⚣twenty six
it was two thirty in the morning and yet the black haired boy laid on his bed staring up at the ceiling completely consumed in his thoughts.
he loved yoongi, but he wasn't going to keep those feelings around anymore.
even if it hurt, he was going to go back to the person he knew he was to his long time crush- a friend.
not just an acquaintance, but also not anything above that.
just a childhood friend whom he was at times close to, and at times a little too strict with.
taehyung was different in that sense.
they were only acquaintances, but they were so much more than just that.
they hadn't known each other for too long, just about seven or eight weeks, but they were together so much it felt like they had known each other for years.
it was odd how much more he felt he knew about the boy he just met compared to the person he had known all his life.
he didn't mind taehyung's secrets, everyone had them, he wasn't one to judge.
in all, everything felt so different to him.
he didn't really even know the person he was becoming; the person taehyung was making him, but he didn't think of it as a bad thing.
the red haired boy who he thought was just using him -which at first he was- healed and helped him in a way no one had ever even tried to do before and all he could do was be thankful for that.
some light vibrations from the edge of his bed had managed to get the restless boy's attention.
"hello?" he picked up his phone, not looking at the caller id.
"you never texted, princess, i was worried."
jimin snuggled up to his comforter, the deep, low voice already soothing him from his overthinking.
"i'm sorry, i forgot. did you stay up waiting this whole time?"
"it's alright, baby. i was just calling to see if you already fell asleep or if something happened with yoongi."
"no, everything's fine."
the only light source was the occasional car lights that came shining into his room after being reflected off one of the glass shop windows in the side street of his apartment building.
it was almost silent, not even the crickets were calling one another, so the voice on the other line made him feel like he was finally awake again after drifting in his own little world all by himself for so long.
"then why are you up?"
"just thinking."
"about?"
jimin could hear the other boy shift around as if he had just laid down in his own bed. "about you."
"me?" taehyung asked surprised. "why?"
the small hand traced little patterns on the pillow case beside him, wishing the empty place could be taken up by the younger male instead.
"i like you."
although it was mostly his sleep deprivation spilling out what was on his mind, but it was still the truth.
taehyung bit back a smile. "yeah?"
"yeah."
the two were silent for a minute- not awkward silence, but rather comforting.
they were listening to each other's breathing and imagining the other next to them.
they thought about things that would happen or that they would do if they had the pleasure of being in one another's company at the moment.
it was mostly stupid little cute scenarios they were making up in their heads, but neither needed to confess such a thing.
"i didn't answer you when you told me how you felt."
the red haired male ran a hand through his hair. "it's okay princess, i'll wait however long you need."
"falling in love with someone like you doesn't take that much time, taehyung. it feels like a natural instinct."
the once cold man closed his eyes, hoping in his mind that this wasn't some kind of dream.
he mentally prayed that if it was, he would never wake up.
"what are you trying to get at, jimin?"
"i want to try being in a relationship with you."
