Part 2- Jealous
"Renet?" Mikey questioned, a smile on his face. "Woah, dudette, you actually came back to visit me! This is so cool!" He exclaimed, running up and wrapping his arms around the strangely dressed lady.
Shelby's eyes widened in surprise, before her expression turned to an icy glare. "Am I missing something here?" She growled, biting the side of her mouth in an attempt to keep the angry mass of ice inside her contained.
Monica let out a short chuckle. "This'll be good."
"We met Renet when you were still brainwashed with the Foot Clan." Donnie explained. "She's a Assistant Time Master in training."
"And when we say training, we mean, it's gonna take her a LONG time before she's actually a Time Master." Raph grumbled, so only Shelby and a few of the others could hear.
"Of course I came back!" Renet laughed, hugging Mikey back. "I told you I would! Oh, oh! Before I forget," she muttered, letting go of Mikey and grabbing a piece of folded paper from her small little pocket. "I told my friends I would get your guys' autographs. Does anyone have a pen?"
"Yes, because on patrol, I always have a pen handy, just waiting for a time traveler to pop up and ask me for one." Tyler laughed.
"We can head back to the lair and get the paper signed, I'm sure we have a pen somewhere back home!" Mikey stated, glancing at Leo for the okay.
Leo was watching everyone, dumbfounded, before he snapped out of it, his facial expression contorting into that of anger. "You guys! We were on the trail of the Foot Clan. We're not just gonna drop everything and head back to the lair!" He exclaimed.
"All I heard was 'head back to the lair'. Thanks, Leo!" Mikey smiled. "Come on, Renet, I'll show you the way." He said, taking her hand and leading her to the edge of the building, before jumping down into an alley.
Leo stared off after them in shock, not expecting his youngest brother to simply brush off orders like that. He expected that behavior from Raph, not Mikey.
Monica walked up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We can search for the Kraang tomorrow night. I'm sure whatever they're doing can be easily put to a stop in the next 24 hours." She reassured him.
"Yeah, we better follow them, anyways. Who knows what kind of trouble those buffoons could get into." Raph muttered, leading the way to the sewers.
Shelby's fists clenched, her pale blue eyes flashing an icy blue for a second, before she followed after the group, each step calculated, each breath deep and slow.
❄️ ❄️ ❄️
"This is Ice Cream Kitty, she's the sweetest kitty cat that was ever mutated! Literally!" Mikey cooed, scratching under Ice Cream Kitty's chin. She purred, her tail flicking with affection.
"How cold! But, ah, who mutated her?" Renet questioned, a brow raised.
"Hehe." Mikey chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of his head.
As the two continued their conversation, Shelby watched from the dojo door, her glare icy, and the wall she leaned on was covered in frost.
"Hello? Earth to Shelby? Are you okay?" A voice asked from behind Shelby, and she turned in surprise. Standing in the dojo was Monica, who was watching her with concern. "What's on your mind?" She questioned, taking a couple steps forward.
Shelby sighed, glancing back out at Renet and Mikey. "Nothing, really. I mean, I have a lot on my mind. I just haven't sifted through it yet."
"Maybe I can help?" Monica offered. "I mean, sometimes you just need to get some stuff off your chest." When Shelby shot her a doubtful look, Monica only snorted. "How about I just tell you what I think is happening here. You are so jealous of Renet and Mikey."
Shelby scoffed, crossing her arms defiantly. "I am not jealous." She hissed.
"I am, man." Tyler's voice sounded as he peered into the dojo. "I wished she'd stop hanging all over Mikey so we could play some video games." Ty sighed as he entered the room.
Shelby rubbed her temples in annoyance. "Just what I need. More voices." She grumbled.
He patted Shelby's shoulder, smiling. "Sup, Shelbs? Wish you had your turtle back?" He teased.
Shelby blushed, turning away from her brother, her eyebrows furrowed. "He's not my turtle, Ty. He can do what he wants, I don't own him." Shelby explained calmly, though there was a hint of sadness in her tone as she stared at the ground.
"Don't worry, Shelby. Mikey's just fascinated by the fact that she's from the future." Tyler tried to soothe his sister.
Shelby opened her mouth to speak, when another voice overlapped her's, and she shut her lips immediately.
"Hey, Monica!" Renet waved as she walked in, a sheet of paper clutched in her hand. "I was wondering if you could sign this? My friends love the turtles, but they would die if I got signature from Monica the Archer!" She cheered, shoving the paper and pen towards Monica.
"Sure." Mona smiled, although it seemed to be a bit strained. She placed the paper against the wall, and began signing it.
Renet smiled happily, before glancing over at Shelby. She lifted her brow. "Who are you?" She asked, suddenly forgetting about Monica's autographs.
Shelby hesitated, before she spoke reluctantly. "Shelby Bradford."
At first, Renet didn't say anything. Her nose scrunched a bit, and her eyebrows furrowed as she raked her brain in thought.
Finally, she spoke. "I've never read about you in the history books."
