Jon's POV
       We were all walking together silently. We had been walking for about 30 minutes now, and no one had said a word in awhile. We were all following Uni, who seemed to walk a little too confidently in the direction he was leading us. I mean, I know he has some strange sense of where he's supposed to be going now, but I just found it strange. We were walking down a path that was shaded by trees. It was strange though, everything else seemed to shine brightly, except for our path. That's kinda weird... I thought skeptically to myself.

        "See Uni! There's more!" Cory suddenly yelled, making the three of us jump in suprise. Uni turned his head towards Cory, whom was standing a few feet away, looking down at the ground. Uni sighed then walked over to Cory, "Cory, they're just horse tracks." Uni said calmly.  "No. they. aren't! I swear that they aren't!" Cory snapped back. I could tell that Uni was getting impatient, but I also became aware of something else. Tommy was sniffing the air as if his cat senses had picked something up. His tail fur began to rise a bit, and his ears twitched. He slightly bared his teeth, and he looked at Uni and Cory, who were arguing angrily at the moment.

       "Cory you need to chill!" Uni snapped. "Guys-" Tommy began, but Cory cut him off. "I just don't want us to get ambushed!" Cory snapped back. "GUYS-" Tommy said again, except louder this time. "Well maybe if you spent less time arguing with me, and more time walking, then we could leave this 'dangerous' area fastest!" Uni growled back. Cory opened his mouth to argue, when a loud yell rang through the air. "SHUT UP YOU DINKWEEDS! IF YOU TWO WOULD STOP ARGUING LIKE A MARRIED COUPLE, AND START LISTENING, THEN YOU WOULD KNOW THAT WE'RE BEING WATCHED RIGHT NOW!"

       I stared at Tommy in suprise, while Cory and Uni stared wide-eyed at him. Then Cory and Uni exchanged embarrassed glances, and the air took on a more serious tone. "Umm...What?" I questioned nervously. Then, a bush near us began to tremble, then it stopped. We all stared at the bush, anxiety making the air around us thick. Then Cory murmured to Uni quietly, "Uni...Can you sense what's behind that bush..?" Cory questioned quietly. Uni didn't say a word, he only began rapidly tapping his feet. His mouth was straight and emotionless with concentration. Then he spoke up, his voice slightly suprised, "It's a girl-" He began, but before he could even finish his sentence, a blurr of red flashed out of the bushes.

       I gasped in suprise as a girl with bright red hair jumped out of the bushes and right to Uni, but the air was tense. The girl with bright red hair was standing behind Uni, a long, sharp sword pressed dangerously against his neck. Uni was completely still, all except for his slightly rapid, fearful breathing. The girl bared her teeth lightly, her eyes looking quickly from Uni to us back and forth. Her greenish-blue eyes were filled with slight rage and determination. I stared at her eyes, Wow...She has beautiful eyes... I thought to myself. Then the girl spoke up in a slightly high, but tough voice, "Is there a problem with me being a girl?" She growled. Uni didn't dare move, but he quietly stuttered, "N-No, I never said-" He began, but she cut him off. "Im not just any girl, im a warrior!" She growled, triumph in her voice.

       I could see the others looking slightly suprised as she said this. This was only because, girls weren't allowed to be warriors. People said that they weren't strong enough, but this girl seemed plenty strong. "Let him go!" Cory suddenly snapped. The girl only smirked, "No, I should kill him for insulting me like that!" She snapped, pushing her sword harder against Unis neck. I saw Uni start to pat his foot, but the girl pushed her sword harder against his neck, "Move again and I'll slit your throat without hesitation." She whispered. "He didn't do anything to you!" Cory growled. The girl opened her mouth to argue, but Tommy spoke up first.

      "Excuse me miss, but you say you're a warrior, correct? Well, im no expert, but im pretty sure that warriors kill honorably, and it isn't honorable to kill someone for a small misunderstanding." He said confidently. She girl glared at Tommy, "Well he-" She began, but Tommy cut her off. "Well he is blind. The only way that he can get any idea of his surroundings is to sense it, so what other description could he give, besides it's a person, but that isn't alot of information. And I know this boy,  he wouldn't have said it if he'd known it'd offend you, so let him go." The girl looked suprised, then she glanced at Uni. She seemed to notice the blindfold, and she gasped quietly. Then, she put her sword down and lightly pushed Uni forward. Uni quickly walked forward, his breathing rapid in fear. Cory immediantly jumped forward and wrapped his arms around Uni. Then Cory glared towards the girl, "What is wrong with you!?" He exclaimed angrily. She glared back, "Im sorry! I've had a bad past, and it's a sensitive subject!" She snapped back, referring to her gender.

