The mission Vlad Luca had given was simple, three days later would be this month's full moon. A party would be held commemorating the full moon the day before. Which was where as well as when (Y/N) would strike. But for now he had plenty of time to kill. Now that he was a part of The House of Luca, he was no longer obliged to work at Moonlight.
Storing his weapons in a new car which he bought, he drove it into the parking lot of the casino he previously worked for.
(Y/N) brought along his all-black three piece suit, without need of an I.D he was let into the casino. Of course he couldn't enter looking like he was just some common thug. Unlike last night it was a pretty busy session at the casino. The place was loaded, probably because it was a Friday evening.
He proudly strode past his former employees, head held high. Although he was as of now working with freaks, he for once felt like it was the old days once more. Bart was once more behind the counter, serving various customers with skillful ability.
(Y/N): "Bart."
Bart: "Ah, why if it isn't (Y/N) (L/N)."
He greeted, (Y/N) sat himself at the counter and handed Bart some dollars.
(Y/N): "Not such a slow night tonight, Isn't it?"
Bart: "No, sir it isn't. In my opinion it's the busiest this place has ever been."
(Y/N): "Thank god I got out of this job when I did."
He laughed a little, Bart meanwhile grabbed (Y/N)'s favourite drink.
Bart: "Say, what happened with you and the Luca's daughter? I was a bit worried that when she brought you out that they were going to completely drain you and leave you out to dry."
(Y/N) just chuckled and shrugged.
(Y/N): "Perhaps I counted my lucky stars that day. To the contrary, they gave me a pay raise and a promotion."
Bart: "Not to offend, but I never knew the Luca family allowed humans into their ranks."
(Y/N): "Well, neither did I until now."
(Y/N) replied.
Bart: "Anyways. What'd they promote you to?"
He asked, whilst pouring (Y/N)'s favorite wine into a glass. He generally preferred to keep his past and now present life as a hitman secret from those he acquainted himself with.
(Y/N): "Hard to say, I prefer to keep it to myself. They also recommended that I do. It's best for the both of us."
Patron: "You kiddin' me? You hooked up with them bloodsuckers? Ha ha! Now that's a tale to tell."
A random customer loudly proclaimed, sitting himself right beside (Y/N).
(Y/N): "I should recommend you to them, serves you right butting into a conversation."
The man just laughed heartily. He looked to the bartender, who he expected to laugh along with him.
(Y/N): "You're not funny pal. Accept that."
Patron: "My lord. You are dull. You see this man bartender, this dude is dull. Ha! You sure are an entertaining fellow."
(Y/N): "You gonna step away? Or are you just going to stand there chortling like a mindless dumbass?"
Patron: "And why should I? I have the right to sit here."
He aggressively asserted, not backing down. Rather foolishly.
(Y/N): "Because I say so."
He just burst out laughing, creating a huge scene out of nothing.
Patron: "Why, I see no set of fangs on you. And you claim so hard to be an associate of the Luca's."
(Y/N) just sighed, already tired of this man's uptight tone.
(Y/N): "I don't think it's nice you're laughing."
Patron: "I don't know about that. What I do know is that I'm a pretty nice guy."
(Y/N): "Yeah, of course."
He sarcastically stated.
Patron: "What's this? Cherry Wine? Gosh, you even drink like them."
(Y/N) had enough at that. All of this prick's incestuous pestering was annoying enough, but to compare him to those monsters... (Y/N) almost instantaneously saw nothing but red.
Quickly grabbing the bottle from the man, he smashed it hard against his face. Glass shattered all over the place, spilling all over the floor and onto (Y/N)'s face. The annoying patron's head recoiled into the countertop's edges, knocking his annoying self out cold. For a moment, (Y/N) almost instinctively jabbed the sharp glass into his neck. But restrained himself from doing so. After all that, (Y/N) grabbed a napkin to wipe the red off of his face. Whether it was wine or the patron's own blood, he didn't know or care. Sitting back at the counter, completely ignoring the man who was now knocked out on the floor.
Most of the casino's gamblers ignored it, knowing that if any attention was directed away from their matches. Their opponents would have the chance to pull some sort of trickery.
