Welcome everyone to chapter 8 of Bleach Characters' React to Death Battle. With me again is my partner and cowriter, Kaizokuoniiorewanaru.

Today, the Bleach crew gets to watch Leo fight Zitz the Battle Toad. Before we head further, let's introduce today's guest, Rukia.

Rukia: *bows as she comes in* "Hello there, everyone."

Greetings Rukia. Thank you for dropping by.

Rukia: "Yes. Always a pleasure."

Now then, Rukia. If you would say the disclaimer, please.

Rukia: "The disclaimer~"

...Very funny.

(Smacks Rukia over the head) Do it properly, or we'll be taken down.

Rukia: "Okay, fine! These two do not own the characters, the concept, or the show the characters are watching. They only own the story."

Thank you Rukia. Now let's get onto the story.

Chapter 8: Reptile and Amphibian; Zitz VS Leonardo

Ichigo was rubbing his forehead after that last fight. Yuzu looked to her older brother, and asked, "Do you want to take a break?"

"I'm fine," Ichigo tells them. "Let's just get the episode done with."

Karin just shrugged and hit play.

(Cues: Invader - Jim Johnston)

"Last time on DEATH BATTLE!, the Ninja Turtles battled to find the deadliest of the team, and good old Leo used cunning strategy and swordplay to come out on top," Boomstick explained last episode.

Ichigo took a calming breath. "It's okay, Ichigo." Yuzu assured.

"I'm fine. Really." Ichigo said to Yuzu, rubbing her head.

"We're all here for you if you need it," Orihime stated, comforting him.

"Yeah man, you got us," Keigo stated, serious.

Chad and Mizuiro nodded in agreement.

"... Thanks guys," Ichigo thanked them.

"But the fight isn't over yet," Wiz explained. "Leonardo must now face his most powerful imitator: Zitz, the leader of the mighty Battletoads."

"... What kind of a name is Zitz...?" Karin and Tatsuki asked in a deadpan voice.

"He's Wiz and I'm Boomstick." Boomstick introduced.

"And it's our job to analyze their weapons, armor, and skills to find out who would win a Death Battle." Wiz declared.

The first contestant is the Toad that has been mentioned. He's a human sized, anthropomorphic toad with bluish green skin and he appears to be wearing thick gloves, a belt and knee pads. Standing next to him are two other Battletoads that appear to be his teammates; one has lighter shade of green and is wearing a pair of dark shades while the other looks bigger and more muscular with brownish skin.

ZITZ

(Cues Battletoads & Double Dragon - Main Theme)

"Zitz was computer engineered as one of three amphibian warriors in a gladitorial video game reality show called Battletoads." Wiz began.

"Video game reality show? Which is it, a show or a video game? Or is it even both!?" Keigo exclaimed.

"I think it's both," Mizuiro stated. "I think it's like those video game tournaments that have been becoming more popular recently." (A/N 1)

"... Huh... That sounds cool," Orihime stated, thinking of looking into it.

"This accidentally opened a dimensional gateway to another galaxy," Wiz continued. "Every time the game began, the galaxy became the Battletoad arena for their superhero war against the Dark Queen and they-"

Those that weren't as smart as Wiz blinked and ask, "What...?"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, what!?" Boomstick shouted in confusion.

"Three nerds made a video game, got sucked through it into another galaxy, and became toad superheroes," Wiz simplified.

"Okay, makes sense." Karin shrugged.

"How in the world does that make any kind of sense!?" Chizuru shouted.

"K, got it!" Boomstick stated.

BACKGROUND

"Zitz was originally yellow, to differentiate him from Rash, but he is now officially a blue-green hue. He leads the Battletoad team with a laid back yet strategic attitude." Wizard said.

"Strategy is fine but laid back not so much." Rukia commented, since she is serious... most of the time.

"He chooses to go with my personal favorite battle strategy, beat the shit out of everything that moves!" Boomstick exclaimed excitedly.

"I don't see that as a strategy at all..." Uryu stated flatly, fixing his glasses.

"It works for me..." Ichigo muttered quietly.

