Dollhouse by @arieeewrites

The story "Dollhouse" opens up to many tropes, such as enemies to lovers, brothers' enemies, fake dating, forbidden romance, etc. Raina Adani, the less interesting middle child, drops herself into the hands of her brother's enemy- the wild party lover, August Cruz. Her intentions were simple: she just wants to stir chaos in her "picture perfect" family. What would actually happen if her brother, Ayaan Adani, the role model of the family finds out the forbidden affair of his sister?

The cover page showcases a couple seated in a public place. The girl, seated on the boy's lap is showing affection to him with kisses. On contrary to the girl's affection, the boy seems rather board and uninterested with the girl. This could symbolise the relationship between Raina and August. The hot pink neon "Dollhouse" symbolises the fun and frivolousness of the relationship between Raina and August along with the "picture perfect" nature of her family. The 80's fashioned couple in the cover page embody the extravagance and the individuality of the two main characters in arieeewrites's book.

The cover page significantly highlights only few aspects of the story. Although the main attribute of the story is portrayed in the cover page, the cover page could hold more factors by portraying a better image whilst using an appropriate structure.

The title should be captivating and uncommon to readers so that they could feel a difference about the plot from the story just from the title. arieeewrite has successfully chosen a title which is not only attracting but also symbolic to the story.

"Dollhouse" symbolises the picture perfect nature of the Adani family. In reality, they were just painted plastic; they were fake. Their words and actions don't match up which brings out the true nature of the "Dollhouse."

On the other hand, the Cruz family also brings out the theory of the doll house. To the audience, "the Cruz family appeared happy", but inside, they were hiding something- "a secret they weren't willing to share." They were not as real as they pretended to be and this factor too can be explored through the topic "Dollhouse." Overall, wonderful choice. I applaud.

The summary should give a description of the of the story whilst keeping a decent flow to gain the attraction of readers. The summary of the book, "Dollhouse" gives a good description of the story but it lacks a neat flow a summary needs.

The content of the summary could be reduced a tad bit as it reveals a bit too much about the plot. Other than that, I could give this summary a 7/10.

The first paragraph itself gives a perfect description of the scene and a brilliant insight about the current situation of the main character Raina Adani. It gives out many important details about Raina and her family, the status her elder brother Ayaan and the competition with her own twin sister, Raya. The chapter is able to make the readers feel the emotions and pressure placed on Raina's shoulders.

It was a good decision to also introduce the other important character, August into the story within the first chapter. The banter between him and Raina shows the friendly and also the passive aggressive nature they have which gives an amazing begin for the story. Overall, the first chapter is spot on.

The prologue was banging. A bit steamy, but a great way to make readers stay and look forward to the story. The capitalized paragraphs should be double checked; I noticed a part of the third person was also capitalized.

The plot describes about a middle child, Raina who has to live in the shadow of her social sister and goal oriented brother, Ayaan. His childhood friend August has become his biggest rival due to unknown reasons. The plot develops as Raina makes the move to find the disastrous reason which broke this brotherly friendship whilst Raina making a move towards August just "to annoy her parents and her brother."

On the other hand, August, the youngest in his family is a character filled with guilt due to an unknown "childhood incident." All these characters are entwined in many different ways which makes the plot ever so interesting.

Much of the character development could be seen as only three parts of the story are released yet. But within these three chapters, a sufficient amount of backstory is given to the readers. There is no thing as "too much backstory" as the backstory portrays what type of a character they are. A good backstory makes the readers understand why and how a character think and work in a certain way. And through the first few chapters of "Dollhouse", the author has done a great job in portraying a good image in the minds of her readers.

The story pace is acceptable. The situations are clearly explained and emotions are put out well. The chapters are of good length and quite satisfying to read. Overall, 8/10 for story pace.

This story uses numerous of unique words and creative phrases. To me, this shows the quality of the story. It has less repetition and good flow. The author has successfully used the proper words to create the perfect imagery in the minds of the readers. Other literary aspects such as personification, metaphors and cliff hangers can be spotted in the story like chocolate chips in a chocolate cookie- amazing stuff! Good job arieeewrites!

I'm really sorry if I offended you in anyway, but I reviewed and critiqued with the best intentions. I hope these tips will be valuable and I hope this review would do justice to your book. So far this book is really good and I'm eagerly waiting for new chapters. Keep up the amazing work!
