???: Come on, move it! We don't have all night!

A man with orange hair, wearing a white suit and a black bowler hat, ordered his men as they were loading up boxes into an aircraft, which is docked at an abandoned airfield.

The man then drops the cigar he was smoking and stomps on it in anger.

???: Hurry up, slowpokes! They could be here any min-

???: Hello, Roman. Fancy seeing you here

A male voice suddenly spoke out from behind him.

The man, known as Roman, had a frustrated look as he turned around to see a familiar group of four people. One of them, is a boy with black hair, wearing a black long coat over his red shirt.

Roman: Hello, Red...

Red: Wow. Isn't it weird how you run into people you know at the airport?

???: Definitely weird. Especially when you catch them doing the same thing as before

A female voice replied and it was a slightly shorter girl with blonde hair tied into pigtails, wearing a black and yellow coloured dress. She is also carrying a large golden war hammer which is twice her size on her shoulder.

Roman: Good to see you too, Goldie. And I assume you guys managed to track me here because one of my men slipped up

Gold: Oh yeah. Didn't take long for him to spill the beans after I did some... "Convincing"

She replied as she brought her hammer down, causing the ground to crack under its weight.

Roman: I see. I suppose you guys won't consider letting me go, won't you?

Red: Let me think. Eh... No

???: Please, give yourself up Roman. We don't need to fight

A different female voice speaks out in a soft tone. It was a girl with long, sky blue hair, wearing a similar coloured dress.

Roman: Sorry, Blue. But I won't be going down easily

Red: You really wanna try to fight us?

???: Save your breath, Aki. He's not gonna come peacefully

A male voice spoke out and it was a boy with messy black hair, wearing a black coat with a hood covering his head and he is pointing a dark grey rifle at Roman.

Roman: Oh, Blackie. You know me too well

He said before snapping his fingers and the group was immediately surrounded from all sides by Roman's henchmen.

The group of four got into a stance and readied their weapons as the henchmen close in on them.

Red: The hard way it is then...

He muttered as he unholstered a pair of white and black pistols and it started to glow orange.

(Months later)

As the ships carrying all of the first year students started to dock, a boy with black hair and blue eyes, wearing a black long coat over his red shirt, watches from the top of Beacon Tower.

He then hears someone calling over to him and he looks down to see someone looking up at him while holding a coffee mug. It is a man with white hair, wearing glasses. He is wearing a black suit with a green cowl wrapped around his neck.

???: Morning. Professor Ozpin

The man known as Ozpin takes a sip of his coffee before speaking up.

Ozpin: So. Any first impressions on the new students?

???: Well, It's still too early to tell. They literally just got out of the ships. But, they do look like an interesting bunch...

Ozpin: Oh? So I take it someone has caught your interest?

???: Yeah, some of them do. And I'm particularly looking forward to meeting that girl which you advanced two years early

Ozpin starts to chuckle before taking another sip from his mug.

Ozpin: I see...

???: For you yourself to speak to her personally, she must've done something to gain your attention

Ozpin: That, she has

All of a sudden, they both hear the loud sound of an explosion and they both look over to see that it came from the courtyard.

???: That's a first. An explosion that I wasn't responsible of

Ozpin: I never thought I would see the day. Well, I'll let you handle that. I have a speech that I have to prepare for

Ozpin then starts to walk off and the boy looked at him with an eyebrow raised.

???: Really? You're not worried about a random explosion that happened in the middle of the courtyard where all of your new students are at?

Ozpin stops walking and looks back at the boy and casually takes another sip of his coffee before giving his reply.

Ozpin: No. Besides, It's your job to handle the new students. Remember your mission, Akiri

He replied and the boy, known as Akiri nodded.

Akiri: Right

He said before making his way towards where the explosion was.

(Timeskip)

(Akiri POV)

As I walk past the new students, I saw a black haired girl wearing a red and black outfit lying in the middle of the courtyard and I recognized her to be the one that skipped two whole grades.

Akiri: (thoughts) What are the chances?

As I approached her, I saw that she had her eyes closed and she let out a disheartened sigh.

Akiri: Why are you looking so down?

I asked and the girl opened her eyes and looked up towards me and I noticed the colour of her eyes.

Akiri: (thoughts) Silver eyes... So it's true...

Girl: I'm just... Having a bad day...

The girl replied before looking back at the ground, saddened. I then offered her a hand and she accepted it and I pulled her up on her feet.

Girl: T-thanks...

Akiri: No problem. So, why are you having such a bad day?

Ruby: Well... As soon as I got here, my sister ditched me to hang out with her friends and I tripped over this mean girl's bags and I got dust in my nose and I sneezed and I blew up and she yelled at me...

Akiri: Well that explains it. Dust explosions could get pretty nasty. Sounds like you've had a pretty rough first day

With a sigh, the girl looked down to her feet, feeling saddened once more.

Girl: There's no way I'm going to make any friends at this rate...

Akiri: Well, how about I be your first friend?

She looked at me with a completely surprised expression.

Girl: R-really? You mean it?

Akiri: Of course

She stepped closer to me with an excited look on her face.

Girl: Do you really mean it?

Akiri: Yes, I mean it

She went closer to me.

Girl: Do you really, really, mean it?

Akiri: I really, really, mean it

Girl: Do you really, really, really mean it?

Akiri: Yes, I really, really, really, mean it. So, you want to be my friend?

She quickly grabbed my hand and started to jump up and down in excitement.

Girl: Yes! I really really want to be your friend! Please be my friend!

After a few seconds, she realized how close she had gotten to me and she quickly backed away, completely red on her face.

Girl: S-sorry about that. I got a little excited and...

Akiri: No, no, it's okay. By the way, I didn't catch your name

Girl: Oh, my name is Ruby. Ruby Rose

Akiri: Rose, huh? Interesting...

I probably muttered that out loud by accident as I saw her starting to get concerned.

Ruby: Why? Is it weird? Please don't think it's weird

I then put my hands up to calm her down.

Akiri: Calm down, no, I don't think it's weird. I actually think it's pretty cute

Her face got red as for some reason, she got flustered once again and she looked away from me.

Ruby: C-c-cute?

Akiri: Yeah

She then started to zone out for some reason as she appears to be deep in thought and I raised an eyebrow at her behaviour.

Akiri: Hellooo... You there?

I snapped my fingers a few times to get her attention.

Ruby: Y-yeah?

Akiri: You okay? You were zoning out a little there, Rubes

Ruby: I'm fine! Yeah, totally-

She suddenly stopped mid-sentence.

Ruby: W-wait. What did you just call me?

Akiri: Well, your name is Ruby, so I'll call you Rubes for short. You don't like it?

Ruby: No, no. I like it

Akiri: Rubes it is, then

I before taking a glance at my wristwatch to see the time.

Akiri: Looks like there's still some time until the opening ceremony. Why don't we take a little walk?

Ruby: Sure

I then start to walk and she follows beside me.

Ruby: Hey, you haven't told me your name

Akiri: Oh, yeah. Sorry about that. The name's Akiri. Akiri Shiranobu
