Byakuya
Regular PoV
I was a servant to the Royal Kuchiki family. My job was to be a protector of Sir Bayakuya Kuchiki. I served his every wish, his every order. I've been by his side since we were young. I've given my every will, body, and soul to this man. And that's how I had come to love him.
But the world was cruel.
Bayakuya had fallen for another maiden. She was beautiful, I'll admit. Her name had become Hisana Kuchiki. How I had longed to carry that name since I was a child. But I was happy for that man I've served for my entire life. I had sat in the back, watching their traditional wedding ceremony. I was content that he had even let me attend the wedding.
I knew of my social standing. I was a servant. From the moment I was born, I had my life purpose to stand by this man. And I will. Though, I grieve that he will never give me the love I offer him.
But then Sir Bayakuya had broken when Lady Hisana had passed from her illness. I was there when she died. And I grieved for losing such a woman.
Flashback
I was in Lady Hisana's bedroom. She laid in her cot- pale, seating, coughing. I kneeled besides her, placing a bowl of cool water to my right. I took the small rag inside, dabbing at Lady Hisana's forehead. She smiled weakly at me, which I didn't have the heart to not smile back. "Thank you Senna-chan." Lady Hisana whispered, choking back coughs.
"You mustn't thank me so much Lady Hisana." I told her softly. I dipped the rag in the cool water again. "It's my purpose to serve you and Sir Bayakuya." I told her. She frowned at me.
"You shouldn't devote yourself to us. Aren't there things that Senna-chan wants to do?" Lady Hisana questioned, attempting to sit up. I dropped the rag quickly into the bowl again and reached out to help Lady Hisana sit up. Once she was comfortable again, she stared at me awaiting my reply.
"I want Sir Bayakuya and Lady Hisana to be happy." I smiled in reassurance. Lady Hisana frowned a bit further, about to speak.
"Hisana?" A deep voice called from behind me. Lady Hisana smiled to greet the man I knew all too well. I turned to face Sir Bayakuya too. I bowed, placing my hands on the ground in front of me and moving my head to rest upon them.
"Good Afternoon Sir Bayakuya." I greeted him. I heard my name roll of his tongue, telling me to sit up straight. I followed my orders, sitting up.
"How is Hisana, Senna?" He asked me. I nodded my head.
"She's doing well. Her fever hasn't peaked since yesterday morning." I informed. Sir Bayakuya nodded, bending down besides Lady Hisana. I moved out of the way, letting him comfort his wife.
Just has he reached for her, Lady Hisana began coughing harshly. She held her chest, falling into Sir Bayakuya's arms. With wide eyes, I watched as Lady Hisana struggled to breath. Her eyes were half lidded, but she forced her last few wishes out. She wished that Sir Bayakuya search for her little sister and take her in. But what she asked for next shocked me.
"And please treat Senna-chan nicer. She's devoted herself to you for long enough. She surely has dreams too." Lady Hisana whispered, her eyes fluttering closed. Tears streamed down Sir Bayakuya's face, like I've never seen before. He screamed for Lady Hisana to stay awake, but she was already gone.
I scooted forward, placing a hand on Sir Bayakuya's shoulder. "Sir, you have my deepest consolidations-" I was cut off by suddenly being pushed away. A stinging pain was left in my right cheek. Sir Bayakuya was facing me with anger in his eyes. He sneered harshly at me, taking a step toward me as I moved away.
"Why didn't you do anything else to save her!?" He yelled at me. I blinked back tears as I felt the sting grow stronger.
"I-I.....Unohana taichou said there wasn't anything else I could do!" I unintentionally shouted back. That earned me another slap. Before now, I've never been touched by this man. This was a new pain. I guess that it hurt more mentally.
"Don't raise your voice as me Senna. Remember who you're talking to." Sir Bayakuya said emotionlessly. He eyed me with his now red stained eyes. Tears dried on his cheeks. I moved to bow.
"S-sorry...Sir Bayakuya." I whispered. I heard footsteps thud away, followed by the slamming of the door. I slowly looked up to see Sir Bayakuya gone. I turned to the pale body of Lady Hisana and bowed to it. "I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to save you..Lady Hisana.." I let my tears flow, not looking up until they were all out. "I'm sorry."
Flashback End
That was nearly a year ago. Sir Bayakuya has changed quite a bit and up to this day, he's still searching for Lady Hisana's long lost sister. And as always, I served him.
My footsteps padded across the wood flooring. I passed Sir Bayakuya's squad members in the hall, politely greeting them as I made my way to Sir Bayakuya's office. I held a tray in my hands containing hot green tea that Sir Bayakuya had requested. The door appeared as I turned down a hallway. I came to a stop in front of it and knocked lightly on the wood. A faint, deep 'come in' was heard on the other side. I opened the door expertly with one hand, the tray of tea in the other.
"Sir Bayakuya I've got you're tea." I said, not looking at him in the eyes.
"Thank you Senna." He thanked me without even looking up. He continued to finish his paperwork that was due to Squad 10 in the morning. I placed the tray down, beginning to prepare a cup. When I finished that task, I bowed and awaited to be dismissed from the room. I heard the splotchy ink against paper stop. I didn't look up still, knowing he was watching me. "Senna." His deep voice said my name harshly. I didn't flinch.
