WARNING: chapter maybe considered to have a sad ending, if you do not want to read another sad chapter then skip this one!

(Y/N P.O.V)

I woke up early and went to Cha's house. I walked up to the front door and knocked. After about 10 seconds it opened. "So you finally got here. Come on in."

Cha let me in. We sat down in the living room. "Did you find out anything?"

Cha:"Yes I did, a big white and furry creature was apparently in a storage building two days ago, the last known location anyone I talked to knew about was lake laogai but that is only speculation from a few good sources."

You:"I will take what I can get, so where is this lake laogai?"

Cha:"Are you sure you want to go through with that s? Lake laogai is a place where some people go to and come back 'different'."

You:"I don't care about the risk, I just need to know a location."

Cha:"Ok, but don't say I didn't warn you, it is a few miles from here-"

He proceeded to tell me where I could find this place. After that I got ready to head out. Before I could leave Cha stopped me. "Your not doing this just because Appa and Aang are your friends, your doing it for Rayna too aren't you?"

You:"You know I have to keep my promise to her, I won't go back on my word to her."

He let me go after that. I then headed to lake laogai in search of Appa, or at least a clue to where he is. As I was walking I started to have flashbacks.

(Flashback)

A younger me along with a class of air bending children that were my age were walking with a monk to the cliffs. The monk stopped everyone about 8 yards from the edge. After a moment an adult sky bison and several sky bison cubs flew up from below the cliff. The monk told us that we had to connect with the bison and that the one we connected to would be our friend for life. I still had my eyesight back then, it was about two years before most of my family was killed. I walked forward but got tackled to the ground by one of the bison. I looked at it and it licked my whole face. "I guess we are friends then, hahaha that tickles."

The Bison kept licking me. We then started to head back to the temple. We got to go and see the bison after training and feed them. I had nothing else to do so me and my bison started to play around, I found out from one of the monk that my bison was a female. I even figured out a name she liked, Rayna, after an hour or two of playing we got tired. I fell onto the grass and started to drift off, before I fell asleep Rayna nuzzled up against me and I hugged her. "G'night Rayna."

(Skip forward 1 year)

I walked out to the cliffs and found Rayna playing. She saw means tackled me. I laughed "Hi Rayna, I have a present for you."

She looked at me in excitement and I pull out a metal ball. "I know you have been teething a lot so I thought you could use this."

She grabbed the ball and started to bite down on it. I petted her head as she played.

(Skip forward 1 year)

I had just gotten attack and lost my family, along with my eyesight. After managing to get to the temple steps Rayna flew down and licked me. She seemed concerned. "I am f-fine Rayna."

She must've known I was lying because she made my lay down and she wouldn't let me move. I drifted off to sleep from the long day. When I awoke I felt her standing next to me, she seemed to be guarding me. I got up and she licked me. "S-stop it, that tickles hahaha."

I eventually got her to stop and she nuzzled me. "Thank you Rayna, for being here."

(Present)

I have just arrived at the lake. I fell the wind going to a passage Made of stone that is going into the lake. "Well that isn't suspicious at all."

I go to the passage and felt it go under ground. "It just had to go underground didn't it? Of course it did these are earth benders."

I hoped in to the hole and landed on a stone tile. I went down several corridors, for some reason there weren't any guards. I kept going and searched every room with a giant door. Which was only two as of now. I found another big door but this one was slightly open. I listened and heard both Zuko and Iroh talking. "It's time for you to look inward and begin asking yourself the big questions, who are you? And what do you want?"

Zuko:"ahh!!"

I felt the conflict inside of him. 'I shouldn't interfere'. I the started to run toward the exit, I knew Appa would be safe. I found my way out and started to head back to the city. Along the way I put my hand into my bag and found a metal sphere. I pulled it out and rubbed my finger across an indention in the metal.

(6 months after the loss of y/n's family)

I was playing in town with Rayna. She was mostly grown now and we had just finished getting some supplies for the temple. We were entering the forest by one of the cliffs. After awhile we came to the bridge that connected the temple to the town. It was a small wooden bridge, but it was necessary for travel with out a bison or glider. I started to walk across the bridge careful not to fall. But halfway across I fell because one of the planks snapped. I would have died if Rayna hadn't grabbed my robe with her teeth and pulled me up. "Thank you Rayna."

I hugged her and we kept on going. I held on to her to make sure I didn't fall.

(1 year and 6 months later)

I have started to get the hang of feeling my surroundings with bending. But it is a slow process, I am glad that Rayna has helped guide me when I can't see. I was walking in the forest with Rayna by my side. I was practicing seeing trees with air bending and focusing on living animals. After a while me and Rayna sat down. She was fully grown and had a saddle for long trips and supplies. I reached up into her saddle and pulled out a sandwich for me, five heads of cabbage and 12 apples for her. I ate my sandwich and heard her inhale her food. After we ate we went back to walking. "Hold it right there kid."

I heard a man say from behind me. I felt five people surrounding me and Rayna. "Don't move and you will get to leave here alive, but your bison is coming with us."

I felt my anger boil when he said that. "You will not take her anywhere."

Bandit1:"And Who's gonna stop us? You? Don't make me laugh kid."

I punched one in the gut when he tried to get closer to Rayna. "Oh you've done it now kid, get him."

I felt one come at me from behind and I threw him over my head. Another two came at me from the sides. I moved to avoid them and heard them stab each other. But as I move out of their range the apparent leader stabbed me in the side. I backed away in pain and one of the other guys pinned me to a tree. "Should've listened ki- ahh."

I heard the one talking scream as Rayna hit him into a tree. "Kill that beast."

I heard that and started to struggle with the guy pinning me to the tree. I kicked him in the groin and heard him fall down groaning in pain. "You son of a-"

I knocked him out and went to help Rayna. With only two left I went for one of them. I punched him in the face and threw him into a tree. I then went help get the last one. "Rahh."

I heard Rayna growl in pain. I went over start to fight the last guy as Rayna payed down. "Heh, should've listened, then you both could've lived."
I pushed him a few yards back and a tree fell on top of him. I ran over to Rayna and check her pulse, she was bleeding from a large wound in her chest. I smelled poison on the blade. I hugged her head as she slowly lost what life she had left. "I'm sorry Rayna, I should've been faster, I'm sorry."

She licked me as tiers fell from my eyes. "I promise I won't let anymore friends die, I promise you Rayna."

She made a noise of acknowledgement and layed her head back down. I cried to myself as I held on to her.

(Present)

I look at the metal ball and let my tiers fall, splashing on the sphere and to the ground. "I will keep my promise...Rayna."
