I remember once reading a TMNT novel where Raphael turned out to be blind. It was interesting. I thought, what if there was a RaphShimmer story where Raph and Sunset were in love, but it turned out that the hot headed turtle was blind? It would be somewhat interesting, wouldn't it? And the way Raph was blinded was inspired by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Urban Legends, which is the non-canon run from Image Comics that ran from 1996 to 1999. This run of the Turtles series was infamous for being more dark and gritty. After being abruptly cancelled in 1999, the series will soon be concluded this year. This story contains elements of Daredevil, the 2003 version of TMNT, the 2012 version, the Image series, and Simply Meant To Be. So yes, Garrett and Dark Heart will play a role. And does the art to this beautiful cover look familiar look familiar?

 It should. It was drawn by JWolfSilver, author of Scars of Our Past. When I saw the cover she drew for her book, I was like, wow!
