I was sitting on a log, that made for a good seat, next to Toph. We were all, minus Sokka, gathered around a fire. Zuko started pouring some tea. "No one can make tea like uncle, but hopefully I learned a thing or two, would you like to hear uncle's favorite tea joke?"

Katara:"Sire."

Aang:"I like jokes!"

Toph:"Bring it."

You:"Why not!"

I heard him start moving and passing out cups of tea. "Ok well I can't remember how it starts, but the punchline is 'lead me alone, I'm bushed!'."

Absolute...silence. "Well it's funnier when uncle tells it."

Katara:"Right, Maybe that's because he remembers the whole thing."

Everyone, except Sokka/Zuko:"Hahaha."

Toph:"It's nice to get a chance to relax a little, it hardly ever happens."

Zuko paced me a cup of tea. "Thank you."

I took a sip. "Well this is better than the first time you made me tea, though I am still going to say the seventh best tea I've had."

Zuko:"What only seventh!"

You:"I've had several cups of Iroh's tea."

Zuko:"But you've only had five cups of his tea, who's the sixth?"

You:"My mother made some pretty good tea, but hey at least you beat my brother, did you know green tea could turn purple."

I got some laughs and Zuko went back to give out tea. "That's fair I suppose."

Sokka:"Hey can I talk to you for a second?"

I raised an eyebrow at this, but chose to ignore it and continued talking with the others as Toph leaned on me.

(Skip to morning, sir he's been Down their all night, he can't be alive)

I had waited for everyone to go to sleep before moving to the ledge by Appa and hiding myself. When I woke up I could hear Sokka trying to pack Appa, only to be surprise by Sokka. "Not up to anything huh?"

Sokka:"Wha!"*thump*

Sokka(now on the floor):"Euh, fine you caught me, I'm going to rescue my dad, you happy now?"

Zuko:"I'm never happy."

Sokka:"Look I have to do this, the invasion plan was my idea, it was my decision to stay when things were going wrong; it's my mistake and it's my job to fix it, I have to regain my honor, you can't stop me Zuko."

Zuko:"You need to regain your honor, believe me I get it, I'm going with you."

Sokka:"No, I have to do this alone."

Zuko:"How are you going to get their, on Appa? Last time I checked prisons don't have bison daycares!"

Sokka:"*sigh*"

Zuko:"We'll take my war balloon."

I heard them walking away and decided to get up. 'It's not my business, but I should probably keep that idiot alive'. I sighed knowing this was going to be a long one. "Here we go again."

I grabbed my staff and glided up to the cliffs. It took me five minutes to get to the war balloon, and they took another ten to get their after me. When they were in the air I took off and stayed under them.

(Send search teams A-F to check for survivors)

I heard them start talking and decided to grab onto the balloons basket. 'I should probably done that sooner'. "Pretty clouds."

Zuko:"Yeah, fluffy."

I heard whistling, probably Sokka. "What?"

Sokka:"What? Oh I didn't say anything."

Sokka:"You know a friend of mine actually designed these war balloons."

Zuko:"No kidding?"

Sokka:"Yep, a balloon, but for war."

Zuko:"If theirs one thing my dads good at it's war."

Sokka:"Yeah it seems to run in the family."

Zuko:"Hey hold on, not everyone in my family's like that!"

Sokka:"I know I know, you've changed."

Zuko:"I meant my uncle, he was more of a father to me, and I really let him down."

Sokka:"I think your uncle would be proud of you, leaving your home to come help us, that's hard."

Zuko:"Wasn't that hard."

Sokka:"Really, You didn't leave behind anyone you cared about?"

Zuko:"Well I did have a girlfriend, Mai."

Sokka:"That gloomy girl who sighs a lot?"

Zuko:"Yeah, Everyone in the fire nation thinks I'm a traitor, I couldn't drag her into it."

Sokka:"My first girlfriend turned into the moon."

Zuko:"That's rough buddy."

I walked around from the other end of the balloon. "And mines probably going to kill me once we get back, since I never told her I left."

They both jumped. "What are you doing here (y/n)?!"