"Yes Sir Bayakuya?" I questioned, still bowing ninety degrees. I heard him sigh a bit.
"Look at me Senna." He ordered. I slowly stood up straight, and carefully looked at him. Our eyes met. "Why have you been avoiding my gaze Senna?" He asked bluntly. I stiffened at the question a bit. I never meant to avoid Sir Bayakuya. But since that event almost a year ago, I have always blamed myself for Lady Hisana's death. I could've done something else to help, something more to ensure her life.
"I-I....I cannot answer to that Sir Bayakuya." I replied bowing my head. I heard a loud screech, followed by a couple loud thuds. I looked up to see Sir Bayakuya standing. His palms were slammed tightly against his office desk and his chair had fallen behind him. I took a step back, a bit startled by the action.
"Leave." He whispered. Once the words left his mouth, I was out the door. My feet ran across the wood flooring, down the hall with turns here and there. I came to my room, pushing the door open frantically, and slamming it shut behind me.
My breath was rigid, chest heaving up and down. I couldn't control the vibrant thrashes that radiated off my arms. I was shaking so bad that my body had no control over the jerky movements. My back slid down the door, pulling my knees to my chest. I had never felt such a fear toward Sir Bayakuya. Just the way he spoke with that cold tone. The way he looked at me with those cold eyes. But I'm afraid that isn't enough to make my love for my master disappear.

Bayakuya's PoV
I watched as Senna ran out the door. Her long Black hair was the last to disappear from my sight. Why had I snapped at her? She did nothing wrong. But why did it irritate me to no end when she didn't meet my gaze? I growled a bit, picking up my chair and taking a seat. The tea Senna had prepared for me stained my paperwork, that I quickly had to restart.
My mood worsened.
As I began to recopy my previous papers onto a new sheet, my thought wandered to the very woman that's been by me. Senna. She was a person of a lower class than me. She was amazing, trustworthy, loyal, a friend. Senna was also born to serve my family. Born to serve me. I loved her.
I've known that for as long as she was first introduced to me. Senna was the one I longed for. But because of her position as my servant, that sort of thing was not allowed. It never made anything better when I married Hisana, another magnificent woman. One that I came to love after our marriage. Though she is now gone, my feeling for Senna are arising once more.
I shook my head rapidly. No! Senna will never be anything more that my loyal servant. She'll be by my side until the end. And that should be enough for me.
I no longer wanted to work. I scowled, setting my brush down. I glared at the piles unfinished and made my way to my room. I'd just send Renji to relay a message to Hitsugaya taichou that the papers will not be finished until tomorrow night. I gracefully made my way to my room, passing Senna's. I stopped. I raised my hand, knocking softly on the door. When there came no reply, I slowly slid the door open.
Inside the room was dark. It was neat and organized, as expected of Senna. I stepped in a bit further, glancing toward her cot. Senna's sleeping figure lie there. Her breathing was slow and her hair was laid messily around her face, framing it. I stepped over, bending down to move her hair from her eyes.
"I'm sorry Senna.." I muttered. I stood and turned to leave the room. Behind me, I shut the door as lightly as possible. I moved slightly further down the hall, coming to my room.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP!
My eyes shot open. Red blared around me. The alarm. I was quick to get up and out of bed. From the corner of my room, I grabbed my zanpakutou. Without thinking about anything else, I rushed into the hallway. As I stepped out of the premises of my bedroom, other Shinigami shoved past me.
From the corner of my eyes, I caught a glimpse of red. My hand shot out, pulling the male's robes back. The male with flaming red hair was Squad 6's Lieutenant, Renji Abarai. I pulled on his shirt, staring at him hardly. "Where's Sir Bayakuya!?" I had to yell over the alarm. He looked at me with wide eyes, pointing to his room. I shoved the younger male away from me, dashing out to Sir Bayakuya's room.
I slammed the door open, my zanpakutou drawn and ready for battle. I saw Sir Bayakuya fending off a large Hollow that seem to possess the power to actually think for itself. The large unknown creature fought back strategically. But Sir Bayakuya was too occupied to notice another Hollow of the same kind rushing from behind.
I dashed out, cutting one of the Hollow's arms. I retracted my blade, pulling back to prepare for another hit. I thrust it forward, stabbing the monster in it's mask. "Senna!" Sir Bayakuya calledin shock, pushing his foe away. I nodded at him and we continued to fight as one.
We were in perfect sync. I never knew that we could do this. Is this the outcome of us always sparring together as small children in training? The brushed the thoughts from my head, as Sir Bayakuya slayed the last Hollow.
My body ached. I was injured quite a bit, taking shots for Sir Bayakuya. I felt pain, saw red, saw black, felt nothing. My body moved on it's own, turning to face my master. "BAKA! Why would you evacuate everyone and stay here to fight by yourself!?" I yelled, hearing nothing that left my mouth.
"Senna.." Sir Bayakuya faced me as well, watching my every move. My body shook just as it zid earlier.
"Baka. I can't lose you yet.." I muttered, barely being able to catch the unheard words from escaping past my lips. "Can't you see that I still care for you?"
"Senna I..." He began. But I knew what he'd say. So I kneeled, bowing my head. The pain was ignored, my only focus was on this moment.
"Being by your side is enough." I felt my lips pause. "Master.....Bayakuya." I felt my body become light. And now all I really did see was black.
