Sunset's Story
"Where do I begin?" sighed Sunset as she looked at the five men that could potentially be her friends, "As you can tell, I'm obviously not from New York. In fact, I'm not even from here... I'm from a different dimension entirely." Raphael listened to her heartbeat, and said, "She's not lying."
"So you're technically an alien?" asked Donnie. "When you put it that way, yeah..." chuckled Sunset, "where I'm from, I'm not even human. I'm a pony in my world. This world I'm from is known as Equestria. It's a land full of ponies. Ponies such as land ponies, unicorns, Pegasi, and Alicorns." Michelangelo raised his hand and asked, "What's a Pegasi and an Alicorn?"
"A Pegasi is the plural term for Pegasus, a pony with wings," explained Sunset, "and an Alicorn is a rare type for ponies. They have the horn of a unicorn, and the wings of a Pegasus. They are of royal descent." Raphael visualized what an Alicorn looked like in his head, and thought such a sight was beautiful. Since Sunset could hear Raph's thoughts, she smiled at him. Raph could sense Sunset's muscles stretching to a smile. She got out her locket, and said, "This is what me and my brother looked like when we were foals. His name is Garrett." She passed the picture of herself as a filly and Garrett as a colt to Casey and the brothers, and Raphael looked at the picture, or he tried to at least. This is what the picture looked like.
Sunset could tell Raphael couldn't see the picture, but she could forgive him. "Your brother's cute," complimented Mikey. "Thanks Mikey," said Sunset, "he's grown to be a handsome stallion. I was mentored by Equestria's ruler, Princess Celestia. I was one of her greatest students. But I was arrogant, cruel, hotheaded, and selfish, never wanted to socialize with anyone. I guess I was acting out of grief because Garrett and I lost our parents..."
"Many of us become different people when we grieve," reasoned Leonardo, "sometimes grief can turn the kindest people cruel." Sunset nodded and continued on, "Well my grief made me someone who craved power. My personal greed made me forget who I once was, and in my ambitions, I forgot my own brother... If I'd been more humble and made the effort to listen to Celestia, I'd realize how right she was. I wanted to become an Alicorn princess like her, but was denied the crown. When she expelled me, I ran away into a portal here. I've been a human in this dimension since. I made a reputation for myself as the popular girl in high school. I was the bully of the school, and was what you called the bad girl. I took things too far when I went back to Equestria to steal the crown of the most recent princess. Her name was Twilight Sparkle, the Princess of Friendship. She chased me here, and things escalated... She tried to stop me, but I put on the crown, and the magic overwhelmed me... I was corrupted into this... Demon..."

Throughout Sunset's talk, she thought about that fateful night. Raph could see her memories, and the demon scared him. "Thankfully Princess Twilight and her friends stopped me," continued Sunset, "they helped me see the error of my ways, helped me understand the value of friendship; I became a better person because of Princess Twilight." She smiled, thinking of her friend.
"She saved you in a way," pointed out Raph. "Well it's nice to see you redeemed yourself," said Leo, "it's often hard to redeem oneself. But you have our respect."
"Still, I brought magic to this world," said Sunset, "some of the magic has given me powers... I can feel someone's emotions and look into their past memories by touching them. Rest assured, I can control that power, so I haven't looked into your pasts."
"Whoa, you're like a comic book superhero!" said Mikey. Sunset smiled at Mikey's comment and said, "I came to New York to investigate mysterious magic that may have been causing deaths..." She showed the five men the headline, Casey reading it aloud. "You know, I could ask April to help you investigate this," offered Casey. "That'd be very nice, thanks," said Sunset, "another thing I have to confess concerns Raphael... You see, I can suddenly hear his thoughts..."
"It's true," backed Raphael, "and I can hear her thoughts too... We were able to see each other in our dreams... It's almost as if there's some sort of connection..." Suddenly, Sunset's magical journal started buzzing. "That must be Twilight right now," said Sunset, "I'm able to communicate with Princess Twilight Sparkle on this magical journal." She opened up the journal and read aloud...
Dear Sunset,
I read about what you wrote, and consulted Star Swirl. The fact that you're able to see Raphael in your dreams is indeed a result of this spark. And there is a high likelihood that you can hear his thoughts and he can mutually hear yours. That is also a result from the spark. According to Star Swirl, you and Raphael are experiencing a psychic connection. It's a rare occurrence for ponies, but usually reserved when somepony has found their potential soulmate. I'll give you further input on everything you need to know. And if there's an emergency, either I'll send myself or somepony else to help you. Garrett sends his love. Until then, I wish you and Raphael the best of luck.
Your friend,
Princess Twilight Sparkle
Raph and his brothers were stumped. Raph now had a psychic connection with Sunset. Which most likely meant she would know about his disability. Or maybe she already knew... He stood up and said, "I have to take a breather..." He then left the dojo.
