the apprehensive man ran his hands through his hair, tugging at the ends.
on the wall an old styled clock ticked repeatedly across the roman numerals, counting down the time he had left until taehyung got there.
he was sat down at the bar, it was that time of the month where although they were off for a few more days, they still all celebrated.
"chill out, you look like you're about to propose." yoongi laughed, wrapping an arm around jimin's shoulder.
he gave a trepidatious smile to the older, fidgeting with his hands to keep himself from getting up and pacing.
"i'm just nervous. what if he says he doesn't want to meet them?"
"he won't." namjoon reassured, trying to pick out a drink for both himself and his own boyfriend.
jungkook and seokjin were chatting away with hoseok about some show they were all watching, and namjoon and yoongi were discussing which alcohol he should get, leaving jimin all by himself rethinking over if he should even ask taehyung or not.
the door chimed, making him jolt upright, sitting up straighter than he had in a long time ever since his graduation.
"did i scare you?" taehyung asked with a laugh, temporarily easing the older's mind.
"a little." jimin smiled, but quickly dropped it as the younger took a seat, facing him as if he was all ready to have an important conversation.
they were quiet for a moment, silently admiring one another before they both opened their mouths, speaking at the same time. "so-"
"you can go first." taehyung motioned to jimin.
he nodded, gathering up his courage to ask the question that scared him to death, but probably wasn't a big deal to anyone else. "do you want to meet my parents? i mean you don't have to of course, and if you don't want to i'd completely understand, like i don't even know why i even asked."
the red haired male stared at him fondly, listening to him ramble on and on out of his nervousness.
"jimin," he laughed, stopping the rant. "of course i want to meet your parents."
the ravenette let out a sigh of relief, glad that all of his stress could now go away.
"can i ask you something too? or rather, give you something?" the other boy questioned, hand already reaching into his jacket pocket.
"of course, but you don't need to give me anything."
"close your eyes." taehyung directed, waiting for the older to shut them before pulling out a small box.
he opened it as quietly as he could to prevent jimin from hearing what it was, and pulled out one of the things inside, sliding it onto his finger.
"okay, open them."
jimin's eyes fluttered open, his eyes darting to a silver ring encrusted with a little hallow heart in the center.
his mouth dropped open a little bit, not really knowing how to respond. "what's this for?"
"it's a promise ring. i really love you, but it's probably too early to propose so i figured this would be the best way to show you that i really want us to stay together for a long time in the future. i hope you want it?" taehyung asked questioningly, hoping that he would also like the symbolism of the ring.
"of course!" jimin spoke a little too loudly, making hoseok jokingly act as if he was going to kick him for interrupting them.
taehyung slipped on his own matching ring, a big smile on his lips. "i'm glad."