SHAPE-SHIFTING

Can Transform Body into Weaponry

Giant Fists, Boots, Horns, Hammer, Weights, etc.

Technologically Advanced

Added Drills, Blades, Saws, Spikes and Dozers

"And as a Battletoad, Zitz can shape shift his body into various weaponry: Giant fists, heavy weights, ram horns, you name it," Boomstick added.

"Unlike his teammates, Zitz has used his inventive genius to mechanically advance his weaponry far beyond those of his fellow toads. By combining technology and brawn, Zitz has added blades, saws and drills to his arsenal." Wiz added.

"Damn, that's one packin' toad." Keigo whistled.

"Reminds me of a certain creepy scientist." Rukia muttered to herself.

Uryu groans, remembering him.

"... Do I dare asked...?" Karin asked.

"No... No you do not..." Rukia stated.

"This guy could be the world's best handyman, if he always wasn't getting sucked into an alternate dimension every time someone turned on a video game," Boomstick stated.

"That would get annoying after a while..." Keigo stated, not wanting to think of that.

"Despite almost having no actual combat training, Zitz has proved strong enough to power through some of the toughest games ever made. And yes, the games excruciating difficulty is canon as it was specifically programmed by the Battletoads themselves." Wiz notified.

"I find it ironic that they're playing a hard challenge that they made, what a bunch of idiots." Karin mocked.

"Yes, but I'm more worried that Zitz doesn't have any actual combat training, since he's just a kid being a virtually made superhero." Chizuru added.

Rukia nodded, "Agreed, Leonardo might outsmart him and it will definitely leave him frustrated on what to do."

"Yeah, try and wrap your brain around that one." Boomstick dared.

"I'm a big bad mother of all toads!" Zitz exclaimed as he hopped around the battlefield.

"... I don't know if that was a good catchphrase or not..." Karin stated, thinking.

"It might have sounded cooler if the voice was cooler," Ishinn stated.

LEONARDO

(Cues: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987) - Main Theme (Rock/Metal Cover))

"We briefly covered his abilities last episode, but there's plenty more to Leonardo," Wiz explained.

BACKGROUND

Height: 5'3"

Weight: 180 lbs

Master of Ninjitsu, Bushido, and Swordsmanship

Leader and Stratagist

Skilled in Using Environment

Favorite Color: Blue. Duh.

"He's trained in Ninjitsu and Bushido all his life, shaping his body and mind to master close combat, swordsmanship, honor and the art of invisibility." Wiz described.

Rukia was impressed. "I can respect him for that." She then added in her head. 'He'd make a good Soul Reaper...'

"He's also the strategist of the turtle team," Boomstick added, "who are now all dead... Sooo... yeah."

Everyone looked flatly at the screen.

"Leonardo is especially skilled in the use of environment to outsmart and outmaneuver an opponent." Wiz continued.

'Similar to Yoruichi and Captain Soi Fon...' Rukia hummed in thought.

"He is also the only Ninja Turtle in any timeline who has studied under two masters," Wiz added, "Splinter the rat, and the Ancient one."

"Is that rare?" Keago asked the ones who would know.

Rukia thinks. "I believe it is, because of all the time a discipline it takes to learn," she answered.

"Yeah," Tatsuki agreed. "I think Rukia's right."

"Yeah, if you can learn under multiple masters, you're probably something special." Karin shrugged in agreement.

"Hey, look, Wiz! It's an Asian Yoda!" Boomstick hollered, showing the Ancient One, only getting silence in return. "What?"

"... I don't know if I should be offended or not..." Ichigo stated, feeling a migraine coming on.

NINJAKEN SWORDS

"Leo wields two Ninjaken Swords, which are best for swift deadly strikes and are designed with the idea that a good offense, is the best defense. They're usually mistaken as katana in the shows and comics, even though they are obviously straight, rather than curved." Boomstick explained Leo's weapons of choice.

Rukia looked at the swords with interest as she knows a Captain that wields two swords. Rather, TWO Captains that wield two swords.

Yuzu, again, had a feeling that this would fit her for some reason. "Is it weird that I can see myself as a duel weilder?" Yuzu asked, no one in particular.

