Chapter 9

"Psst."

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion. Listen for anymore noises.

"Psst."

"I will be right back." I tell Xander as he discusses something over the phone in his office.

We had been sitting there since dinner ended he was on the phone talking with one of his brothers. I was going to give him privacy but he insisted I stay. So far all I have done was familiarize myself with the feeling of the multiple carvings down one of the legs of his big desk.

"I will be done soon baby." He says and I nod before finding my way out of his office.

"Come with me." A man says.

"Hmmm?"

"It's me from earlier, I have more to discuss with you." He explains. It takes me a moment to realize what he was talking about.

"Okay. Let's talk then." I say.

"Just this way." He takes my wrist carefully as he leads me through the giant house. "I think I have a way to get you to understand this better."

"What is 'this'?" I ask.

"The oracle." He says as he opens a door and allows me to walk in. I hear the heavy door shut behind me.

"Hello?" I call out.

That's when it happens. My vision comes and I can see everything in the dimly lit, empty room. I feel slightly scared with the occurrence but, I walk further into the fairly empty room.

What am I suppose to do?

I take a seat in an empty chair behind a large oak desk. A light illuminates from the desk and I look down to see an orb rise up from the desk. I feel my hands get clammy as I wait to see what will happen next.

A woman's face appears in the glass orb. Her hair wiry and grey. She as wrinkles all over her face and her eyes are a dark brown.

"Sienna?" She speaks. Her voice is soft with a sharpe edge to it.

"Y-Yes." I stutter.

"Don't be scared child. All will be okay." She says and I just nod to her words allowing her to continue. "I'm guessing Peet has told you about the oracle."

"Yes, he has." I say softly.

"Your special you know that? You will be the one to save our land from the dark wolves." She says and this is wear the confusion begins. "Three brothers, one torn from life the other good and the third evil. Blind love will save the lands from eternal darkness-"

"Stop." I speak up and she looks at me. "What does this mean? What are you talking about. Three brothers, blind love?"

"Maybe it's best I show you the future." She says and thats when she disappears and like a movie multiple scenes play out before me.

A banquet.

Everyone laughing and chatting up old friends and family members who they haven't seen in so long.

I see me sitting beside the man from my dreams, Xander.

He smiles across at an unfamiliar man and woman. I watch as he introduces me then everything switches.

A funeral.

Everyone from the banquet is there but, no more lively colours. We are all dressed in black. I watch as everyone cries and one man glares down at the casket which will soon be buried.

The man Xander was introducing me to.

That's when everything switches to Xander's office. He has me pushed against his desk. I flush at the scene before Xander roughly pushes away from me and runs out of the door.

I hear sirens and everything goes black.

When the light comes back I am in the centre of a field crying over Xander's dead body.

I feel the blood run from my face looking over his pale motionless body. The skies are red and the air is still.

Darkness fills my vision and I am back in the chair looking at the lady.

"You can change fate Sienna. Xander doesn't have to die. You don't have to live in a world of evil without your mate, blinded and lost." She says and I furrow my brows.

"How? What can I do?" I ask.

"Your mother is not who you think. That was your adopted family. You are the only spawn of the moon goddess." She says and I feel my body freeze. "You have powers your unaware of you just have to connect to your inner self."

"I don't think I can do that." I mumble.

"Peet will help you. He has studied this for years. I have explained to him how he can help you. He has been ready for this day to come for seven years." She explains.

"How am I going to help if I can't see?" I ask.

"You're sights will come back piece by piece as you grow stronger and stronger." She informs me.

"But, the elders of my last pack said I had to mate a Alpha." I say and she chuckles.

"Those elders never saw something this big coming. I am sure with a regular wolf that, that would work but this, this is much bigger then anyone planned for." She goes on. "You can change the fate. You can save us from the evil which is upon us."

"I don't know if-"

Xander barges through the door with a man behind him but, before I could clearly make anything out my vision goes and so does the woman who was explaining the oracle.

"What is she doing in here?" Xander growls as his presence moves closer to me.

"Alpha she was talking to the-"

"I told you I didn't want that kind of stress on her!" He shouts at Peet.

"Xander, you knew about the oracle?" I ask him.

"Yes, I did baby. I don't want you to worry about it though. I have been working on this with my brothers ever since I found out." Xander says softly.

"You can't change fate Xander. I was suppose to-"

"No. I can do as I please and my life goal is to keep you safe and healthy. I can't do that if your planning on fighting in a war much bigger then any war you could ever imagine." Xander growls at the thought of me in a war and I put my hand in the air to find him. He takes my hand and I stand up and place it on his cheek.

"Everything will be okay. I will help you guys. She told me that Peet can help train me." I explain to him.

"There will be none of that nonsense going on. No training, no listening to women in orbs, and certainly no Peet." His voice gets deeper and dark with every word.

