watchers on the wall

on, Robb and Sam stood on their posts as the only form of light was emanating from the fire. Robb had not even hesitated to fight alongside his brother, it was where he wanted to be. Side by side with his brother as their father would have wanted them to be.

"The interesting thing is our vows never specifically forbade intimate relations with women." Sam spoke out of deep thought.

As both brothers turned their head their expressions contrasted one another. Where Jon was dazed and confused, Robb chuckled as Sam's statement. "What?"

"I shall take no wife, that's in there, no denying that." Sam explained "I shall father no children, very specific but what do our vows say about other activities. It's left rather open ended." He hinted

Jon and Robb looked to him incredibly amused "I don't think Commander Alliser cares much for interpretation of our vows Sam."

Sam shrugs continuing the banter "There's nothing for him to interpret. We didn't, so what's it like?"

Robb remained quiet as he looked to Jon to answer. Even still as men , his brother managed to get pale and flustered when it came to a womans body "It's like there's this person... this whole other person and you're wrapped up in you and ... in them" As Jon explained Robb stiffled his laugh much to the displeasure of his brother, in turn both Sam and Robb bellowed out laughter "Well ,I don't know. I'm not a bleeding poet."

"No, you're not."

Robb recognized the look on Jons' face as he stared off acorss the wall. It was the same look he had on his face the second he saw Joanna. "Who is she?" he asked his brother

"What?" Jon turned to him

"I recognize that look anywhere. It's a girl, isn't it? This whole other person you mentioned."

"I suppose so... but it's more complicated than you think." Jon replied and no one more than Robb understood what he meant. "She'll be the one to shoot an arrow through me tonight."

The realization hit Robb as he placed a hand on his brothers shoulder "Did she make you happy?"

"Yes. More than I had been in so long but none of that matters because I betrayed her and now she plans to give my head to Mance Raider. I chose my duty above her."

"And I chose love above my duty." Robb guiltily answered as they remained quiet again. Both brothers understanding that duty was the death of love and love the death of duty. Both lost the women they love because of their choices but there was no other way. After all they were the sons of Eddard Stark- their honour was what they stood for, but Robb had to ask himself was it all worth it if they both lost the ones they loved.

The battle horns sounded alarm as Robb felt a rush of adrenaline that he long had forgotten. He and Jon marched to the edge of the wall of the castle as they looked down at forests burning for miles on end. Beneath the shadows of trees stood more Wildlings than he could ever have imagined. He turned to face his brother as both respectfully nodded to one another - praying this wouldn't be the last time one another see each other.

Jon left as Robb could feel his heart racing. He looked to his left as he realized he did not have his battalion anymore. There was no Shae, no Theon and no Joanna, as he gripped the handle of Ice, he reminded himself who he was and to what he was capable of. Seeing the fire stretch , the red wedding played over his mind.

Only this time he didn't feel its fear, seeing fire, thinking of how Walder Frey slaughtered his bannermen, only angered him more. The sight of fire making his hand jitter as the coldness of his sword sent a shiver down his spine. He wasn't scared anymore, he was furious.

He looked over his shoulder to Jon who spoke with Commander Alliser, seeing his brother , knowing he'd fight alongside Jon, he felt something that he thought had died out. He was ready to fight - but not only that he would draw blood to protect Jon.

Hundreds of Wildlings ran towards the walls, pitches of fire lighting from down under but not only that. Robb noticed things out of the stories old Nan told them.

Of giants and beasts larger than life as they ran. There was nothing quite like a war. It's not until your armies march towards one another that you realize there's no more prayers left, no hiding and cowering. The only way to end it was to battle through.

"ARCHERS NOCH, EVERYONE ELSE PULL!" Commander Alliser commanded, after a barrel accidentally fell did Robb realize how out of their wits some of these men were, how this would be some of the boys' first battle.

Before Commander Alliser could command again they heard the pitch of ice breaking as Robb looked down below to see hundred of Wildlings storming the wall. Fire arrows shooting rapidly as the closed to the gates. Robb held his shield up as he saw fire arrows being shot back.

He backed further when the screams and groans on the men of the nightswatch were in his ear as the arrows pierced through their skin. Looking over his shield as he noticed a red haired woman shooting at them.

