GHOSTFACE IS BACK?
( chapter 1 — woodsboro highschool )

CHARLOTTE BECKER HAD A COUSIN, ABIGAIL BECKER. Growing up, Lottie's mother (Nichole Becker) had two sisters, Lisa and Casey Becker, both of whom died. Abi didn't have anywhere to live; just like Lottie's, her father had left, specifically after her mother died. Abi ended up living with her cousin and her only living aunt.

Abigail Becker walked into the grounds of Woodsboro High School after spending the night visiting her cousin in the hospital. As she walked close to the tables her friends sat at, they all immediately spotted her, finishing their conversations and waiting for her to come closer and explain everything. She was one of the only ones who knew about Charlotte and Tara's conditions (and want bad happened). The group had all planned on skipping school to visit Tara in the morning, though they were turned away, saying only family could visit at the time. The group ended up going to school; knowing they could get details from Abigail.

It had only been a few hours since the girl's attack, though they had been through multiple life-saving surgeries. It was, in fact, obvious that neither Tara Carpenter nor Charlotte Becker were okay. It was lucky they even survived the night. Lottie suffered from a concussion and was lucky enough to survive a severed femoral artery. She was stabbed three times and was able to survive it. Tara was stabbed seven times and was even luckier; it was a miracle that they both survived, specifically Tara.

The Ghostface, a masked killer, had been around for years. It was first around when Billy Loomis and Stu Macher killed some teenagers; Gale Weathers wrote a book on it; then there was a movie, Stab. From then on, many movies had been made. Every few years, some idiot decides to make their own movie, killing more people. Even after the many past attacks, it was still a shock to everyone that the wannabe killer had returned, attacking their group for no reason at all.

"Attention, Panthers. A reminder that all classes and school activities are cancelled due to public safety concerns." The voice of the principal announced to the school. If Lottie were here, she would be annoyed; she loved soccer so much and would hate that it got cancelled. The same repeated voice message had been playing all day; it was lunch, and Abigail had only just arrived (but she had heard it twice already).

At the picnic tables, everyone (except for Chad and Liv) were sitting down, staring at the girl who had most of the information. "She's coming?" Amber asked Wes, who just got off the phone. Everyone had accepted the fact that Abi wouldn't tell them anything.

"Yeah." Wes replied, Wes had recently dyed his hair blonde, though that's not the point. Wes Hicks was the kindest person Abigail had met; he would always be the first one to inform the group of any community news. (Due to the fact his mother was the Sheriff, Sheriff Judy Hicks.) Abigail was lucky enough to call him her boyfriend.

"Watch everything get worse," Amber complained in a rude tone. Amber had never liked Sam (Tara's sister, whom Wes was calling). Abigail shot her best friend a deadly glare, which Amber dismissed.

Amber Freeman had been a lot ruder lately, especially since the breakup. "I think Sam could make things better," Abu spoke up, trying to dismiss whatever Amber was trying to suggest. The Freeman girl rolled her eyes in response. When did Abigail start caring about her cousin and Tara?

"I'm just saying, with everything going on, I think it's time we take our relationship to the next, most intimate level." A voice spoke as it came closer to the group. Abigail looked up to see it was Chad Meeks Martin. The boy had his arm wrapped around his pink-haired girlfriend. The two were having quite an interesting conversation as they walked to the tables. Although it sounded odd, each person sitting there kind of wanted to know more. Weird!

Everyone eyed the couple, signalling that they wanted to hear more. Noticing this, Liv McKenzie began to talk: "He wants me to accept his Find-My-Fam request." She explained. They all frowned, wondering why Chad would want that. As soon as the masked killer comes back to Woodsboro, it seems suspicious. Another suspect to add to the list (in Abigail's mind)

Chad quickly went to defend himself, not wanting to be accused of being the killer. "It's the safest move with a would-be killer on the loose! I know where you are; you know where I am," Chad said to his girlfriend (though he intended for everyone  to hear). Abi giggled. Although Liv was new to the group, Abigail and Liv had worked together for the past few months (even before the girl and Chad got together). Even though Liv McKenzie could be a great pain, she loved the relationship Liv and Chad had; she thought they were adorable.