"I want to help Xander please. That is all I want." I plead and Xander's head shakes under my hand.

"No. I will not allow that." He says and I pull my hand away.

"You can't control everything." I say, annoyance clear in my voice. "Peet take me to my room."

I hear Xander growl and I let out a sound of annoyance.

"Peet don't let Xander control you. Take me to my room. As for you Xander I want you to stay away from me for the time being." I say and I feel Peet grab my wrist and lead me gently out of the room.

"You can't keep me away from you." Xander says as he follows us out of the room.

"Leave us alone Xander. I need some time to recollect my thoughts. As for you, you need some time to lose your arrogance and selfishness." I say and Xander growls at my words.

"You will not speak to me with such disrespect!" He booms.

"You cannot control me Xander. I came home with you now please let me be by myself." I snap in a calm tone at him. The air goes still.

"Fine." He says obeying my command and Peet gasps.

"He actually listened to you." He says awestruck.

"Good. He was beginning to sound like a self absorbed pup." I say and Peet continues to escort me to the room I will be staying it. I dismiss Peet telling him we will speak in the morning and sit on my bed.

My irritation level is on a high after speaking with Xander.

I mean seriously who does he think he is?

*****

I wake up the next morning alone in the bed and I smile.

Good he finally listened for once.

I change out of my pyjamas and into a pair of sweats and a jumper. I make my way down the hall feeling the wall as I go along. When I reach the end of the hall I walk down the stair carefully before turning the corner. Remembering all this from yesterday when Xander took me this way to have dinner. I hear multiple people chatting amongst themselves and I know I have made it to breakfast when the smell of bacon reaches my nose.

"Luna." Someone greets.

"Hi." I say shyly unsure of who it is.

"You can sit over here." The man helps me find my seat.

"Thank you." I say with a smile as I take a seat.

"Your welcome." He says in a happy tone.

"Here, I made you a plate." A woman's voice says.

Finally! Another girl!

"You didn't have to." I say before adding, "But, thank you."

"I didn't know how well you would be able to find the food since you are, you know ..." She trails off.

"I am blind yes." I giggle at her attempts to beat around the bush.

"Oh good you don't get offended when people say that." She says in complete relief.

"Not one bit." I smile as I feel for my utensils.

I pick them up and slide the fork along the plate.

"We are having bacon, eggs and potatoes." She informs me.

I nod and pick up my fork better before stabbing my plate. I feel it go into a potato and I smile.

"I think this has to be one of my favourite breakfasts." I say as the flavours fill my mouth. The potato is freshly cut that morning and the herbs the cook added is perfect.

"Yes, Chef Gwen defiantly knows how to cook."

"I didn't catch your name." I say and she chuckles.

"That's cause I didn't throw it yet." She laughs at her own joke, "But, anyways I am Liane."

"Pleased to meet you Liane. You can call me Sienna or Sie."

With that we finish up the amazing breakfast. Liane talks to her friends for the remainder of it and I just sit listening in on random conversations. A hushed one going on beside me and I have a feeling saying 'The new Luna is hot' would not go over well if Xander were here.

Where is Xander?

I get up from the table and walk slowly out of the room I feel around until I have exited and I walk down the hallway.

"Where are you going?" Xander's voice, laced in depression, reaches my ears as I bump into a sofa.

I wince as my knees buckle but I manage to stay standing.

"Are you okay?" He asks, worry filling his voice.

"Y-Yea I am fine. Just wasn't expecting that is all." I mumble. I feels his hands rub my thighs up and down softly.

"I'm sorry Sienna." Xander says in sorrow.

"It's fine Xander. I really just needed sometime to think and your controlling state was becoming very claustrophobic." I explain and soon I am pulled down onto the couch with my head resting on his chest.

"I really don't want you to fight Sienna. It's really dangerous and, I want to protect you." Xander says and I can hear his wolf whimper.

"It'll be okay Xander."

"I also don't want you around Peet so much. He's a jittery loser and doesn't deserve your love." Xander grumbles and I hit his chest with a gasp.

"Xander! don't be so rude." I say sternly.

"But, he's not your mate. I am, you should love me and only me." He whines and I can't help but giggly at the big bad Xander whining and whimpering like a baby.

"I wouldn't love Peet the way I love you. He's a friend and a teacher that is all. If it makes you feel better you can sit in, in our training sessions." I offer, trying to persuade him.

"Fine. But, if he so much as begins to look at you in the wrong way then there will be no more training." Xander states and I nod in compromise.

"Fair enough. Now, was that so hard?" I ask.

"Yes, actually-"

I cut him off with a kiss to his lips which he gladly accepts. He holds me closer around the waist and I pull away. "You made me really happy by compromising, wasn't that worth all your troubles."