Everyone didn't know how to react to that.

"The Ninjaken is, in fact, an invention of Hollywood," Wiz pointed out, "as there is no historical evidence of the weapon's existence."

"Like the moon landing!" Boomstick exclaimed.

"Shut up." Wiz berated.

"Seems Wiz doesn't like it when that come into question," Isshin stated.

"Yeah, I think it's annoying to hear for him," Yuzu agreed.

"While he usually relies on his brothers' solid teamwork," Wiz continued after his berating, "he has proven to be a very effective warrior on his own, too, defeating all sorts of enemies like ninja robots, giant monsters, war-torn aliens and even The Shredder."

"So, fighting Zitz is going to be another day for him, huh," Keigo stated.

Leonardo was seen swiping repeatedly at a Foot Soldier, who was dodging his swords repeatedly until Leo fakes him out. "Gotcha." He said before kicking the Foot Soldier away.

Orihime couldn't hold back her giggle.

"Okay, that was funny," Isshin stated, laughing a bit.

"Guess Leo made him go into a pattern to throw him off," Tatsuki stated, smiling at the action.

The Death Battle Doors closed and reopened, to show actions of the two fighters. "Alright!" Wiz called out. "The combatants are set! Let's ed this debate once and for all!"

"But first," Boomstick called out, "our shameless advertisement from our friends ay Godaddy dot com!"

While the ad was going, the watchers were picking who they thought would win.

"I'm rooting for Leonardo again." Rukia declared.

"I'm going to go with Leo as well," Ichigo agreed.

"Same," Karin stated.

"I think I'll go with Zitz." Chad declared.

"I think... Leo," Midori stated.

"Leonardo." Uryu huffed.

"I'm going with Zitz!" Orihime exclaimed.

"I'm going to go with Leo as well," Yuzu put her vote in.

"Leo," Keigo stated.

"I think I'll go with... Zitz," Isshin stated.

"Leo," Tatsuki picked out.

"I'm going with Leo again," Mizuiro stated.

"So that's nine votes for Leo and three votes for Zitz," Yuzu counted off.

They all turned to watch the fight.

"But first," Boomstick called out, showing the add was finished, "It's time for a DEATH BATTLE!"

The Death Battle doors closed then reopened to a seen of a city alleyway/street. Zitz jumps over a wire fence and walks forward through the area. Just then Leonardo jumps out of the sewer that Zitz had just walked by. Zitz turns to see his opponent was right behind him. Both were ready to throw down. This is it Toad vs Turtle, which leader will come out alive.

FIGHT!

Zitz instantly started the battle by using his ram horns on Leo, which sends him bouncing off a fencing before being kicked by three giant boots before being giant punched to the other direction. Leo quickly dodges just as Zitz tries to end the match quickly with his drill and kicks him twice before the Battletoad blocked all of his kicks.

"Man, Zitz is going ham on Leo." Keigo pointed out.

"Guess hisplan of beating the hell out of someone has merits at times," Isshin stated.

"I think Leo will turn this around," Midori stated.

"Yeah, he just needs to get the chance," Rukia stated.

Zits then countered with a punch and then summoned a gaint giant fist to push Leo back. Leo used the momentum to try and cut Zitz, but said toad summoned a spiked wall to block. Leo landed, leaving him open for Zits to get his attacks in. He punched him, then summon tambourines. He then grabbed his head, and for good measure, punched his face, then lifted him off the ground and throws him back to where they stated.

"Leo's already getting overpowered..." Karin grumbled.

"Leo needs to get into his own environment to get a better chance at winning," Ruikoa stated.

Cues: I Beam Fight - TMNT

Leo recovered by flipping onto his feet, showing his traing, and was able to defend himself from Zitz' oncoming giant fist. This gave Leo on opening to kick Zitz twice and stabs him once, drawing blood and pushing Zitz back.

"Alright!" Tatsuki cheered standing up. "Leo's got his edge!"

"Dang, Leo drew first blood," Isshin winced.

Zitz then morphs into a weight which is impervious to Leo's attacks. Eventually, Leonardo retreats into the sewers as soon as Zitz returned to normal and followed him.