You:"Well isn't it obvious? I'm tagging along."

Sokka:"Why?"

You:"To keep you two alive, besides it's too late to turn back now."

(The Time Skip has been found, beginning search)

I was meditating while Sokka snored and Zuko provided power. "There it is!"

Sokka:"Guh hu!"

Zuko:"There's plenty of steam to keep us covered, as long as we're quiet, we should be able to navigate through it without being caught."

As we got closer I could easily tell the difference in air temperatures of the volcanic steam and the normal air. I was going to say we should land outside the volcano, but it was too late. We started to descend, I just held on. 'Here we go'. Zuko was trying valiantly to keep the balloon up, but one could guess how that went. "We're goin' down, the balloons not working anymore."

Sokka:"The air outside is just as hot as the air inside, so we can't fly."

Zuko:"So what are we supposed to do?!"

Sokka:"I don't know, crash landing?"

You:"I would suggest holding on to something tightly, or curling into a ball."

I chose the former and held onto the 'engine'. I heard Sokka's muffled scream as we skidded across the water. "Uah!-mmm!"

'That would answer the question of how hot the water is'. We slid up to the shore and the balloon crashed on the rocky shoreline. Both Sokka and Zuko flew out onto the rocky ground; I was fine. I used my standing as an advantage; I kicked off the 'engine' and back flipped onto the ground comfortably. The balloon was destroyed though. "How are we going to get off the island if the balloon won't work?"

Sokka:"We'll figure something out; I suspected it might be a one way ticket."

Zuko:"You knew this would happen and you wanted to come anyway?"

'I'm amazed he didn't think it would, I mean heat doesn't always mix with heat. Then again he is a bit 'hot' headed'. "My dad might be here; I had to come and see."

Sokka started folding the balloon onto what was left of the basket. "Uncle always said I never thought things through, but this ...guh... this is just crazy!"

You:"He's not wrong."

Sokka:"Hey I never wanted you guys to come along in the first place, and for the record I always think things through, but my plans haven't exactly worked so this time I'm playing it by year, so there Ahss."

I helped him kick the balloon into the water after he burned his hand, again. "What are you doing?!"

Sokka:"It doesn't work anyway, and we don't want anyone to find it."

You:"Yeah we don't need anymore problems right now; let's just hope they have spare uniforms."

Zuko:"I hope you know what you're doing; there's no turning back now."

(The search team has detected life in the core of the Time skip)

We had put on uniforms that we found in a armory supply room, I don't know why they needed a vent in there but it sure was convenient. "I hope these disguises work."

Sokka:"We just need to lay low and find my dad as soon as possible."

You:"And maybe stay away from the warden."

Guard:"Guards, there's a scuffle in the yard, come on!"

We fallowed the other guards to the courtyard; where hundreds of prisoners circled around two people. "I didn't do anything; I'm going back to my cell!"

BullyGuard:"Stop right there Chit Sang!"

Zuko stepped out a little bit, but me and Sokka stopped him. "We can't blow our cover."

He stepped back and we watched. "I've had it with your unruly behavior!"

Chit Sang:"What did I do?!"

BullyGuard:"He wants to know what he did, isn't that cute."

I could tell it was more rhetorical, but he still wanted an answer, judging by his stare. "Uhh Yeah very cute sir."

Sokka:"Super cute."

You:"Yep."

'I do not like this guy, I'm blind and even I can see his smug grin'. "You didn't bow down when I walked by Chit Sang!"

Chit Sang:"What?! That's not a prison rule."

BullyGuard:"Do it!"

Chit Sang:"Make me."

The guard started to walk off; before turning and trying to fire whip Chit Sang. I knew he redirected it because the heat went right back at the guard. "Ch ch, fire bending is prohibited, you're going in the cooler; you help me take him in."

He pointed at Sokka. "Meet back here in an hour."

I started to walk off to find out more about this place, but I first whispered to Zuko. "If I'm late then don't wait up, I'll find you guys later."

I didn't let him respond and just kept walking.