"THEY'RE ATTACKING THE SOUTHERN GATE!" a commander warned as he run up to Commander Alliser.

As Alliser left Jon and Robb shared one last glance. Robb marched down below but felt a tug on his arm. Turning back to face Jon as the hoards of Wildling and their calls near deafened them "Where are you going?!" Jon yelled

"To the courtyard! That's where they'll hit first! Stay on the wall and take down as many from down under, if you can get enough outside the wall then defending inside the castle won't be too hard!"

Robb pulled his arm away as he marched towards the courtyard. There men stood with swords and shields but the look on their faces was as though death had already welcomed them. Unsheathing Ice he walked in between the nightswatch as Commander Alliser and his men turned to face him

"You fighting for us boy?!" Alliser commented to which only Robb smirked "Brothers!" Alliser faced his men with Robb Stark by his side

"BROTHERS A HUNDRED GENERATIONS OF MEN HAVE DEFENDED THE CASTLE. WE'VE NEVER FALLEN BEFORE AND YOU WILL NOT FALL TONIGHT! THOSE ARE THENNS BEYOND THOSE WALLS! THEY EAT THE FLESH OF MEN THEY KILL! DO YOU WANT TO FILL THE BELLY OF A THENN TONIGHT?! TONIGHT WE FIGHT AND WHEN THE SUNRISES I PFROMISE YOU CASTLE BLACK STAND! THE NIGHTSWATCH WILL STAND!"

The doors broke down as swarms of Wildlings attacked them. As they got closer he welcomed Ice like an old friend as his sword cut through armies of men.

The wildlings fought wild and quick but he quicker. A wildling approached him with a ranger knife, its blade longer than his head. As he stormed to Robb, he ducked as the blade missed his head, turning back as Ice cut through his back to the bone as the knife was released. Robb grabbed it and speared both knife and sword through his eyes, blood splattering to his feet.

He ran alongside the nightswatch men as both sword and knife in hand, his face seeped in blood of men who attempted to attack. The more they cut, the more came through the wall.

Robb held his weapons tightly as he stormed to the gates, hissing as a few blades managed to cut on his arm but never deep. A wildling taller than the mountain broke through the gates with eyes set on Robb. The two staring off at one another.

His long bladed knives swinging upward and sideway as Robb avoided their cut. Their strokes fast and aggressive as he delivered another swing to Robb to which his sword kissed the blade of his.

He wanted to force his weight upon Robb, but Robb stood his grown as his boots dug into the ground refusing to lower his position. The wildlings growing agitated knocked his forehead against Robbs to create separation. Robb back as he felt a crack on his forehead as blood seeped over his face.

He stood his ground, the wildlings arm swatting the knife again but Robb ducked crossing his sword and ranger knife across one another as they shielded his head.

The blades kissed against each other again as Robb could feel his blood down his neck. He released the blades as his sword struck through the wildlings eye. He screamed as he lowered to his knee. An bloodied hand grabbed Robb by the neck as he felt him gasp for air, with all his strength he took his sword and thrust it through the wildlings neck and finally the heart.

The wildlings cries of pain drowning as he choked on blood falling to the ground.

As Jon and his men were lowered down the chaos that ensued the courtyard. He recognized one in particular. His defences and strikes all to familiar as he knew that was the training by Eddard Stark himself.

Jon took in a deep breath as he entered the courtyard immediately fighting through wildlings attacks. He duck and strike whoever crossed his path. The bloodcurdling cries of men was all thought could be heard as blood splattered the white snow. Robb held his shield above him as arrows were shot through the sky.

There weren't many left but those who were harder to fight off. His body aching as the blood on his face had dried, he turned to see Jon fall to his knees with a woman in arms - that's when he knew it was finally over.

Turning back to approach his brother , a cry of war came from a wildling charging towards him but his cry cut quiet as an arrow shot straight through from the back of his head through his face, he fell to his knees as he looked up to see a man a top of the stairs with a crossbow nodding to him.

Robb stood his ground as the archer pulled on his chin , his skin pulling off like a mask to reveal the bloodied face of Bayla

It was all over now.