"Good, since Leonardo knows the sewers a lot, he should be able to outsmart Zitz easily." Rukia stated with a smirk.

"Leo may have the win again," Uryu stated.

Cues: Battletoads & Double Dragon - Next Level (Remix)

Zitz landed when he got to the ground. He then scouts around looking for Leo, not seeing him at all. Said turtle popped up in one of the swear holes after Zitz walked past, and then jumps out of a hole in the wall, stabs Zitz with his sword in Zitz' back and jumps away before he was punched. Leo tries again but dodges Zitz's chainsaw and disappeared into another hole as Zitz gave chase and search for him again, Leonardo then surprise attack Zitz again and jumped back. Zitz was soon enraged and started pummeling the wall to get Leonardo out of hiding. This distraction was perfect as the group sees Leo floating in the water.

"Oh! Great work, Leonardo!" Rukia exclaimed.

"Damn... He made Zits so mad, Zitz is willing to bring the sewers," Keugo stated.

"Made him loose his cool," Tatsuki stated. "That's a bad thing in a fight."

Zitz was still in a brawl fueled anger feast. This made him not look behind and under him, leaving him open to Leo jumping out of the water and then slice Zitz in half, blood spraying everywhere. Leo then jumped into the same wall again, while Zitz' upper half fell to the ground.

K.O.!

The group claps for Zitz putting up a good fight and Leo getting the victory.

"That was a good fight," Rukia stated.

Chad nodded with a grunt. "True."

"Leo's a crafty foe to face," Uryu stated.

"Damn...!" Boomstick shouted, a bit of shock and impress in his voice.

"Zitz was more than a match for Leonardo in a simple brawl, using his brutal arsenal to overpower him; But when it came to the environment, Zitz couldn't handle Leonardo's ninja skills and his lack of training left him frustrated and unsure what to do." Wiz explained why Leo won.

Rukia and Uryu nodded at this, brute force without proper training doesn't win against someone who's smart and skilled to take advantage.

"Getting angry in a fight is not the best, unless you know how to control it," Tatsuki stated.

"Got to remember that..." Ichigo mumbled to himself.

"While Zitz is a strategist," Bommstick started, "he always relies on his brute force and once Leo went in stealth mode and turned the tides, Zitz decided to just bring the whole sewer down. And c'mon, Leo fights all kinds of mutants and monsters at least once a week."

'So? I fight Hollows on a daily basis. No thanks to Rukia...' Ichigo thought, staring at Rukia.

Rukia felt annoyed for some reason. '... Why do I feel like I was insulted...?' Rukia asked herself in her head.

"Of all the toads, Zitz certainly stood the best chance with his technologically advanced weaponry," Wiz stated, "but while the Battletoads are known for accomplishing impossible odds, so are the Ninja Turtles."

"True," Karin agreed. "I'm guessing Leo and Zitz would have similar fights under their belts."

"Leonardo made quick work of Zitz as soon as he had the chance." Wiz ended the post-battle analysis.

"In the end, Zitz just need to pull himself together." Boomstick punned.

The childish members laugh at the pun, while the others just groan.

"Why puns...?" Tatsuki groaned out.

"They're not funny..." Uryu agreed.

"The winner is Leonardo," Wiz announced.

"Again," Boomstick grumbled out.

The watchers clapped for the fight. "That was a good fight." Rukia stated.

"Wonder who's next?" Yuzu asked.

"Don't know," Karin stated.

The Death Battle doors closed and reopen, Boomstick calling out, "Next time on Death Battle"

The group soon sees a happy field, where a cute green dinosaur appears walking through the fields.

"Aw! It's so CUTE!" Orihime gushed at the green dinosaur.

Suddenly a savage red raptor appeared out of a green pipe and roared, making the green dinosaur cower in fear.

Orihime, Chad, Yuzu and Midori stiffened in fear for the cute dino having to fight that beast.

"Oh boy..." Ichigo winced. "They're not going to enjoy this next fight..."

Isshin nodded, knowing how Yuzu was with cute stuff. He set up the next episode so Ichigo could calm them down.
