The Unexplained Truth
Isla.
It was Isla's voice.
Isla, Isla, Isla, Isla, Isla, Isla, Isla, Isla...
IT. WAS. ISLA.
What do I do now?
Respond?
Don't respond?
Definitely do not respond. She will recognize your voice.
I crept almost silently through the house.
"Loralai? Loralai, that's you right?"
Isla, please just shut up.
I don't want to be here. At all.
But I got lost, and somehow stumbled upon the place where--
Where Isla was.
The place Miss wanted to know about.
It clicked.
Miss was about to kill that girl in the woods because the girl wouldn't tell her where Isla was...
So...
That girl Miss is probably killing as I think must be the girl Isla is calling for.
Miss is about to kill Loralai.
And... I couldn't care less.
In fact, if Loralai were dead, then I would be able to tell Miss where Isla is.
And I would be useful!
Except, I have no idea where I am. Where this house is.
All my chances of being useful were thrown out the window with my realization.
And in its place the horror that I had to stay here, or die. How was I supposed to find my way back? This was the only place--
Suddenly a pair of arms threw themselves around me from behind.
I instantly tensed, attempting to push them off of me, but they would not let go.
Isla, you'd better let go of me before I--
"L-Loralai...?" Isla let go of me, and I tried to step away. Run away even.
Suddenly, she was rubbing her hands all over my face.
I stood there, paralyzed.
"You're not Loralai! Who a-" Isla started.
"Nope. I'm not." I said, interrupting her. It was kind of pointless now. She knew I didn't belong here.
"You!"
Isla flailed her arms wildly at me.
"Listen, I'm not here to do anything."
"Yeah, right!"
Isla's arms continued to flail, and I simply stood and watched. She didn't know I had just walked far enough away for her to not hit me.
"I hope you realize if I wanted to do anything, I'd have done it by now. I really don't think that you'd be able to stop anyone."
Isla growled at me angrily, but surprisingly did stop flailing. She must've realized I was right.
"Why are you here, then?"
I shrugged, but realized she couldn't see it. "Dunno. Got lost."
"Are you lying to me?"
"Nope."
"How do I know your not lying?"
"Because... I said this already, but I would've killed you if I was going to."
"Mmm...well..."
Isla realized my point. Then, she bombarded me with questions. And, for a reason I couldn't explain, I answered them. With what I could anyways.
"Are you evil?" was a strange one, and "I wouldn't say that," was my response.
Isla quite clearly stated her disagreement with me, mentioning that anyone who worked with Miss--Or Zaila as Isla so crudely called her-- was evil.
Another one of her questions that was...interesting... was "Is Loralai alive?"
I had no idea how she expected me to know that. She didn't even know Miss had found Loralai. I answered it honestly, but not completely, "I don't know."
I'm pretty sure Isla meant 'Where is Loralai?' which I could definitely answer, but as for her life status, I have no clue at this point. It depends. I also could've told Isla that Loralai is on the verge of death, but that's not quite was Isla asked.
"Why do you put up with Zaila? How do you put up with Zaila?" was the question that caught my interest the most.
"Because she's my mother."

OKAY
SO AUTHOR'S NOTE QUICK
RELAX FIRST
I KNOW IT'S CRAZY
oh and ThePatronusWriter you were totally right so
ANYWAYS THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS ABOUT
I have a few things I need to make clear:
First, you might notice how...different... Calik is during this chapter. Well, there is a reason here. All the other times before now where Calik was included Zaila was also there, and when Calik is around Zaila he gets incredible nervous, well, for obvious reasons, and this affects his personality A LOT. I suppose the Calik you can see in this chapter would be called "The true Calik"
second, is much less serious so all lowercase letters.
calik is zaila's son. yep. birth son, even.
this, btw, totally makes isla and calik step-siblings.
Third,
Hi
I was going to put something serious here, but completely forgot so
hi x2
Fourth, about Calik being Zaila's son, this is why Loralai states they look similar:
"My assumed owners were a 40 or so still-beautiful woman with black hair, pale skin and amber eyes, and a man who must've been 20 years younger who had very neatly combed black hair, pale skin, and pale green eyes. The boy was very short, so short I could tell from my hiding spot. He was 5'4" at the most.
Come to think of it, they looked pretty similar.
Maybe they were related. I didn't know."
-Chapter 'The Longest Journey'.
(btw, i added in Calik's height recently so)
Well this was a super long Author's Note.