(The core is unstable, the fourth wall of the interior has cracked)

'Another broom closet...restroom...office...gym...'. I opened door after door, there was just one more. I opened the door and felt the 9th broom closet that day. "How many broom closets does one place need?"

'Well that's the last one for this floor'. I heard footsteps and decided that staying was not a good choice. I turned the corner and heard the footsteps going into the gym. As they were opening the door one spoke up. "Did you read the memo?"

Gaurd2:"About the new prisoners scheduled for a couple days from now? No it's still on my desk, Why?"

Guard1:"Apparently we might get a pirate!"

Guard2:"What is it with people and pirates? War prisoners are more fun to break if you ask me."

Guard1:"Oh I forgot you preferred them; well some big shot war prisoner is supposed to come I think, Hako...or something."

Before I could hear more the door closed. I then walk the opposite direction in search of Sokka and Zuko. When I went down a floor I 'saw' them along with Suki and Chit Sang. "Now first we need someone to unbolt the cooler; from the inside."

Chit Sang:"Oh I can get you inside."

I chose to 'see' where this was going. I 'saw' Zuko start to sweep and 'bump' into Chit Sang. "Hey what are you stupid? Watch where you're going!"

Chit Sang then shoved Zuko away. "Hey you watch where you're shoving!"

Zuko then shoved back. "I think you mean whom I'm shoving!"

They started to 'fight'. 'This is at the very least an entertaining performance'. The fight went on until Zuko started to firebend. That's when the guards came over. "No firebending, into the cooler!"

The guards took Zuko away and I went to talk with Sokka about the plan. 'I'll see what the plan is first before I tell him what I heard'.

(The melt down has started, if the evacuation isn't finished soon then we'll lose hundreds)

I had just caught up with Suki and Chit Sang as Sokka went to get Chit Sang. Chit Sang brought his girlfriend and best friend with him. I heard Sokka, Zuko and the cooler coming down the hill. Me, Chit Sang and Suki helped them get it down. "Took you guys long enough, this here is my girl and my best buddy, their coming too."

Sokka:"Fine, Everybody in the cooler, let's go."

We turned the cooler and slid it into the water. Sokka went to collect his stuff. "Are you sure you want to go, you're the one who said you wanted to redeem yourself, redeem your honor; rescuing your dad is your chance."

Suki:"Your dad?"

I whispered to her. "He got captured after the invasion."

Sokka:"If I had just cut my losses at the invasion maybe we wouldn't be in this mess; maybe sometimes it's just better to call it quits before you fail."

Zuko:"No it's not, look Sokka you're going to fail a lot before things work out..."

Sokka:"That's supposed to make me feel better?"

Zuko:"Even though you'll probably fail over and over and over again..."

Sokka:"Seriously not helping."

Zuko:"You have to try every time; you can't quit because you're afraid you might fail!"

You:"He is right Sokka; you must fail in order to succeed and try in order to even begin. And I don't know if this helps but one of the guards said that someone with a name similar to Hako was going to be on the gondola as a war prisoner; that's promising."

Chit Sang:"Hey if you guys are done cuddling can we get a move on?"

Sokka:"No I'm staying, you guys go, you've been here long enough."

Suki:"I'm not leaving without you Sokka."

Zuko:"I'm staying too."

You:"I can't let you go and get your self killed; I'd never hear the end of it."

Chit Sang:"Not me I'm out; let's roll baby."

He then pushed the cooler away and hopped in. "We gave up our only chance of escaping; I hope we haven't just made a huge mistake."

We started to make our way up the wall to the prison; It was a slow climb. When we were more than half way we heard Chit Sang scream and the alarm for the prison going off. 'He must've gotten impatient; idiot."

I could hear the yelling of the warden from here he was so mad. "The gondola's moving."

It was a really slow way to move. "This is it...If my dads not there we risked everything for nothing."

Suki:"We had to."

Sokka:"come on come on."

The first one stepped off. "Is that him?"

Sokka:"My dad doesn't have a nose ring."

Sokka:"Where is he?"

What seemed like the last one got off. 'I still sense another one onboard'. "That's it? That can't be it."

Suki:"I'm sorry Sokka."

