woman with an ample amount of chips up for bidding. Her opponent left too. (Y/N) slowly approached as he brought his pistol into one of his pockets as well as dropping his bag of guns in the lobby. Approaching her unarmed.

(Y/N): "You gonna leave?"

He asked.

Woman: "No."

She sternly replied, her gaze not on (Y/N) but rather on her hard won casino chips.

(Y/N): "Don't wanna lose a couple of hours worth, don't yah?"

Woman: "You know where I can redeem these?"

She asked, placing her cigarette into an ash tray.

(Y/N): "There's some money in the back, a room behind the bar. They keep allocated money there, collect it every week."

Woman: "That they do, thank you very much."

She thanked him with a little smirk, departing the table to retrieve the money. Even if she was dishonest and took more than what she had earned during her session, (Y/N) couldn't care less. Once she departed with handfuls of money in her bag, (Y/N) went back outside, past the eviscerated corpses of his vampiric foes, retrieving the supplies from his car and bringing them into the casino. Firmly locking the front doors behind him.

Bart: "What are you doing here, (Y/N)? Why has everyone gone?"

Came a voice, which he recognized as Bart the Bartender.

(Y/N): "You should leave too, Bart. Things'll get ugly."

He advised, Bart just headed towards the countertop.

Bart: "If I may, I'd like to stay."

(Y/N): "Are you that eager to die, Bart?"

He asked, straightening his suit as he sat at one of the many stools.

Bart: "Let me guess..."

He said, (Y/N) just smirked. He and Bart have been through this many times before.

(Y/N): "You guessed right."

Bart turned back towards the various shelves behind his countertop, grabbing (Y/N)'s favourite drink. Yanking the cork out and pouring that silky red contents into a glass. Giving it to (Y/N), who took it and took a sip out of it. Before taking one out for himself and doing the same, he sipped a bit of the wine and smacked his lips in delight.

Bart: "I'm beginning to see why you like cherry."

He smirked, taking in the rest of the drink.

(Y/N): "My tab?"

He offered, Bart just chuckled as he shook his head.

Bart: "Don't you worry Mr. (L/N). I'll bill it to Mr. Luca."

Bart assured, (Y/N) laughed a little. The two drank together for a few minutes, silently listening to the music playing over the casino's speakers. (Y/N) then looked up at all the speakers dotting the supporting columns.

(Y/N): "Hey, Bart. You know where the sound room is?"

Bart: "How should I know? I'm the bartender."

(Y/N): "Well, I was thinking I could crank the volume up. It would definitely help me, vampires have enhanced hearing so I hope that helps in my regard."

Bart: "Going up against the House? Well... it was obvious when you gunned down those bloodsuckers guarding the front door."

(Y/N) nodded.

(Y/N): "As I said before, you're gonna want to leave."

He said, finishing up the last of his cherry wine.

Bart: "In that case, the least I can do is help. But that could probably be categorized as assisted suicide."

He joked. (Y/N) wasn't a fool. Going up against dozens of angry, hungry vampires isn't the best matchup. So, he would turn the casino grounds into his own little playground for them.

(Y/N): "Well... It'd definitely be appreciated. First off, we can get these UV lamps set up on those supporting columns. After that, the scented candles. They'll mask their sense of smell."

(Y/N) said, Bart seemed quite interested in his plans. His way of counteracting a Vampire's superiority in almost every way.

Bart: "Well then... let's get to work shall we?"
