Chapter Two: Exam
Toshinori was torturing him.
He had to clean Dagobah beach in 8 months, then two months for special training, depending on the circumstances.
Izuku, just to spite his mentor, cleaned the beach in 7 months. He didn't even use his quirk.
Toshinori stared over the waves.
Izuku walked up behind him.
"Hey Toshi." He said.
"Hey Izuku." Was his reply.
"Well done my boy, you did it much faster than I had anticipated! Now we get 3 extra months for.. well, you'll see." He said.
They stood admiring the view a few more minutes, until Toshinori turned to his protege.
"Izuku. I would like to speak with you. It's about my quirk."
Izuku's attention was now solely on his mentor.
"You see, my quirk is unique in that it can be passed on from person to person. I am the eighth wielder of this power, and I would like you to become the ninth. It is called One For All, and over time it stockpiles energy. It also upgrades the quirk of the current wielder, but I'm not sure how your's would work. Do you accept?" He said.
Izuku stared at him for a couple of minutes.
"You're completely serious about this." He said.
Toshinori nodded. "I know it's far fetched-"
"I've heard of much weirder stuff, don't worry Toshi. If you really think I'm deserving of such a power.. then I accept. I'll do my best to do good with it. I'll make you proud." He said.
Toshinori grinned.
"I was hoping you'd accept." Toshi plucked a single hair from his head.
"Eat this."
Izuku scowled at the man, then blinked the hair into his stomach.
The effect was instantaneous.
"W-whoah..." Izuku stared at his fist.
His body felt.. good. He felt strong. Powerful. Like he could take on a hundred villains with ease.
"Izuku, you won't be able to handle the full power of one for all right off the bat, you need to bulk up a little and let your body get used to the new energy coursing through it. Try and punch me at a low percentage." All Might said, now in his muscular form.
Izuku threw a punch, shouting "5 percent!"
Green sparks exploded out of the teen, the tell for his new power. All Might caught it, putting 5 Percent into his own arm.
"10 percent!" Izuku shouted.
He stopped when he got to 50, then worked his way up to 53 percent before his arm got really sore.
"Incredible Izuku, you can use 50 percent right off the bat! Now you just need to practice regulating it to 50 on instinct, then incorporate it into your fighting style alongside blink."
Izuku grinned at his mentor.
"Can we spar? Right now? I want to get a better feel of it against an opponent right off the bat."
All Might nodded thoughtfully.
"Using it on me to test or train is a good idea, as I can handle it if you go overboard. Very well. Come at me my boy!"
The two rushed forwards, clashing fists at 50 percent. Izuku struggled to hold it there at first, One for All was like a wild animal, struggling to break free and use everything in his punches.
He fluctuated between 50, 51 and 49, but was able to keep it steady until it was time to go home.
"Well done Izuku, I'm impressed you picked it up so quickly. I suppose all that time using trial and error to figure out how to control blink came in handy."
Izuku laughed, taking Toshi's arm.
"Hey mum, were back!" He called, opening the door.
"Hello Izuku, Toshinori, dinner is almost ready. Did you have fun training today? I went by the beach yesterday, you've done a good job. I assume it's finished now, there wasn't much left by the look of the beach." Inko said, bustling about the kitchen.
Toshinori nodded, settling himself down at the table.
"Izuku did well, he cleaned it faster than I thought he would, and now we have 3 months to do some quirk training."
Inko beamed at her son, setting a large casserole dish on the table.
"Well done Izuku, I'm proud of you. You're going to be an amazing hero! Now, I made beef casserole tonight to celebrate. Toshinori, make sure you eat your vegetables. I don't care that you're the symbol of peace, you can't just eat beef and chicken all the time!"
Izuku chortled at Toshi, who had the expression of a naughty schoolboy.
"And Izuku, I know you want to eat healthily, but you need a balanced diet for the best results, so you eat more beef tonight please."
"Yes mum/Inko." They said in unison.

They spent the next few weeks practicing with blink and One for All in combat, which by the end of the 3rd month, he had gotten impressively good at.
The beach had become a popular spot, so the duo had to find somewhere else to train.
They blinked into a wide plain, somewhere in North America.
"Wow. That's a lot of open space." Izuku said.
"See my boy? I told you this would be the perfect spot to spar! Now, come at me!" All Might said, buffing up.
Izuku blinked forwards, landing a 55 percent punch to All Might's arm. He blinked behind the hero and kicked the back of his knees with a 55 percent kick.
Izuku blinked above the hero and delivered a 55 percent punch to the Hero's face, as he looked up in an attempt to find and counter his attack.
