Roy was frozen as Johnny hurried to the car door. "Roy! Roy help me get this open!" He didn't move. The sounds were muffled and he seemed to be lost in his own thoughts.
I should have called sooner. I should have driven her to work. Why? Why her? Why her?
"DeSoto why don't you go check on the other car ok?" Hank said realizing the situation. "Uh Cap" Mike whispered "The other victim is... Doctor Brackett..."
Cap, though suprised, thought a while longer on his decision but then shook his head "It'll still be better for him" the Captain whispered back.
Roy trotted over to the car letting his training guide him and take over. He must have still looked shocked as he approached because Chet asked "Hey man what's wrong?"
Roy stared for a moment trying to register what he'd said. "Uh... it's uhh.... Genevieve." He wanted to give up after that sentence but managed to push ahead. "What's up with this victim."
Chet Kelly shook his head in disbelief "We know 'em both! It's Kell Brackett. Not too bad though" the fireman stepped aside to let Roy examine his friend.
"Can you hear me? Doc?" Kelly could hear someone calling him again. A different voice. R-roy?" "Yeah"
For a moment the doctor thought it was all a dream. A bad dream about his accident before. But what about the change in voices? Who was here earlier? Kelly Brackett could think but he knew he'd talked to someone and it wasn't Johnny.
"Just relax. Everything is gonna be fine. I'll be right back." Roy ducked back out of the car and ran for the radio. "Johnny! Do you need the radio yet?" Gage quickly shook his head making Roy more anxious than before. He grabbed the radio and went back to Dr. Brackett.
"Uh Rampart this is squad 51 how do you read me?" "We read you loud and clear 51"
"Rampart we have two victims of a car accident. Victim number one is female approximate age 25. Unconcious. We have not been able to fully see her condition or take vitals. She's still trapped in the car." "51 how long will it take till you can have more info on victim one?"
Roy looked up his partner. "It won't be long." I hope DeSoto added silently. "Victim two is male. Vitals to follow-"

Johnny had reached his injured friend after what seemed like years. Genevieve was covered in shards of glass and pressed against the steering wheel. Where the front end had smashed into the pole, it looked like it had pinned her leg down but Gage wasn't sure.
He started checking her pulse, respirations, Bp. He noticed with dismay that he couldn't check her pupils due to the amount of glass around her eyes. John knew Ginger shouldn't but he would give anything to see those pretty blue eyes open again.
Just as he was turning to ask Roy for the radio, Gage heard a soft whimper. His head snapped around. Genevieve lightly rolled her head from one side to the other. "Ginger? Genevieve can you hear me?"
Genevieve's eyelids fluttered slightly as she tried to open them. "No! No Genevieve dont. You have glass around your eyes. Now I don't want you to open them ya hear?" She nodded slowly. "What...what happened" Ginger's voice was barely a whisper. "You've been in a car accident"
She whimpered again. "Where's the pain?" "Umm... I- I think my head and... my arm..." "What about your back or your neck?" "No" Johnny checked anyway "Alright your leg?" She hesitated for a little too long which gave her away. "Is it pinned?" "I don't know... everything is just... numb"
"Cap!" John called "Cap why don't we try an' get her out of here and then treat her" Stanley gave a small nod "Whatever you think is best"
"Ok we're gonna get you out now alright? Just tell us if your hurt anywhere" John gently took her hand and let Captain Stanley hold her wrist straight and steady. He started to pull Genevieve out of the car when she let out shriek. "Stop! Stop!" "Ok just-" "Oh gosh it's pinned!" She sobbed.
Gage pursed his lips and stroked her hair a little. Ginger's eyes fluttered again but he reminded her to keep them closed. She's probably already got quite a bit of glass in her eyes.