Sokka:"Oh no."

Guard:"Hey you get off the gondola!"

The last prisoner then got off. "Dad."

Sokka ran up to the line up of other guards. I stayed out of sight and 'watched' as Hakoda disobeyed the warden. He was pushed to the ground and then tripped the warden; I had to suppress my laughter. "Get these prisoners out of my sight!!"

(The Time Skip is gonna blow, you only have 5 minutes left to evacuate lieutenant)

I was walking down the hallways trying to find any weak points for escaping. 'This place is definitely secure; the only thing I found of use is the filtration system, and I don't have enough knockout powder for the whole building'. I turned the corner and bumped into two guards. "The warden wants to see you."

You:"What for?"

Guard2:"We didn't ask; it's just important is all."

I sighed and followed them. 'This can't be good'. We reached the top of the outer wall where several other guards were lined up without helmets; and Sokka was there too. "Put him in the line up."

Warden:"One of you is an imposter who thought he could fool me; but now that person is going to be in a lot of trouble."

They brought over Chit Sang. 'Now I get it, He must've been forced to tell who helped him'. "Who is it?"

Unlike Sokka, who was shaking in his boots, I knew Chit Sang wouldn't rat us out...if only to try and escape again. "That's him warden; he's the imposter."

Chit Sang had gotten revenge on that BullyGuard, by pointing him out. "What?...I am not; he's lying, He's a lier!"

After the Guard was taken away Sokka pulled me to the side; to tell me the new plan. "Use the gondola, are you insane?"

Sokka:"No it'll work, trust me."

You:"Have you even figured out how to capture the warden?"

Sokka:"It's a work in progress, got to go."

I sighed. 'He's an idiot'.

I followed the plan and made sure the guards weren't near the warden so no one would suspect anything when Sokka released the prisoners into the courtyard. I met up with the others as the riot was starting. I looked at Chit Sang making all the commotion. "Impressive."

You:"I think we just discovered his talent."

I then heard another prisoner next to me. "Forgot about controlling my anger; let's riot!"

He then got tackled. We back up to one of the walls to keep away form the fighting. Zuko came up to us a minute later. "Zuko good we're all here; now all we have to do is grab the warden and get to the gondolas."

Zuko:"And how do we do that?"

Sokka:"I'm not sure."

You:"He wasn't planning this part apparently; I thought you said it was a work in progress, where is the progress?!"

Zuko:"Grrh, I thought you thought this through!"

Sokka:"I thought you told me it's ok not to think everything through?!"

Zuko:"Maybe not everything, but this is kind of important!"

I just facepalmed. "Hey...uh...fellas, I think your girlfriend is taking care of it."

We turned and 'saw' Suki running on top of the crowds heads and up to the balcony where the warden was. She then knocked out the guards in her way and tied up the warded with his own clothes. We were running to catch up with her; well the others ran, I just hopped up to her position. "We've got the wardens; now let's get out of here."

They were panting. "That's some girl."

Sokka:"Tell me about it."

I just shook my head. "You guys really need to run more if your already winded."

We started running to the gondola taking out Guards along the way. When we were closing in I could hear the fighting calming down. "We're almost there!"

Zuko has to engage the few Guards at the gondola; but they backed off when they saw the warden. The other started to board the gondola. "Zuko go ahead I'll catch up, I need to stall them first."

He got the message and I destroyed the lever that could stop or start the gondola; I then blew the Guards in the vicinity away. After that was taken care of I grabbed my satchel and threw it at Zuko, who caught it. I then used airbending to propel myself to the gondola. "What were you doing?"

You:"Making so they can't stop us the easy way."

Sokka:"Way to think ahead."

Suki:"We're on our way."

Hakoda:"Wait, who's that?"

I could sense more people on the gondola platform. 'Oh great Azula and Ty lee'. "That's a problem; it's my sister and her friend."

Ty lee and Azula then started making their way towards us. Ty lee was running on the wire and Azula was propelling forward with firebending. This is a rematch I've been waiting for."

Zuko:"Me too."

You:"I've actually got a score to settle with Ty lee as well."