All Might fell back onto his butt, quickly putting his hands up in surrender when Izuku blinked right in front of him, his fist raised and charged with green electricity.
"I... Won?" Izuku asked dumbfounded.
All Might laughed, patting his protoge's shoulder.
"They do say the student surpasses the master, but holy crap kid it took you 10 months!" Toshinori exclaimed, shrinking down.
Izuku couldn't really speak. He'd just beaten the world's symbol of peace single handedly in about 10 seconds.
"You almost broke my nose!" Toshinori continued, poking delicately at his now bright red nose. "That really hurt!"
Izuku laughed, patting Toshi's shoulder and transporting them to his apartment.
"I've got to get ready for the exam, do you want a lift to the school?" Izuku asked.
Toshi nodded, heading to his room.
"I've got to change into that God awful suit, I'll be ready in a few minutes." He said.
Izuku gave him a thumbs up, before blinking away.

Izuku waved to Toshi as he left down a different corridor. They were quite early because Toshinori needed to get his teacher stuff sorted out.
"I'll be watching eagerly!" He called to the greenette.
"I'll make you proud Toshi!" He said.
Izuku stepped into the auditorium, and was surprised to see one other person already there. (Y'all get 3 guesses. I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with ass stick.)
"Ah, hello! I'm glad to see someone else is as punctual and enthusiastic as I am!" The bespectacled boy said.
Izuku walked down to the teen, taking the seat next to him.
"A family friend works at UA, so I came with them early. I am very excited to be here though." Izuku smiled.
The boy raised his hand stiffly, like he was unsure how a human moved.
"My name is Iida Tenya, from Somei private academy! It is nice to meet you!" Iida said.
Izuku shook his hand.
"I'm Izuku Midoriya, from Aldera high school, it's nice to meet you too."
By now, a couple of other examinees had taken seats around the auditorium, although not many.
"May I ask what your quirk is? Sorry, it's my hobby, analyzing quirks. I like to figure out how they work, or how to improve them." Izuku said.
Iida nodded.
"Certain ally Midoriya. My quirk is engine, and as you can see-" he raised his trouser leg to show large exhausts in the back of his legs. "-its quite obvious what it does."
Izuku nodded, scribbling in his notebook he blinked from home.
"If it's an engine.. does it require fuel of some kind?" He asked.
Iida seemed impressed. "Indeed. I need to drink plenty of orange juice, otherwise they are not nearly as efficient as they could be. I'm impressed you deduced that much."
Izuku nodded "have you tried any other juices or drinks as fuel, or just orange juice?"
Iida shook his head.
"My quirk has been passed down for many generations in my family, they found that Apple juice works, just not as well. And if we mix apple and orange, then we stall completely, and get very ill. It's like mixing petrol and diesel in a car and trying to drive. It just won't work."
Izuku hummed thoughtfully.
"What about fizzy orange juice? Is that any different, or not really?" Izuku asked.
Iida paused.
"I'm.. not actually sure. I shall experiment in the future. Thank you, I never thought of that."
A brown haired girl sat down on Izuku's other side, smiling at them.
"Hi! I'm Ochako Uraraka! Man, this is so exciting huh? I wonder what the exam is going to be like..." Uraraka said.
"Izuku Midoriya."
"Tenya Iida."
"It's nice to meet you" the three said in unison.
Uraraka was the first to laugh, with Izuku following. Iida seemed to be trying to remain serious faced, but he cracked a smile.
"HEEEYYY EVERYBODAYY!!! CAN I GET A YEEAHHH??!!?" An obnoxiously loud voice yelled.
"YEAH!!" Izuku and Uraraka cheered, still giggling from earlier.
The hero grinned, then gestured back to the screen behind him.
"Welcome to UA's physical entrance exam! Now, your task is very simple. In groups, you will all be put into a model city, filled with robots! On your handouts, as you can see, there are one pointers, two pointers and three pointers! Use your quirks and wits to traverse the city, trashing these villains!"
Iida was staring at his handout with a frown, and was about to stand before Izuku tapped him.
"Wait just a sec, I think he's going to explain the fourth robot now. It seems to be a special case." He whispered.
"And of course there's the zero pointer! The final robot! It's worth absolutely no points!! It's more like an obstacle you should try to avoid! There's no merit to destroying it, but it is possible! Now, go break a leg everyone!"

Izuku stood at the back of the crowd in his regular clothes. He wasn't going to be doing a lot of running.
Iida and Uraraka were near the front of the group of examinees, looking around for him in confusion.
The massive doors opened, and Izuku waited.