Taking another sip out of his glass, security guards stepped in to clear his body out of the lobby. Bart just stared at the ordeal, sticking to cleaning a glass with a rag. None of them knew what would happen to the disruptive customer, but they knew enough that they wouldn't be punished for punishing the instigator.
Eventually, (Y/N) finished his entire glass. The commotion in the casino was a bit too loud for his liking, so he opted to head out to one of the balconies. Overlooking a large portion of the city, it was early in the night. Which meant that there were two more nights before this month's full moon. Meaning that Fenrir Den's monthly party was just around the corner. (Y/N) leaned against the railings as he overlooked the city. A city that had mostly went silent during the nighttime.
Gothic Prime had been his home for quite some time, it was all that he'd known throughout his life.
Arlene: "I too like watching the city at night."
Again, alike to other vampires Arlene Luca had the knack of appearing out of nowhere. Especially from behind, something (Y/N) was justifiably not comfortable with. Considering his jugular's vulnerability in a situation like that.
(Y/N): "Don't do that."
Arlene: "Do what?"
(Y/N): "Appearing behind me like that, it's creepy."
He blatantly brushed her off, she walked up to him and leant against the railing as well. Taking the opportunity to gaze at the city with him.
Arlene: "Well, I'm sorry you can't hear me, I've heard us vampires are like air. Silent as the night."
(Y/N): "Makes it easier to catch us regular people off guard doesn't it?"
He asked. Arlene laughed a little, particularly at his use of 'regular'.
Arlene: "To an extent."
She said, turning her head to look at (Y/N). He was still directing his gaze away from her. She simply sighed and stared at him.
Arlene: "You seem to hate my kind with kind with a passion, however I've noticed that you aren't really that different from us."
(Y/N): "Surely you must've seen what happened to the last person that said something like that."
(Y/N) threatened. Arlene just giggled.
Arlene: "I've seen, and heard. Nevertheless, I'm merely making a suggestion."
(Y/N): "Suggest more and see what happens."
Arlene: "Hmm, nothing..."
She smiled.
(Y/N): "What?"
Arlene: "Nothing. You won't do anything because you can't do anything."
(Y/N) just snickered a little, finally giving Arlene his full attention.
(Y/N): "Okay then, fine. I'll give you a chance to talk."
Arlene: "I see it in your eyes, you've abandoned your life once. But it's still there. The eyes of a hunter, of a killer... "
Arlene's entrancing eyes weren't enough to vex (Y/N), he had just enough willpower to keep himself from drowning and suffocating himself in her bewitching words.
(Y/N): "What if it's just the eyes of a person who just violently smashed a man's head in with a wine bottle? I might just be a tad crazy."
Arlene: "That was just you, crazy to kill. I might even say you love it."
(Y/N) just scoffed at that.
(Y/N): "Hardly, it was just a way to get paid. This impending job with the hounds isn't much different. I'll just have to shoot them more."
Arlene: "That's exactly what I'm talking about. You're numb to killing, what happens to love over time? Love becomes numb, almost senseless... Take it from the immortal. Your love for killing has evolved into the late stages. You're just denying yourself at this point."
(Y/N): "Maybe I'll deny it a bit more. I'm guessing you love killing, then? Since what you're attempting to compare me to is yourself?"
He inquired. She just shrugged at him.
Arlene: "I might get some thrill out of it... but in the end. Food is what you need to live, humans are our food."
(Y/N): "A simple sandwich doesn't have a life it wants to keep."
(Y/N) shot back.
Arlene: "Ah, your cynicism and ruthlessness.... You'd make a fantastic vampire..."
(Y/N): "Well then. Your father wouldn't like it if you cause his plan to go awry."
(Y/N) suggested. In an ironic twist, Vlad Luca's own ambitions impaired his daughter's. Arlene just smiled, exposing her vampiric fangs at (Y/N). Giggling as she licked them gently with her own tongue.
Arlene: "Be careful, daughters tend to go against their fathers."
(Y/N): "In your case, I'll take my chances."
He said, heading back inside Moonlight. Leaving Arlene out in the night, she retracted her fangs and stared suggestively at (Y/N) as he closed the balcony doors on her.
Arlene: "Ahh, humans... It'll be more satisfying if he asks me to turn him."
She silently thought to herself, taking in what little moonlight could pass through the cloudy night skies. Alone and isolated while overlooking the city.