We got up onto the roof just before they arrived. Me and Suki vs Ty lee. Sokka and Zuko vs Azula. I let Suki fight for the most part; but then she back off and nodded to me. I nodded back and charged in. Ty lee tried to go for chest and arms; but I ducked and kicked her into the air. She attempted to hit my neck; but I just grabbed her arm and slammed her onto the gondola. She was about to go for me again, until a blast of Azula's fire blocked her. 'I can use that. I bent the fire using air bending and trapped her in a wall of flames. But then I heard the warden. "Cut the line!"

I felt the gondola shake from them stopping it without the lever. I was able to stay balanced but had to stop the wall of fire. With Ty lee free she could see the Guards about to cut the line. "They're about to cut the line!"

I could hear the other gondola coming. 'They'll escape'. "Then it's time to leave; good by Zuko."

With them gone we hopped back inside. "They're cutting the line; the gondola's about to go!"

Hakoda:"I hope this thing floats."

A couple minutes later we were moving again. All thanks to a figure on the platform. "Who is that?"

Zuko:"It's Mei!"

Once we docked on the other platform we immediately bolted. "Well we made it out, now what?"

Zuko stopped to look back. "Zuko what are you doing?!"

Zuko:"My sister was on that island."

'She must have a airship'. "Yeah and she's probably right behind us; so let's not stop!"

Zuko:"What I mean is she must've come here somehow."

He walked up the cliff a bit. "There, that's our way out of here."

'I knew it would have to be a airship; only the best after all'. We got on board and started in the direction of the western air temple. About half way there I grabbed the note from my bag and my gilder. I walked up to Hakoda and gave him the paper since we were both far enough from the others. "Can you give this to the others? I have somewhere I need to go and I can't put them in anymore danger than they are already in. This is personal and they have the Fire Lord to deal with."

He took the paper and looked right at me. "I understand what you mean; but are you sure you know what you're doing? Once you leave it could be a long time before you find us again."

I 'looked' down. "I know, but I have somebody to protect now, and I can't let her get hurt."

He nodded. "Then go; on a ship this big the others won't notice till you are long gone."

You:"Thank you."

I then jumped over the railing and took off towards the Earth kingdom. 'I am so very dead when I get back'.

(The Time Skip has exploded 120 lives were lost in the blast; but 230 were saved)

The airship docked at the western air temple; Sokka and Zuko got off. "What are you doing in this thing? What happened to the war ballon?"

Zuko:"It kind of got destroyed."

Aang:"Sounds like a crazy fishing trip."

Toph:"Did you at least get some good meat?"

Sokka:"I did, the best meat of all, the meat of friendship and fatherhood."

Then Suki Chit Sang and Hakoda got off. "I'm new, what's up everybody."

Katara:"Dad."

Hakoda:"Hi Katara."

Katara:"How are you here? What's going on? Where did you go?"

Sokka:"We kind of went to a fire nation prison."

Toph:"Wait, where's (y/n)?"

Sokka:"Is he still on the ship?"

Hakoda sighed. "He actually left a few hours ago; and he gave me this for you guys."

Zuko:"Why didn't you stop him?"

Hakoda:"He told me it was to protect you all; and it was a personal mission."

Katara took the letter and started to read it aloud. "I know you all will want to go with me so I had this letter made to explain why you can't. I am being hunted, and I have a pretty good idea of who it is. If it is him then he will want Aang after he gets me; so while I'm near you and he's around you all aren't safe. I will try and deal with this quick but I won't let you all get hurt by trying to help me; Aang has to deal with the Fire Lord so this would only waste precious time that we don't have. I hope you'll all understand eventually. Until we meet again.

P.S. this took quite a few coins to keep the writer from rating on me."

Toph:"I'm gonna kill that idiot."

You could tell she was holding back a tear or two by the way she down cast her eyes. "It was nice he was think of us; but we should be there for him."

Katara:"Hey Toph there's a note on the back for you. It says have Katara or Zuko read this to Toph in private."

Zuko:"I remember helping him write something on the back of a paper; I didn't know it was for this."