"There are no countdowns in real battles! You have 10 minutes! Go go go!!!" Present Mic yelled.
Everyone but Izuku sprinted into the city.
Izuku walked in, deciding to give the other examinees a chance to gain some points.
He walked past Iida, who shouted out "47!"
Izuku clicked his neck and got to work.
"There are quite a few students doing well this year. There are those with powerful quirks, some with mobility based quirks, intelligence based quirks and so on. It seems everyone is trying their best, very good!" An animal commented.
A dark haired, bedraggled man was glaring at one screen in particular.
"What's wrong with you Aizawa?" The creature asked.
"That green haired kid hasn't gotten a single point. He's just strolled around watching the other examinees. It's disgraceful." Aizawa said.
"Uh, Nezu? There's a problem in area B..." A cowboy looking hero informed the animal.
"I was wondering when someone would catch on." Nezu said.
"Huh?" Most of the staff asked.
Nezu just smirked knowingly.
"Snipe, would you explain?" Nezu asked.
"T-there are 400 robots exactly in every area, we keep track of all of them, even if their main body is destroyed we can still monitor and find the tiny tracker in one of the arms or legs of the robot. It helps us tally up the final score of the examinees fairly, just a little final insurance." Snipe explained.
"H-however..." He said.
"However, a total of 30 3 pointers, 14 2 pointers and 36 one pointers have gone completely missing. That is a total of 154 points, the highest score we've ever seen since All Might himself, that has gone Kaput. We cannot find them anywhere in area B, miniature trackers or not." Nezu explained.
"S-so you're saying..." A barely dressed woman asked.
"Yes Kayama. Whoever did this is UA's highest scorer ever."
The teachers looked at the screens displaying Area B, searching for the examiner who had caught even Nezu's eye.
Nezu stared at the tablet in his hands.
Izuku Midoriya
Quirk: Blink.
Next to the profile of the examinee was a scan result for unidentified objects in orbit. He found 79 of the 80 missing robots.
________________________________
Izuku walked down the road. He hadn't been counting his points, just the number of robots he sent into orbit. He got to 79 when a rumble shook the city.
"That does not sound good." He said to himself, glancing around.
There were a couple of screams from the next road over, so Izuku ducked into the alleyway to see if he could help.
There were examinees running and screaming away from something out of his sight. Izuku stepped out onto the large main road and stared up at the gargantuan zero pointer.
"Isn't that a little extreme?"
Izuku looked around, blinking falling debris away from the fleeing examinees, making sure everybody got away.
He turned to go, satisfied with his work, when he heard a cry of pain.
*Uraraka?? Damn it, I didn't know she was there..*
Izuku ran to her side, examining at the rubble on top of her.
"M-Midoriya..? You have to go!! It's almost here!!" She said desperately.
"It's too dangerous to blink it all at once.. I don't know the state it's in underneath. I'm going to have to use it..." He muttered.
Izuku stood, charging One for All into his legs, leaping at the building to his right.
He hit the building, pushing off the side with One for All and throwing himself up at the zero pointer.
*I only have 55 percent... Aim for the chin, knock the head off instead of trying to crumple it head on..*
Izuku threw an uppercut at the underside of the zero pointer's head, knocking it clean off and pushing the remains of the behemoth backwards, away from the brunette.
Izuku freefell before blinking just over the ground, moving from the air to the ground in an instant.
The greenette trudged over to Uraraka.
"Hey, are you alright?" Izuku asked her.
Uraraka nodded, sitting against the rubble that she was trapped under earlier.
"I managed to get free, but I can't walk."
Izuku hummed in acknowledgement, gesturing to her.
"Here, I'll pick you up. You need to see a nurse or a doctor. The exam's over in a minute or two anyway." He said.
The brunette blushed and stuttered, but she accepted his help.
Izuku carried her to the entrance, where the youthful hero: Recovery Girl was just coming in.
"TIME'S UPPP!!!" Present Mic screamed.
Izuku barely contained his inner (and outer) fanboy.
*Oh my goddd, it's Recovery girl!! She's such an amazing hero!!*
"Uraraka thinks her leg is broken. She got trapped under some rubble." He said outwardly.
"Oh dear. Let me have a look..." The heroine examined Uraraka's legs, then planted a kiss on the girl's forehead.
*Oh my goooddd, her quirk is so incredibllee!!!*
"Thank you very much!" The duo said together.
The hero smiled, handing the now exhausted Uraraka a handful of gummy bears.
"You two be careful now." She said, wandering off to find injured examinees.
Izuku and Uraraka left UA alongside Iida, excited to find out whether they had passed or not.
