"You're working really hard for that chick," the blond snickered, scoffing when his friend's palm found his arm for a scolding smack.
"Sanghee is like a sister to me. And this is the least I can do. It's not her fault that she's blind," the black-haired one rebottled, taking a fork-full of his meal as he sat on an empty bench on their construction site. The green vest hugging his torso was dirty; dusty, but that did in no way stop said man from collecting an escaped piece of sausage from the cloth. "I just have to work a few more weeks and then I'd have enough for the surgery," he chewed, "I want to surprise her with the good news for her birthday."
"Well she's lucky to have you, Changbin," the co-worker patted the named man's back, chuckling when Changbin shrugged him off. "It must be hard renting for the both of you, plus saving up for her surgery. Don't the relatives help at all?"
"When we first met, they were hardly even spending time with her," Changbin paused, appetite dulling, "I had to set them straight, and when we grew closer, I asked that we just rent together. So they help with the rent, and a small fraction of the savings, yes. It's better than nothing, am I right?"
"As long as you're not working yourself out too much, Seo. Just because you voluntarily took her as your responsibility, it really doesn't mean you have to keep up if it's too much. She's still a total stranger if you think-"
"Chan, stop it," Changbin glared in the blond's direction, uncomfortable, "We've known each other for years now, and lived under the same roof for one. I'm a grown, responsible man. I take what I can handle."
"Okay then," Chan stood up, stretching and shaking either of his feet to loosen his boots some, "But it's clear that you like her."
"What?"
"You're falling in love with the blind girl, Seo," he winked, "And I think you know that."