"Aw, you can stalk me like a jealous boyfriend," Liv teased her boyfriend, a small smile forming on her face, staring at Chad. Chad turned his attention away from the group and back to his girlfriend.

"You can stalk me like a jealous boyfriend," Chad mocked jokingly, repeating what she just said while also pointing his finger around to signify it was a joke (sometimes Liv didn't know when things were a joke or not, and when she got mad, she would get very mad!).

Amber made a gagging sound before speaking, "Is this because you two aren't having sex yet?" She asked. This made the couple stop laughing. Chad froze, a smirk forming on his face. It had been a known fact for the past month that Chad very much did want to have sex with Liv, though she did not feel the same way.

"You actually bring up a very good point. Not that I want to sound like a stereotypical jock trying to get into his girlfriend's pants-. Chad started but quickly got cut off by Liv (who clearly wanted to stop this discussion).

"Great!" She cut him off, grabbing his chin, and gave him a small kiss.

Wes then joined the conversation, finding it a great time to give them advice (which they won't be using): "Don't do it, Liv; there's a psycho out there. Make yourself harder to find. Delete social media, tape over your phone camera, and disable GPS," he told Liv, though really he was telling the whole group (this was a speech from his mom, which she had insisted he should share). Wes looked around the group, noticing everyone was not agreeing, except for Abigail, who gave him a small smile (to show she supported him).

"Ah yes, thank you, Edward Snowden. By the way, your mom just asked me if I was involved in Tara and Charlotte's attempted murder, so that was fun." Chad informed the boy, making everyone look over at Wes' mom. She tipped her hat towards the group, specifically her son, and in return, Wes gave her a small nod. Judy turned back, continuing her conversation with the person she was talking to.

"I'm sure she's asking everybody." He stated, trying to defend his mom (who could be a bit too much sometimes). "I mean, ghostface is back," he added.

"The press still isn't saying Ghostface." Mindy corrected them, but it didn't make anyone feel better (as Tara already told the police that it was a ghost face).

"Mom doesn't want to cause a panic." Wes explained, though It didn't stop anyone from feeling stressed; they are already aware that it is a new ghost face—it could be any of them!

Mindy Meeks Martin stared at the boy and spoke, "It'll get out. It always gets out by the second or third killing." Mindy remarked, everyone immediately frowned at her.

"Stuff you, Mindy." Abigail breathed out (causing Wes to laugh; he loved the fact she refused to swear!). She didn't like this. She didn't like the fact that her own cousin and her friend almost got killed or that more people could get killed. It was horrible.

"Fuck Mindy!" Chad yelled at this twin, also hating that he could lose any one of his friends at any moment. Abi took some deep breaths, pulling out her phone. She had to go to school, so she had left her alcoholic aunt to look after Lottie and Tara. Nichole Becker had promised hourly updates, though Abigail had yet to receive one. 'Any updates?' She texted, putting her phone away, before listening to the Meeks Martin girl again. Mindy went on and talked more about how Tara and Lottie could still die, making everyone get defensive. Mindy also joked around about how the ghostface could come back for the two girls. No one found it funny.

"Can you please tell your sister to stop talking?" Liv asked her boyfriend; she didn't like the current conversation (which didn't seem to be ending); everyone else agreed with her; almost everyone nodded their heads. Mindy needed to either shut up or think about what she was going to say. Which was not possible for her.

"I'm just saying something's different this time." Mindy continued, even after what Liv had just said.

"Something different or not, Tara and Lottie almost died, and it's serious, Mindy; you shouldn't joke about it." Abi added, hoping that maybe Mindy will be quiet. Everyone stared at her, wanting to know more information on the girl's situation. She just shook her head. It was up to Tara and Charlotte to tell them the details.

Silence filled the area, also known as another opportunity for Wes to help everyone. "I'm telling you, arm up. Pepper spray. check.  Taser? Check," Wes filled the silence., trying to change the conversation slightly but also making sure everyone would be safe.

As always, the boy was interrupted by Amber. "Girlfriend repellent? Check." She joked, which made Abigail giggle; she was finding it so funny that the group still believed her and Wes were single (they had been dating for 2 months and no one knew). Chad and Liv also joined in the giggle.