He chuckles and kisses my nose. "Yes, it was."

I hear him sigh and I give him one more kiss to his lips before struggling to get out of his hold. "Xander, let me go your stinky."

I pinch my nose with my thumb and pointer finger for added effect making him groan, "I'm not that smelly."

"Yes you smell like wet dog." I pull up and out of his grip.

"Well if somebody would have let me sleep with them last night I would have been able to take a shower after I went for a run in the rain." Xander says as he stands up and takes my hand.

He walks me down the hall and presumably back to his bedroom. When we get there he sits me on the bed and I can hear him searching around for the things he needs for his shower.

"I will be back and then we can go find Peet." Xander says and I smile giddily.

"Thank you Xander." I say before I hear the door shut to his ensuite bathroom. I wait for him to come out before I go in and brush my teeth from what I had for breakfast.

"You know I liked the taste of bacon on your lips this morning." Xander says from behind me as he kisses down my neck. His big body pressed flush against my back.

I feel my face flush red as I dab my lips with the hand towel.

"Do we have to go to Peet today. Can we have a you and me day?" Xander asks as he kisses my collarbone.

"No I told Peet we would speak today." I say and Xander groans.

"Fine, but I am not going to be happy about it." He says making me laugh.

I take his hand and he guides me to Peet. Which I had Xander mind link him to meet us where I met the lady who told me about this whole Oracle thing.

Her last comment sticks in my head as if it was burned to my memory;

'You can change the fate. You can save us from the evil which is upon us.'

Change fate.

Save them from evil.

Who is the cause of this so called 'evil'.

I understand that it will most likely be one of Xander's brothers but, why?

The death of a brother can't turn someone evil can it?

No. It must be something else. Something bigger then death.

"Oh good you made it." Peet's voice breaks me from my thoughts.

"Is it okay if Xander stays?" I ask him.

"I don't know-" Xander growls and Peet changes his choice of words, "He can sit over there while we begin."

I hear Xander walk away hesitantly and I let Peet take me across the room.

"I read up on this and, there is magic within you. It runs in your veins we just have to practice. We will start off small. Like water. One minute, I am going to go grab a cup of water from the kitchen and we will start with that." Peet says and scurries out of the room quickly.

"You know this is starting to get very lame. We should ditch-"

"C'mon Xander we just got here. At least let me see what Peet has to offer." I say and he huffs like a child.

"Fine, one hour."

"Two." I counter and he chuckles.

"Fine two hours no more." He says and I smile.

"Thanks Xander." I say, happy he is willing to start compromising with me.

I hear the door open and close and I know Peet is back. "Okay I have the water."

"So, what do I do?" I ask as I hear a glass being placed on a wooden table.

"You shift it." He says, "With your mind."

"Great." I say sarcastically. "How do I do that?"

"Good question, well I read up that you must rid yourself of stress. Go to a place where you are mostly happy. By doing this you will keep your goals good rather then thinking of things you hate. By thinking of hatred your goals will be bad." Peet explains and I close my eyes.

I think of being with my mum and dad. I think of laughing and playing monopoly with my family at Christmas.

"You need to relax. Your too tense." Peet says. "Just let your mind wander. Allow it to go into a blank state and let your brain control your thoughts."

I take a deep breath and try to release tension in my body.

"Don't try Sienna. Just let it happen." He advises and I groan.

"How can I just let it happen? I know what I need to do so let me control it."

"You will be able to control it when you get stronger. For now you have to let your body go. Let your brain control." Peet says and I sigh once again.

This is going to be a long lesson.

*****

After a full two hours nothing happens.

Literally.

Peet kept telling me to relax and Xander began to laugh half way through.

This is stressing me out.

What if I am not who everyone thinks I am?

What if I am just a regular wold who is just simply blind?

"We will try again tomorrow Sienna. Same time, same place okay?" Peet says and I nod.

"Yea sure." I say, quite annoyed with the sound of Peet's voice at the moment.

"C'mon baby, Chef Gwen has a lunch for two prepared for us." Xander says and I feel him escort me out of the room. I follow Xander down the hall and towards the dining room. He pulls a chair out for me which squeaks against the wood flooring.

"What if I am not the wolf people think I am?" I ask Xander as I take a seat.

"That's fine. I still love you either way. You're perfect just the way you are. I would actually prefer it if you weren't the wolf everyone thinks you are." Xander says.

"Why?" I ask, "If I am not that makes me less. I could never compete with the other girls. It would make me useless."

"Don't say that. You're perfect Sienna. You're not less then anyone. You're more then any wolf will ever be. Powers or not." Xander growls as he wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me and my chair closer to him.

"I just don't want to let anyone down." I mumble quietly before Gwen comes out with out lunch.