      Everything was silent for a few moments, then I decided to break it. "Im Jon by the way, and that's Uni, Tommy, and Cory." I said softly, gesturing towards the others. She look suspiciously at me, then she smiled lightly, "Well, Jon, im Ashlie." She said quietly. I smiled, "That's a nice name!" I said happily. Ashlie wore a worn out looking blue sweater with sequins on it, and dark blue shorts and...Kitten socks? I smiled as I looked at her outfit, "Oh my god! I love your socks!" I exclaimed happily, and she giggled, "Thanks!" She said happily, her voice losing its rough tone, making it sound alot cuter. I smiled brightly as I looked at her, and she smiled big aswell. I don't know why, but she gave me a happy feeling inside.

      Then Cory ruined our moment, "Hey, Ashlie, can you tell us anything about these tracks in the mud?" He questioned curiously, and I heard Uni sigh in annoyance at the topic. I looked over to where the tracks were, there was a dark shadow casted over them, and they were sitting in a small puddle of mud, then I realized something. "Beware the tracks of mud and darkness!" I suddenly blurted. Everyone looked at me in a mixture of confusion and suprise. I looked at them, then my ears drooped in embarassment. "What?" Tommy questioned. "O-Oh, n-nothing!" I lied. They all continued to stare at me, "Riigghhtt..." Tommy murmured, then I looked at Ashlie. Her eyes were narrowed skeptically at me, then she shrugged. "Well, he isn't wrong. Do you guys even know where you are? This place is very dangerous."

      We all looked at Ashlie in confusion, "What do you mean?" Uni asked slowly, alarm sneaking into his tone. Ashlie looked around quickly, "This is vampire territory, and this is the vampire trail. And those are horse tracks from the vampires horses. And they're fairly fresh, so you guys should get a move on, out of here." Ashlie explained. "I told you guys!" Cory yelled triumphantly. Uni sighed, and Ashlie raised her eybrow, "Did you guys not notice how you were literally walking in the only dark area of this whole forest?" Ashlie questioned. Uni looked at her with a slight annoyance, "Actually I was leading, and no. I didn't notice the color scheme of the forest, sorry." He said sarcastically. "Someone's salty." Tommy whispered to me, and I giggled. Unis head quickly turned in Tommys durection, and I could tell he was angry, "I can hear you!" He snapped. Tommy laughed quietly, "Hehe..I know." He teased. Uni scoffed at him, then Ashlie interrupted, "Ahem, you guys should get out of here, im sure that the vampires are already on their way. They tend to know when people are around." The others nodded, but I stared at Ashlie.

      "Where are you gonna go?" I asked curiously. Ashlie looked at me, then she looked away from me, "Around..." She murmured. I looked sadly at her, "Do you have a home?" I questioned. Ashlie sighed, "Everywhere is my home." She said quietly. "So you don't." I replied sadly. Ashlie looked me in the eyes, "I guess you're right..." She murmured. I looked at the others, then I looked back at her. "You should join our quest!" Uni suddenly said, voicing my thoughts. "Your quest?" She questioned. I nodded, "Yeah! We're going to save the world!" I said happily. She looked at me in suprise, "We could give you a home, and a place to belong." Tommy said. She looked at all if us, then she smiled, "Sure...I guess." She said with a smile. "Yay!" I cheered happily, and I lept forward and hugged her. She stiffened in my grip, and when I realized what I was doing, I quickly pulled back. "Im sorry!" I apologized quickly, "I got overly excited, a-and.." I stuttered nervously, but I trailed off when I saw her smile. "It's fine.." She said with a cute giggle, then everything went downhill.

       I heard Cory scream, and I quickly looked over to him. I gasped in suprise as I saw that he being grabbed by a shadowy figure, its eyes glowing red with triumph. Then suddenly the figure pulled out a hard, wooden club, and he wacked Cory roughly in the head with it. Cory froze for a moment, then his body fell limp and the figure dropped him with a thud. "CORY!" Uni yelled, running at the figure, but the figure simply swung the club, hitting Uni in the side of the head, sending him motionlessly to the ground. Then, beside me I heard Ashlie scream, and when I turned my head I saw another shadowy figure holding her. "Get off of me you dirty vampire!" She yelled, but the dark figure only laughed, then he struck Ashlie in the head with the club, she gave me one last fearful glance, then her eyes closed, and the figure dropped her unconcious body on the ground. "Get away from my friends you creamweasle!" Tommy yelled, his cat ears going back in anger. Then he launched at the shadowy figure that stood infront of Cory and Unis unconscious bodies. The shadowy figure gasped as his chest was scratched by Tommys claws, that seemed to have just appeared. The figure snarled, then he slammed the club roughly against the side of Tommys head. Tommy stood for a moment, lightly swaying. Then he fell to his knees, unconcious. I gasped as I felt something hard hit my head. Pain exploded into the back of my head, and I fell to the ground. My vision was blurry, and quickly fading. But I saw a dark figure with bright red eyes approaching me, then everthing began yo fade away. Pain and conciousness disapearing in a moment.