Liv's smile immediately dropped as she looked at someone in the distance. "Holy shit, is that Vince?" Liv randomly spoke (not to anyone in particular), looking at a much older guy leaning against a car. He had dark hair, a moustache, and a few tattoos. Vince was staring directly at Liv. He was a creepy man from the looks of it. "Yeah, he worked with Tara and me. He's been stalking my Instagram the last few weeks, saying creepy shit." Liv informed the group (everyone was confused).

"He worked with Tara?" Amber inquired, while Mindy took a secret photo of the guy. It seemed like evidence, or he could be a suspect for the girl's attack (another name for Abigail's imaginary list). Either way, taking a photo seemed to make Mindy happy.  On the other hand, it was obvious that he was making Liv was making her feel uncomfortable, and she wanted to change the subject.

Chad gave the man a deadly glare before looking down at his arms. "I think it's time to introduce him to Hobbs and Shaw." He remarked, referring to his muscles; he puffed out his chest and flexed his muscles to seem threatening. (Though everyone knew Chad wouldn't hurt a fly).

"Maybe it is not the best idea to incite violence in front of the Sheriff?" Liv told Chad, grabbing hold of her boyfriend's arm. "It looks like he's leaving anyway." She added, after Vince gave her a small air, he circled the car he was leaning on, opening the door and hoping into it. Finally, he was finished being creepy.

Liv removed her arm from Chad to reveal bruises on his arms. Chad winced in pain, causing the group's eyes to fall onto him, including his twin (who gave him a suspicious glare) "Hm. Tara said she fought back hard. You've got bruises." Amber stated, accusing Chad. Abi thought about it. Chad always had a crush on Charlotte, and he wouldn't hurt anyone; he wouldn't be a suspect.

"Amber, Chad wouldn't hurt anyone, so he isn't the killer," Abi informed her best friend, getting an angry look from the girl (Abigail definitely isn't on her good side anymore!). "Well, technically, it isn't a killer; no one was killed, but still, Chad didn't do it." She added.

"Yet. And you know, there are always two killers." Amber smirked, accusing her best friend of being the attacker.

"Actually, Roman Bridger was a singular killer" Mindy added in. No one cared though.

"It's from football practice." Chad explained, defending himself against whatever Amber was suggesting. "And Abigail also wouldn't hurt anyone; I mean, have you seen her? I think she would get sad if she killed a bug! It's not either of us." Chad stated, giving his friend a small smile.

"Thanks Chad" Abigail mouthed to Chad, he gave her a smile to say, 'You're welcome.'

"Tara's awake; she just texted." Wes announced, looking up from his phone. This helped stop an argument that was about to break out between the group. "I'm going to the hospital." Wes remarked, getting up. Everyone followed behind him except for Liv. Liv was being suspicious.

"I can't, but I'll meet you later." Liv darted as Chad kissed her goodbye. It looked suspicious, though Liv and Tara were close; Liv wouldn't hurt Tara. She quickly caught Abi's attention before she walked away. "I know I haven't really met your cousin properly, but tell her that I hope she is okay," Liv said. Abigail nodded her head, watching Liv walk off.

Abi turned to face the group one more time before leaving for her car. "I just wanted to let you know Lottie might not talk to you guys; she isn't talking to anyone right now, and I definitely don't think she will talk to you." She finished, they all nodded and went their separate ways.

Finally, Abi took out her phone to text Lottie. 'So my group is coming to visit Tara, sorry' she sent, and the 'read' message appeared below it.

Okay so basically I am so excited to write Wes and Via's (UPDATE: Abi's) relationship before Wes dies and whatever happens to via (UPDATE: Abi) (😏🫣) happens. I struggle so much with enemy to lovers for Lottie and Chad so I'm going to have to figure that out soon.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter, if definitely is not my best and I might end up rewriting it

(UPDATE: my past writing was horrific so I'm very glad to be fixing this. This chapter the updates are: rewriting/adding detail, I've also chnaged the character of Lottie's cousin completely. Also editing this chapter was kinda hard ngl so I don't know if it's even that good)
