jimin bit down on his lip, dragging it with his teeth as he stared ahead at seemingly nothing with his suitcase handle loosely placed in his hand.

today was finally the day they were meeting his parents, as well as his birthday and he managed to keep everyone from revealing the big event to taehyung, despite how obvious it was.

of course jimin planned on telling his boyfriend that it was his birthday today, but he just wanted to focus on how happy he was to finally visit his parents and allow them to meet the new love of his life.

"you ready, angel?" taehyung grabbed his free hand, snapping jimin out of his daze.

a grin took over the smaller's face as he couldn't help but feel the excitement grow now that the train had finally approached the station and him and taehyung were about to board.

"i am, are you?" he asked back, hoping the younger was still interested in meeting his family.

"of course i am," taehyung smiled back. "i'm happy i get the chance to thank your parents for bringing such an amazing person into the world."

with their hands still locked tightly together, they got onto the train, their luggage with them as well.

with excitement bubbling up in his chest, jimin knocked on the front door of a very pleasant looking big household which was adorned and complimented by a large flower filled yard.

within moments footsteps approached the door and it was pulled open to reveal an older, but handsome man wearing a black apron around his waist as if he had just been grilling.

jimin smiled, instantly letting go of his suitcase and throwing himself at him. "dad!"

the older man caught his son, hugging him back just as strongly. "jimin, i'm so glad you're here!"

they both pulled away, the man placing his hands on his son's shoulders and looking down at him happily.

"you're here right on time, i just finished making the food and your mother is adding on the finishing touches of your cake."

right after the man had finished talking, he finally noticed the red haired man standing beside his son.

"oh, whose this?" jimin's father asked, not aware jimin was bringing a friend with him.

taehyung took this as his cue to join in the conversation and introduce himself. "hello mr park, i'm kim taehyung."

jimin's father caught on to the way his son looked back over at the boy lovingly, a little too affectionate of a gaze you would normally send an acquaintance.

instantly, mr park knew what was happening and who the red haired male was to his son.

"it's great to meet you," the man greeted him with a kind smile. "why don't you boys come in? i think my wife would absolutely love to meet you taehyung."

jimin blushed at the fact that his father picked up on their relationship instantly.

he was about to reach for his suitcase, but taehyung had already grabbed it for him, carrying it in since mr park was holding the door open for him.

taehyung walked ahead, taking a moment to place the luggage neatly near the door so it would be out of the way until he knew what to do with it.

jimin's father closed the door, placing a hand on his son's back. "i'm really glad you brought taehyung to meet us."

upon hearing the door close, mrs park had come from the direction of the kitchen where she had just finished decorating the cake, a light blue apron wrapped around her waist as well.

she momentarily froze upon seeing the tall redhead in her home, a huge grin coming to her face as she quickly went up to him, introducing herself.

"i am too." jimin watched the two introduce themselves and chat away as if they weren't strangers meeting for the first time.

jimin's father clapped, getting his wife's attention since she was still going on to taehyung about how charming he looked and asking questions about how her son seemed to be adjusting to living in a completely new place.

"why don't you get them seated at the table honey, i'll go bring the cake for you." his wife nodded along, patting taehyung arm and giving her son a hug before guiding them to the dining area.

the couple sat down at the table filled with many different foods and side dishes.

jimin waited patiently for his parents and brother to accompany them as well, excited to properly introduce the most important people in his life, to the boy he now considered the love of his life.
